Good Morning!!!! 45F @ 7:43AM. Sunny. High 68F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.
A few days Xfinity (Comcast) announced it would be upgrading equpment in the neighborhood and there would be no internet connection. Sure enough, I'm using the hotspot on the iPhone to access the internet today.
Meanwhile up north, the grid is down at the old house and everything's running off the battery pack and solar. No reason yet given for the outage.
Got my MRI today for my lower spine. ...Hope the doc can figure out why my legs get so painful when I stand too long or try to walk more than 1/4 mile at a time.
Got my MRI results back last week for similar issues. I have "narrowing" in my lower back. This from one of the ditzes that works in the office, if I want more details I need to schedule a time with the PCP. Probably means that one or more discs are collapsing and pinching nerves that run between the spine and the muscles they control. My doctor is referring me to a pain specialist, but that hasn't come through yet.
Sounds like a nice truck, Drew. Flushing an automatic transmission at that mileage can cause more trouble than it fixes. The flushing stirs up deposits that end up in valves and narrow passages, resulting in shifting problems. And removing all of the contamination could reduce the friction in the clutches and cause slipping. Better to just change fluid and filter. Maybe want to drive it a while to make sure there aren't any problems before pouring money into it for new tires and deferred maintenance items, especially if you end up giving it back to the dealer if they won't fix what's wrong.
Been fighting paper feed problems on a Canon all-in-one printer for the past few weeks and yesterday finally gave up and ordered a new one. The old one lasted eleven years, and the new one is supposed to use the same cartridges. Bought the extended 4 year warranty, too. One and two star ratings are running between 15-20% regardless of brand, but at $80, it's clearly a throw away if it breaks.
Tracked down a problem with the video rear view mirror wiring in the van, and needed to order a set of depinning tools to get the wires out of a connector. Will need to track down a new source of switched DC, as the one I was using gets interrupted when the headlights go to high beam.
My buddy is complaining of drowseyness and lethargy after the surgery and hospital stay, and I'm afraid it has something to do with the heart rate and blood pressure meds. They don't have a PCP yet, but do have a cardiologist referral, so hope they can find drugs that don't slow 'em down.
Happy Hump Day, folks!
