Good morning!!!!

Up early this morning, and did a few hours of "work" work, before reviewing my list of home projects and required shopping list. I headed out to the truck with plans to stop at Tractor Supply, Lowes, Walmart, and the beer store, but the truck had other ideas. Cranked over once, then dead.

Because the starter was hiding behind a heat shield and not easily accessible, I spent way too much time dicking around with fuses, relays, and other probable causes, before finally pulling the heat shield and getting some test leads right onto the starter solenoid. It was getting battery and start signal... obviously the starter was dead.

An hour's round-trip to an open auto parts store, and then another hour or two to put the whole mess back together and clean up all the tools scattered in the driveway, and that was my day! Never did get to my projects. 😡

Good (Tuesday) morning. Overnight Low was a frosty -0.5C and it's presently 16.8C, mostly clear with a breeze.

Just 'tootling' along. That's about it, take care all.

Set a post yesterday to hold a dinner bell we purchased in Tennessee a few years ago. Wife 's happy.
Remember to 'ring' the New Year in @ 0000 NYE!

Wore out. Been working on pond rake. It will be a rube goldberg contraption, just because I'm trying to repurpose materials that otherwise were going into the metal scrapyard. I feel like I'm about 80+% done.

I took 3 ibuprofen because I was on my knees, and bent knees, and leaning over too much. Don't normally take it, but I need some sleep.

Did not go to church yesterday, but Pastor new about our ordeal with daughter and he brought over 2 pizzas. We prayed and ate and had some good talk. He's also a great friend to us.

Also today, my wifey decided to put together a glider rocker that seats 2. It is a patio lawn furniture type with mesh webbing for breathable comfort. She did make a mistake putting left end assembly J on the right end. Did not find out until the glider rocker links were interfering. Told her where she went wrong and she methodically took it back apart and had my son help her put it together. It works fine now. Alls well that ends well.

I haven't watched much of the US Open tennis tourney but I love to watch tennis. Was telling my family that it used to be on mainstream TV often back about 40 years ago. One thing that annoys me, (and others) is players that "grunt" when they hit the ball. Plenty of players before and since don't grunt, so why does the sport let them get away with it. I remember Gabriella Sabatini and Monica IIRC were some of the worst. When they played it was just uhg, ug, uhumph, uuug. I believe the players that do it, do it to annoy and try to intimidate their competitors. Wish the tennis association would penalize them for doing it. One guy complained to an opponent yesterday about it. The grunter lost, so good.

Took the Yamaha FJR out for a couple 15-20 minute rides to pick up stuff. It is a really nice bike. A lot of power. Only could recommend one to seasoned riders. The suspension is fantastic for what it is.

They had flattrack motorcycle racing at the Springfield mile. Wish that was still on mainstream, but only PPV.

Plane rides for lunch sounds fun. I used to do that many years ago.

My mom is doing well, with a good structured daily routine. Wish she would rehab more. She has a LOT of medical appointments in the last few months. But since we almost lost her back in January, every day is treasured.

Prayers for our team, our nation, Israel and Ukraine.

Good evening all. 68ºF for the start, partly cloudy, light breeze. Light wind, mostly cloud with popup showers, just not here. High temp for the day was 86ºF, HI 93ºF. Made coffee to start day, made Malt-o-meal for breakfast, organized task list, bike ride, mow front yard, lunch, nap, organized credit card slips, found company had missed credited my last payment, and now I have have a positive balance at end of bill cycle. Finished off St. Louis ribs bought last trip to town for dinner.
