Some nice chunks of wood y'all! Popgadget, good that you are flipping that monolithe. If it splits, it could just be considered "character" and you could fill it with some of that cool 2 part epoxy to fill the cracks and then finish it??? Painting the ends makes my mind wonder if that just slows the drying process, and therefore helps prevent cracking by giving more time for the cells to adjust to the stress? Time will tell.

Drew, hope Rushmore is a sight to behold. Thanks for sharing your journey. Sorry about leaks. I think Ron may have offered the best advise for a pressure regulator. Hopefully it is something simple.

At work/school, they just came down on electric mobility devices. If they have over 750 watt motors, Not allowed on campus. We have a huge campus and a huge student population. Maybe the largest in the USA. This cancels out all the units that are similar to Drew's. Only the scooter type with small wheels typically have the smaller motors. We used to allow them into the building ONLY if they fold up. No more. They have to be locked to the bike racks and there are not enough bike racks. We were talking about bad drivers the other day, well, 18 year olds on scooters, riding on sidewalks nearly hitting pedestrians is the problem. Where there is a road, they have to use it and follow all the same rules as cars. They currently will go anywhere on the road including the other side to not have to stop for pedestrians on crosswalks. And students crossing crosswalks with their nose on their phone screen and headphones on, don't pay attention because they have the right of way....it is a bad recipe. I pray nobody gets hurt badly. I have to drive really slow, with my head on a swivel getting to and from my parking lot. White knuckle slow. It is better if you can time it when there is not a class change time.

RS, prayers for your wifey.

PJS, glad to see you posting more. Prayers for the step son. I'm hoping your job is working out good and is rewarding for you.

Still waiting for the grass to dry a little to mow.

pretty sure my small ebike has a 750W motor and can go about 20mph, though I sure wouldn't on it. I bet the school wants stuff regulated to 12mph like many golf carts

Kyle, that was some hard drilling. If grade 5 breaks, probably good that it does because something gave that mower a mighty wack

47 degrees out, haven't been in a rush to get out in that. Only doing water and electric today so easy. I did use my leveling blocks to restrict extension of the hydraulic leveling rams and that has worked well.

Just like a fire ladder truck at full extension, these things aren't so heavy duty when fully extended. Lot of pressure in a small area and that I bet broke the one I had. Not me...must have been the guy before. ;)
Thank goodness for prior owners to blame everything on.

Watch says one thing, computer says another time, but watch rules, it's mountain time. Time to get moving.

My e-trike has a 500 watt motor and can hit 20 mph easily. Got it up to 21 mph down hill, but I got on the brakes as I don't want to go that fast on something I am not all that comfortable with right out of the box. I don't have a rear view mirror, so I don't know what/who is sneaking up on me to clock me. Namely the cops. If you can go over 20 mph on a level flat road then you need to have a license (suspended) and insurance and all that crap. I DO wear the brain bucket.

Both cats I let out at 7:30 this morning wanted back in at 9:15. They didn't waste any time coming in either. The deck was wet so I guess they got rained on.
These two sure are different than my Smokie, the Maine Coon. She would saunter up from the old hen house (150' away) in the pouring rain with not a care in the world.

Drew, when Davids' LS is acting up it hasn't got enough power to get out of its' own way. ;)

Mine had a Holley 4 bbl. Ya fuel mileage sucked, but it was cheap. $0.499/Gallon here, then. Mine had a 391 gasser and wouldn't pull the skin off a peach. But it hauled gravel all day every day of the week except for Sundays.
His had the 534 I believe

Morning all, 71 going to 76 and cloudy, calling for some rain.
That will make the kids party today spend more time inside, maybe.
Dinner was nice, son liked his present.

Wagtail - a 2 fer when the tree falls perfect and the cat is caught without major chasing/scratching.

Well , pool is ready and heat is on anyway if the kids want to use it.

David/Sodamo - wish this LS thing would be fixed. Did the dealer ever get the parts in they ordered to fix it? Do you even think that will help? Hope you find something soon.

Be well,

I did see a fox on the door cam the other night, but we have some squirrels and rabbits left.
Wandering cats catch voles and leave them on the driveway for us :-(
And of course, deer by the truckload.

Good morning! 69
We finally broke out of the 70s in the morning but warming quickly to the 80s with clear skies and a N wind.

The robot is working full time cleaning the pool of sawdust and leaves. Today he will do a double shift with recharging in the afternoon,

Have a few flowers to replant and some bird vases to look at today. Trying to do as much as I can with one hand. I’m still under a lot of restrictions 9 days after surgery. Pain level still very tolerable. I have not been released to drive, hopefully next week when I see the Dr.

The people I worked for were too cheap to get the 534 in the '60s, but the 1974 Louisville they bought me had the 534. A 25 ton hoist, too. That was one sweet truck, especially when we put the main shift lever out of a 1970 Louisville into it. Made the main shifter 8" shorter than any other truck. I have long arms and in 1st, 3rd and 5th gears the shift knob rested on my fingers with my arm extended straight down. NOBODY messed with my truck, they couldn't shift the main unless they put the seat on the floor, then they couldn't see over the dash.
In 1975 a garbage disposal company bought the pit and all the buildings and trucks. I went west.

Good morning! Low of 46°, high expected of 80°, no rain in the 10 day. Bummer.....
At least the temps will stay about the same all week.

The storm that grazed us a couple nights ago took off the top half of our biggest purple robe locust tree. Split it at a "V". Definitely a weak spot.

The saw and pruners will get put to the test today. Going to trim back the branches on the remaining half to "lighten the load". We are hoping the tree will make it.

The worst part is that we barely got more than a trace of rain from the storm. Mostly just wind.

Then, while out in the "jungle", noticed the willows were infested with willow aphids! Not a few spots, but almost the entire trees. I will hose them off, then apply some soap.

Still contemplating how to spray the soap....
1) pressure washer w/ foam gun. 2) nozzle that goes on garden hose that will add soap to water stream (basically from a bottle of 'house wash').
Or 3) a 1 gallon pump sprayer.
Number 3 the least preferred option, being time consuming and not effective on large trees.

Ran out of nursery pots for our transplants. In the past, I have had good luck getting pots from the nurseries in town for free. Not this time. Called the 3 biggest nurseries.... none to be had. Ordered 150 deep pots for $40. Hopefully they will get here by mid week.

Time to get after those 2 projects. Not looking forward to either.....

Everyone have a great day!
