, fun to compare it to Popgadget's.
65hp Kubota running at 2700 rpm powering an all hydraulic mower.
about the same hp as Paul's tractor but I think his mower is very different. ? pto? wheel driven? sigh...bad memory.

always wonder how much hp it takes to run some things.
from an efficiency standpoint, wonder how the gallons per hour of diesel this mower would compare to Popgadget's tractor at
same mow speed. I wonder if the engine rpm is different also.

My “big” mower is a Progressive TD-65, PTO driven and towed by a Kubota L6060. It runs 2400 rpm to maintain 540 PTO speed. I usually mow with a 5mph ground speed.

Prior to that I used a Toro 580D, 16’ cut width, powered by an 80hp Mitsubishi diesel.

My son has a kubota powered Jacobsen similar to the one Drew posted, but an 11’ cut width

Good Morning
74° and overcast, but no rain, forecast to stay dry and get to middle 80’s.

Yesterday’s trip worked out great. When we landed back at Philly, the storm was just arriving, literally obscuring the far end of the runway. A little bumpy on short final, but we beat the weather.
Sat in the plane on the ramp for about a half hour waiting for it to subside, before just getting out and getting soaked securing it and getting our cars.

Mowing was out of the question when I got home, hopefully this afternoon will work out.
I’m heading over to the RC club field to do a little flying with the “old retired guys” now, we’ll see what the rest of the day brings.

After getting 2 inches of rain last night, we got another 2.5 this morning...went out surveying the damage once it let up some...Creek is usually clear and only 6 ft wide max where I built my bridge...now it is 100 yards wide in places and flowing extremely fast in the middle...part of the upstream farm field has muddied the water.

When I lowered my phone after a pic, I almost stepped on this beaver, which took off. I was already half up to the top of my boots.

The tree and shovel handle in the background are normally on dry land on the top of the creek bank.

77F and sunny @ 10:45, headed up to around 84F for the day's high. Chance of rain: 1%. Winds out of the northwest @ 5 to 10 mph.

Forecast is increasingly hotter temps over the next five days with low chances of rain: 84F today ... then 86F ... 87F ... 90F, and finally 92F on Sunday before it cools down back into the mid-80's.

Rough night, had a hard time falling asleep and then woke up earlier than I would have preferred.

Warmer today than yesterday and cloud cover will only be around 24% max.

Agenda for today:

Touch up the 2 short t posts I pounded in yesterday with some green paint.

Run out a string line and get the locations marked for the last 2 short t posts for the next section of arched trellis.

Have more winter squash/pumpkins to get in the ground ... probably at least 15 or so. Running out of space in the garden proper so I'm thinking that I'll just plant them on the east edge of the flower bed and let them run out onto all the wood chips/mulch I hauled down recently.

Might take the 100' tape and run out a string line and start marking locations for post holes for the fence with some marker paint.

Grass down here around the house needed mowed in some spots yesterday, so probably time to start looking at that as well once it dries up.

Have both glyphosate sprayers reloaded and ready to go, probably some areas I could hit with that.

Hope everyone is having a decent Wednesday ... (y)

waved at Popgadget passing his yellow mailbox, then got rv inspected. Had a backup light out, yup, and the high mounted tail light up on the roof.
They said it's led and you have to replace the whole thing. That's pretty stupid. But they passed me and said get it done before next inspection.
I also have an extra set of stop and turn lights in the rear, which Popgadget helped me install, and perhaps that doubling up got me a little slack.

very nice brunch at Zotos diner on 309, though the place looked a little sad.
All being torn down soon and a giant Scheetz gas station put in.
food was ok.

trip home was a nightmare.
my main road closed due to paving.
ok, cut over and get on 202. It's a parking lot a mile on one side of Lahaska/Peddlers village.
I had to go back and down to Pineville on 413, cut over on Pineville Road, and make my way back through Lahaska.
truly going around the barn but weather was ok and I just took my time. Lots of little back country roads with trees overhanging
the road. Not relaxing at all driving motorhome through there.
I arrived at the dealership with a chunk of tree leaves in my awning. But no prizes on way home.

a little rattled by then, I bogeyed the back in to the driveway, par is 3, but I'd rather scoot over a little more than hear
a nasty scraping sound of my rv up against neighbor's big black mailbox.
I wave at the folks waiting in thank you and they wave back. All good.
good to be home.

looks like an afternoon mowing the lawn, since neighbors just did theirs.
but going to wait a bit so it dries out a little more
meanwhile nice to sit down in a/c.
everything that needed to get done got done, time to get in long weekend mode.
which for a retired guy is silly but why not.

69°F and .1 inches rain

Interesting exercise brainstorming the Quonset hit build. Not sure there is 1 true right way. A couple thousand nuts and bolts a challenge. That metal sure is flimsy and they recommend less than finger tight.

Today I’ll start prepping for our gathering 4th of July.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

got most of lawn mowed, back half of rear yard too wet, will wait til tomorrow
then I got the weedeater out and worked with that for awhile, got soaked and overheated,
came in with very red face, said enough of that, stripped down to comfy shorts and going to
work on my skill development also this afternoon.

Dang this day is flying by. Sitting at the kitchen table relaxing and dowsed off for a minute or two.
Did a bit more work on my mowers beam I broke got some gussets cutout and the top and bottom ones welded on.

Now to put up the kitchen TV on a new wall mount.

All stay safe and well
