We had thunder during a snowstorm a couple years back in February, but don't remember a regular t-storm until 2 days ago.

Squishy outside...nearly fell over when I stepped on a mole hill last night that caved in while walking Della. Big squirt of water came out. Creek is running about 6 inches over my bridge. Glad I wore Mucks when taking her back in the woods yesterday. Was funny to see the weather lady show a drought map for us on the news this morning. I guess that is mostly over. How're you feeling about it, Rip?
20,000 folks in our electric co-op north of us lost power from the ice storm...and Skyline Drive is still closed in Shenandoah, so I don't have any complaints here.

Start snow cleanup when daylight arrives. Wound up with about 5” of fluff then changed to sleet and freezing drizzle for the last couple of hours. Crusty on top but dry underneath, should cleanup pretty well. That’s it for today.

finally a warmer day, 36 out now going to 43 in sunshine.
looking at ten day forecast shows snow in five of seven days.
great time to be a skier.
postponed seeing MIL until this afternoon, was pretty slushy here yesterday.
with nasty weather coming in, guess i should make a run to supermarket today to miss the crowds later.
I'd better pick up more ice melt too, this last episode used up a lot

38 outside this AM, heading to mid 50's.
Yesterday was a soaker rain for most of the AM. But we have had enough water to actually flood the pastures, driveway and roads. It was a slushy mix to start, lot of power issues around us, then just an annoying grey sprinkle. The sun managed to pop out right before sunset, so it was rather pleasant to look at.
Managed to run out with the wife and do the shopping deeds. Shocked at the egg prices. At least the stock was fair. Need to run out again today for more food that I like. Wife and I are in different directions for food intake. I need a lot more weight, she says she does not.
Took not my dog on a walk around the back forty. Actually a swim. I keep her out of the creek when it starts getting too high.
Same, squishy and we don't need any more water, for sure.
Dog likes it though.

The thick layer of ice melted yesterday. I take no chances and use ice cleats if there is a remote chance of ice.
Two falls this season is enough. Drew, thanks for asking Wife is struggling still because of the late infusion
Took the support bandage off the wrist yesterday and still some pain from the tendons but better
The middle finger joint that pulled out is healing and getting better at working around it.
The next appointment is on Tuesday when the big snow storm is due. Need to call them this morning to see if I can reschedule

Good Morning
37° and breezy this morning. Probably the high for the day.
Yesterday I woke up to a sheet of ice over everything. It I’d warm enough to be able to clear it later in the day, otherwise the lane would have become a Luge run as the temperatures dipped. Hopefully today’s sun, wind and temps above freezing will dry it off completely.
Wednesday was completely used up by flying to Orlando to take a check ride in the simulator for the same plane I flew down there. The high point (besides successfully completing the check ride and oral) was that I was back at Philly long before the weather got there. The original forecasts would have had a much more interesting arrival. It was still good after my hour drive home, so that worked in my favor.
Yesterday morning the installer came and brought some new cabinetry for the great room to match the kitchen cabinets. I installed the home theater receiver and BluRay player in there, it really tidied up the inevitable rats nest of wire that seems unavoidable. Now there is no visible wiring for anything, all the speakers are in wall, the TV power and HDMI are all buried in the walls as well. It ended up being an all day event though.
I had an electrician lined up to fish the wires for the under cabinet lighting and an outlet, as they had to come up in the edge of the attic, made worse by the convergence of ductwork and plumbing in the same spot.
However he was a no show, so I had to fold myself up and fit back there to get the wires inside the wall. I used an endoscope and looked inside the wall to make sure there were no insurmountable obstacles, then found the bay in the attic and sent a fiberglass fish rod down the wall from above.
I was able to reach through the hole for the old work box and get the low voltage wire into the cabinet before installing the box and the outlet.
Collected all the trash and recycling, got it to the street, and finished the evening in the recliner in front of the fire.
Not a lot planned for today, other than playing music tonight and getting the template for the quartz countertop for the new cabinets done. Probably meet some friends for lunch and play music tonight.

50this morning and 70+this afternoon. Rained 1/3 of inch last night but sun is shining already.
Not too much yesterday. Installed door sensors on one of my doors. Wasn't in the mood to troubleshoot because I'm thinking new ones don't work. I'll get back to it today or over the weekend.
Going to run to town for errands and to get some cash. Grader going to stop by later to make a plan of action on the bridge.
I am sure there is dog walking will be included too.
Time for a 2nd cup.
