Coffee is cooling in cup. 55° with light rain this morning. Heading to 65° with rain. All the windrowed leaves got picked up. Borrowed neighbors 72" roller and rolled the walking trails I have in back field. Moles have made the trails very rough for me to walk on. Much smoother now. Will roll again after this weeks rains. Have mole traps out to eliminate a few of the critters.
Still a few leaves on trees for Squirrels to hide in.

snow is coming to the Rockies. My stepbrother in Salida CO has a week of snow predicted and it's coming down now.
Kind of like Vermont, you just expect it.

41 high in low 60s today back to work sleeping pattern all messed up. Really dark outside creek has dried up very unusual for this time of year. Grass needs one more haircut.

New tires for the truck today...appointment at Costco. "Earned" a free taco so likely Torchy's for lunch.

Filled the firewood rack, and "rebuilt" the stovepipe connecting the stove to the chimney...Ready to go...a good bit later this year than usual.

Still waking up on the old time before change

Scraped out an area and set up the fire rings using 3 of the rings.

Started to look through stack of logs to use for firewood and found this Cherry one that was split by lightning from the top down to the ground. May be good for the smoker or some projects

Good morning, the low is 36 and going to a high of 52°F. Wind ESE 17 gusting to 24 mph. Light rain.

I've got nothing planned for today. I guess it is an energy conservation day.

google maps updated their cartography around my friend's cabin in Arkville NY.
Hard to find until I found the pond.
pretty steep dirt road near the top to left of pond.

Springbox about 200 feet up the hill from pond provides running water
down a long often broken water line to the cabin, and head pressure is enough to take a hot shower there.
always have to check for dead animals in spring box.
This is where my 1988 Honda Foreman lives and possibly where my Gravely garden tractor will go next year.
My friend's son is super conscientious about taking care of machinery.
more than 20 years ago when I could no longer ride the ATV due to arthritis in arms and hands, and everywhere,
I gave it to my friend to keep up there, and it has been a mainstay of their wood gathering work with a cart behind.
The Gravely will do a much better job of hauling logs in the woods.

plus there is some Gravely history here.
This was my first Gravely, a 816G I think and this is my friend's daughter in the cart.
She now has three kids of her own who are also going for rides in this very same cart.

Buppies, sorry about sleep. I couldn’t get to sleep last night, so got up and came downstairs ended up falling asleep on couch, now in lazyboy.
Drew, sounds like you have a lot of people to visit in NE area.
I also quickly stopped for 2 deer standing in road last night, then for a nice buck standing beside the road.
