good morning, warmer 34 and snowing lightly high 39 today

7300 steps yesterday. Did fall a little short of the 8000 goal

Wasps are getting into the house somehow. There may be a nest in the wall. Joy of 200 year old house

Cleaning the filters on the mini split today. Did use it some during the cold spell

My steps are in winter mode. 3k to 4K. I do get on my recumbent exercise bike every few days.

Ct,30 to start going to 38 ! Woke up to 3 or 4” of white stuff and it’s just tapering off now !

Kathleen has a doctors appointment this morning for her back issues, hopefully can resolve any issues! She actually seems to think it feels better this morning so that’s a positive!

Need to get out and clean up the snow off of the DW ! My youngest son has a Polaris Ranger like mine so I’m hoping he put his snow blade on so we can clean things up !

Frits, thanks for reminding me about that, I turned ours on a couple of weeks ago, so I will have a look ! I’m not sure what I’m doing differently this year but my electric bill is only right around the $200 level ! That’s mini split system,2 refrigerators, one chest freezer, 52 gal electric hotwater heater along with everything else ! It does spike in the spring when I start the pump up for the inground pool ! Anyways I’m not complaining!

Not a lot planned for today, maybe some gift wrapping! Hoping all have a blessed and safe day !

Wet snow wanna be rain.
Close to an inch on the ground.
Windy, gray and damp.
I'm tempted to just role over but I went to bed early (aboot 10pm) so I'll do more uncomfortable rolling and turning than sleeping.
Maybe throw a dvd in and have a warm milk watching something mindless.
Be nice to others, it'll leave them wondering what you want.

19 outside this AM, heading to lower 40's. Dry here.

Nothing on the agenda pressing. Spent most of yesterday hanging the scalping frame for the bathroom barn door. No drill bits were broken. No more blood drawn. Seemed like a win. The door itself needs painting, and the walls need touch up. Kind of cold for the door since it is an outside paint project. Hope the sun comes out and warms it up a few degrees. Looks cloudy though.

We get buzzed quite often here. We are on the edge of western Quantico. The largest undisturbed "green space" remaining in this area. Particularly disturbing are the large ordnance drops in foggy conditions. We also get the DC National Guard flyovers at Mach speeds. Close enough to see their weapons mounts. We have only lodged two complaints over the years. Both were large explosions that really rattled the bones. The USMC maintains a web site for both schedules and complaints. It's all part of living next to a base though. We are also super close to the Dulles exclusion zone. So we get to witness take-off and landing patterns on occasion. The night landings are impressive as you can observe the multiples of aircraft on the horizons all stacked up waiting their turn in the flight paths to land. Sometimes they look like UFO's hanging in the sky when their landing lights come on.

Marines are reopening an old Army airbase just 25 miles south of Camp Lejeune. Not sure if anyone lives nearby, but it will handle everything the Marines fly.

My poor wifey has been dealing with neck and shoulder pain since Monday. She says 4 ibuprofen are not helping anymore. wondering if it is a pinched nerve or something else?

We have the wildlife management consultant lady coming today to assess our place to put some of it possibly into wildlife tax abatement.

My work is having our annual Christmas gathering/meal tonight at a fancy country club. Should be some good food, but wife won't be able to go.

About to take my son to school, this is rare time of year he doesn't have a sport to be working on daily yet until after Christmas, because he opted out of basketball.

late start, cold out there, light dusting of snow on the ground.
windy morning, with snow going North of me, Popgadget may get it.

had a lovely dinner at Popgadget's home last night, he did a steak on the grill that was marvelous and they
sent me home with another dinner. His fireplace is wonderful, enjoyed sitting by it and baking my bones.
Had fun with Zoe, their very large dog, who is just the sweetest dog and really wanted me to play.
The funny thing is dog is so big, while sitting down, her head is level with my head and when she wants to come say hi,
it's an all on experience.

headed out this morning to check on rv. Curious to see if still beeping. It's parked headed straight in, since the area in front is wide open and easy
to back out into later. So that leaves my empty bike rack in back which will get a small Christmas wreath this morning.

Buppies, if you say it's getting warmer, send it up here please.
I don't mind snow in the low thirties. It's winter and it should snow.
would be more worried if it didn't snow. Last winter no snow more than an inch.
Have a feeling this year might be livelier.

Morning all, 37 going to 39 and cloudy.
First snow ended up being just enough to see it on the ground. Dog is disappointed.

Got some more hooks up. Still more to go. Only have 1 hour/day to work on this.
Moving ladder, up/down, drill, screw in hook, etc. Not efficient.
But once the hooks are up I hope the new process of using a pole to put up lights will pay me back.

If the wind is not too bad I should be able to finish the higher side of the roof today, shorter ladders for the rest.

Had to take the big ladder down, wind was moving it a bit...

back to the day job.

Good morning, the low is 27 and, that is also the high for the day. Wind WNW 8 mph. Periods of snow.
It snowed all night. 6" on the deck now to add to the 6 I plowed off yesterday, with more to come today. I think we are going to have a white Christmas. The ski slope operators will be happy.
Next Monday is the only day we will see above freezing temperatures. (34)
I will go out about 9ish and plow, then do the dump run.

Good Morning
34° which looks like the high for today. Little bits of dust on the ground, looks like a snow squall might be nearby.

Yesterday, I did get the oil changed in the KubVan, hopefully today I’ll get to the Prius. It’s overdue for an oil change by mileage, but because so many of my trips are accomplished on battery, the engine hardly runs, the oil still looks like honey. But it’s not much of a project to change it.

Wife’s graphic project went ok, I had to be on a short leash while she did it, but I think that she’s got it figured out now.

Made a run to the grocery store for steaks and apples for dinner. Hauled a load of firewood up from the woodshed to the garage, then cut up the apples to make an apple crisp.

I figured that I’d serve Drew the steak that he didn’t get on his RV adventure, and I knew I couldn’t go wrong with apple crisp and ice cream. We had a very nice visit, and Zoe tried her best to win him over, I’m sure she sent him home with some of her coat to go with the leftovers.

Not a lot planned for today, get back to cleaning up. Snow squall just arrived, I can’t see across the field at the moment.

Good Morning!!!! 43F @ 6:15AM. A mix of clouds and sun. High near 70F. Winds NNW at 10 to 15 mph.

Managed to get four loops of chain sharpened for the saw yesterday, and do a little Xmas shopping, but not much else.

Looks like Yahoo is trying to drop support for their web portal, something I've been using multiple times a day since the mid-'90s. Their feedback page is overflowing with negative comments. They've threatened to drop it multiple times in the past, so we'll just have to wait and see if they actually go through with it this time.

Looks like I'll be helping the son of a new friend down here with a little moving job for a little while today. He'll be in a house over the back fence and down a little way.

Not sure what else I'll get into, but it should include some cleaning and putting away.
