We live pretty boring lives here and not sure I can post in this thread every day. Rained this am a bit and will need to mow the yard again, its been a wet summer here and I don't really want to do that anymore. Was near 70 this morning and we will be toasted getting up to 85 today. Need to complete my roller project and we are looking at two camp properties come Saturday morning.

Good Morning
75° and humid, high close to 90 with 0% POP.

Yesterday was an uncomfortable day to be outside as well.
I sort of meandered through the day, making some small accomplishments.
A friend brought his neighbor over to show me some parts that they wanted me to make for a bridge on the neighbors property. Essentially they were brackets to secure the 4” thick timber deck planks to the I beams across the creek.
I proposed a much simpler and easier solution using stock shapes rather than custom made parts. Not sure what’s they will do, it seemed like they were determined to do it the hard way.
After lunch, helped a neighbor make new cables for a bifold hangar door, he didn’t have a cable cutter or crimper for 1/4” cable.
I have a couple of outdoor WiFi access points that predated my mesh system, I decided that I’m going to replace them with mesh units. It sure is nice having homogeneous coverage. First one should arrive in an Amazon truck tomorrow. I’m using an Asus Zen system and have been very pleased with it.
Puttered around some more until wife decided we needed to make a Costco run.

Today starts with the retired guys at the RC field. Not sure what’s after that, music tonight is still undetermined.

Morning all, 70 going up to 88 and sunny.
Hot and humid yesterday so after work we just went into town to sit by the river.
Not having to water yesterday saved me some time, which I wasted nicely.

Today need to take the pole saw and trim some trees, some watering and maybe get to trimming a few bushes.

Be well,

Not very good at hiding.

Good morning! Just hot in August in Texas. 0.03" of rain this month, having to water plants 4 times a week. 79˚ to start off the morning heading to the upper 90s. Heat index in the 100s every day. Mostly sunny skies light S wind. We need a tropical disturbance.
Pool temp range stays comfortable between 85˚ and 91˚. Next chance of rain late next week.

Drew remember the Firefighters by the lake cutting cedars with chainsaws? They will start a control burn in September thru March around the lake.

Arly, keep those pics coming when you can please, your neck of the woods very pretty

washed my car, ran a load of car towel wash, set those on fast wash since not very dirty
these are the soft extra fluffy microfiber towels I use for car/rv drying. One is about an inch thick.

running a floor fan in garage since that rain was a gusher and overflowed over the concrete floor.
trying to dry things out under the tool area
I had just coated iron equipment tables with a little oil so good timing on that.

think I might go hunt down some sunflower seed at tractor supply.
can't pick up the 40 pounders any more so have to pay more for 20's
well I can pick them up and usually hurt myself
one of those situations where I mutter to myself don't be stupid

Good Morning to All who Celebrate! Currently 77° heading to 88° hot, muggy, calling for scattered thunderstorms.

Off work yesterday for another drive up north to look at another property, On my way up I was thinking of happy memories going up about this time of year for school. I can almost still remember how a dorm smells, it was the best time to be up there as the summer people were winding down and having their last hurrahs as we were settling in for the long haul. Saw the realtor for the first time in person, nice enough guy. Dairy farmer turned realtor.

House was a "horse property". Old farm house (1890 I believe) all the floors are settling in to the center and not level, low ceilings and doorjambs (I'm six foot and I can easily touch the ceilings and would hit my head on every doorjam), stone basement that had water in it and no bottom stair due to rot from said water. Oh and also no OEM rights.

Only good thing about it was the barn, recently refurbished bank barn with new stalls, brick retaining wall to hold the bank up. Acreage was a plus too.
On the way out my friend (Who knows more about refinishing than me) said it best. "Someone with horse money is going to buy that and tear the house down and start over."

I don't mind doing some refurbishment, but what turned me off was the floors and the standing water in the basement. That just screams foundation issues to me. There's something out there for me! I know it. I'm getting closer all the time.

Horse has become a magic word, like wedding. Everything related to them instantly becomes more expensive just by adding the word in front of it.

Anyway, what else happened this week? Oh, call from the dermatologist office, I don't have the Big C. The mole they took was benign. So thank God for that. Parents shoved off for my sister's about the same time as I left for up north. They're out there getting all the cuddles they want right now I'm sure. The dog was overjoyed to see me come down the driveway at her dinner time, I'm sure she will be again tonight when I make it home. I let her sleep on her chair rather than penning her up for the night.

Goals for this weekend are just to recover from the week and make sure the dog doesn't run away. Probably some mowing but that depends on the grass.

BEF: Hope your father continues to improve! Prayers for you and your family.
Buppies, I hope Holly has a better day today and Precious controls her digging urges.
Santa, welcome to GM! Hope you're feeling better.

All not specified, please stay safe out there and be well! Enjoy the weekend!
Prayers for all ailing and recovering!

@ronjhall great photo! Thanks.

good morning, 71 going to 88 sunny 90 percent humidity
Rained. a little but barely settled the dust yesterday

The ceramic sanding belts came in and wow they can cut. A set of mower blades sharpened in less than 2 minutes even with big chips in them

No need to mow grass is not growing

Will see what I will get into today

Inspected some of the trees. White Oaks are doing great and will likely become dominant trees among with Black Walnut and Sycamore
What sander/type are you using the ceramic belts on?

Some browser (feral pigs by the browse height) came by the orchard two nights ago and decided to eat off the leaves that they could reach (30") on one of the persimmons. Never had the issue before. If it was taller, I'd have blamed the deer.

All the best,

Peter
