Good morning!!!!

52 outside this AM, heading to upper 70's.

Spent most of the day yesterday on the road, then at daughters new house. Did some dad things for her. She is on travel so the SO and I got to mess with her place, our way. I left a skeleton wolf at her back door just to freak her out for Halloween. We had found some pet remains when we walked the property last month. I buried them and did the respectful thing yesterday. Also fixed her handles on an appliance. Amazon parts promptly delivered and actually a correct fit. Never can tell with made in China replacements on appliances made elsewhere. LOL. Globalization at it's best I guess. She has a new weber on the back deck too. Carry forth the charcoal tradition young lady!

Today is rest, recover and job search. Not looking good. Don't think anyone of my feelers will match my current benefits package. Really bad timing for me with the estate and in-laws care and moving.

I should spend some simple time in the Milk House today. Need to paint and measure some wood for window trim. Still need the hot water heater cabinet build out. Proper time management is needed.

The grasses are out of control, again. Nice and green, thick too. Need more time management on that too. LOL.

The animals are all lined up, waiting for breakfast. Nice thing about our layout here, I can see everything by eyeball from the main house. No video needed.

Time to start the day. Hope all are well. Be safe.

Rip, lot of nice Dad stuff you did for your daughter.
good luck on getting the next job/project.
You need to keep working to pay for the renovation your wife is already thinking about for Milk House 2...:);)

Buppies, beautiful picture
it's 6:36 here and this time change is confusing.
I went outside to turn off the water and whoa it's dark out here.
heading back out in a minute to see if I can get any sunrise pics

Morning all!
52 going to a gorgeous 74! Think today will be an outside day!
Not much going on here. Normal day to day stuff that makes life great.
Did some more work at the apartment yesterday. Only a few more jobs left. Picture hanging and stuff like that.
Time in the woodshop getting waste wood cut up and glued so I can use it. Decided on these.

Great way to get rid of scraps and also use my rope tying hobby.
Not sure which one looks best. Maybe you can help. Both are the same wood just turned 90 degrees off from each other.
Finishing coffee and off for our 3 mile walk.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

Good Morning,
Milford, Ct , 58 to start going to 74 with bright blue skies! Our last full day here, will need to start doing some packing later because we need to be out of here by 10am tomorrow! Plus the place needs to be put back to the way out was when we got here ! 😉

Now in middle of nowhere out in a corn field
Drew, build it and they will come ! 😀

So, today I took Della on her first true mountain climb to the top. Great 50s hiking weather. Great other hikers and their dogs.
Wngsprd, great picture of Della at the top ! Great weather for it also !

Scott(vt) if you make make to Missouri, I would recommend spending time on Bullshoals, or Table Rock, or Beaver lake. I 49 between Bentonville and Fort Smith has some neat scenery. Great pic opportunity.
Mostly, thanks for the tip, may get there someday!

There is some checking, but it is staying straight so far.
Paul, you can prevent a lot of the checking by painting the ends of the mantel ! Then when it’s dry, just crosscut the ends to remove the paint !

Hope all have a blessed day and enjoy our weather! 🙏

Wngs, great pix of Della! Thanks for posting!

Phil, spectacular woodwork. It's what we expect he he. I like both, but the top one best!

Been doing a little "outdoor" woodwork. Not to Phil's impressive standards but oh well. Building a fence to keep Rigby near the house. I wanted to be able to see through it from the house out to the pasture, so I made a "see through" horizontal design. 6" top and bottom boards, but also 5" and 2." With 1 1/2" gaps.

The wood is 1" thick, which is best due to UV and sometimes high winds. The wood came from cedar trees in CA, milled on my small sawmill, then stacked and dried for a year.

I was surprised how much the wood "moved around" during the drying process. After drying, the edges were uneven enough that I chose to run one edge through a jointer to straighten it up, then use that clean edge for later cuts on the table saw. Some wood is up to 1" x 16," which is good so I can choose to cut it to whatever size I need.

Plus Rigby will enjoy looking through it to watch the geese and wildlife.

Morning all, 55 going to 79 and sunny.
Got some watering and pool cleaning done.
Glad I took the 2 best peaches from the tree, all the rest are gone now, mysteriously disappeared in the night.

Had a group come out and clean the ductwork, doubt it has ever been done since the house was built.

Need to clean out garage and move some stuff in case sons birthday party Saturday has to be indoors due to rain. Will be lots of teens running around, Sunday allocated to clean up work

Nice fence Plowhog.
PopGadget - starting to really look like a home, nice stonework.
Phil - top one, but both look great.
Drew- water always tries to get out, hope you find the issue and it's an easy fix.
Raises and jobs-

Be well,

Plowhog, nice job on the fence
that will keep a large animal out also

no nice pics, just same corn field in front of me.
very quiet and still, I'm sure the winds pick up during the day.
I'll be off around 9am, staying on two big highways.

I need to remember to ask if these places have tornado shelters, if
the weather forecast is iffy. I"m sure few do, but I saw a road sign for one
rv place on the way saying Storm Shelter. There is a little office/small motel attached to the campground, will ask when I check in.

I also have six 18 inch ground anchors, six tie down straps and my Makita impact driver to drive the anchors in. Which come with a bolt on top and correct socket on the impact gun. sure hope to never use it.

this reminds me of hurricane prep in South Florida on my boat

good morning! 73 heading to the upper 80s with cloud cover 15% chance rain.
Phil I think the one with horizontal stripes in the pic looks best.
drew good thing that you have stops by two of our morning MacGyvers, Rng and Kyle.
Kyle, congratulations on your well deserved raise.

PT visit today.
the sling is held in place by an around the body strap that keeps the padding between my waist and arm in place, the problem is I'm starting to get claustrophobic and have to do pendulums (PT approved arm hanging down) to combat that feeling. just another 2 weeks in the sling. getting antsy. I'll get PT to give me more exercises.. Another drug free day. I got this.

Good Morning!!!! 76F in Yankee Hill where I'm headed today. Abundant sunshine. Hot. High 104F. Winds light and variable.
Not looking forward to those temps.

Spent another day getting the electrical mods made on the back porch, and almost finished. Everything is mounted and wired, but ran out of steam before I could do a smoke check.
