Another County fair just a bit South of me this week, Rennsealear County in Schaghticoke their out of the field tractor pulls are Friday.
They have implemented a new rule for turbo charged diesels at many of the fairs this year as a result of the accident earlier this year.
ATTENTION:
Street Diesel Trucks with vertical exhaust and ALL Turbo Charged Tractors Pullers!!

Cross Bolt Update: In addition to the existing 2 cross bolt rule, it is STRONGLY encourgaged that All Turbo Charged Engines meet the following guidelines with regard to cross bolts in the exhaust pipe:

There should be one set of two (2) 3/8" minimum Grade 5 Bolts in the Horizontal Portion of the exhaust pipe(s) - as close to the turbo as possible. Bolts are to be installed at 90 degrees to each other and within one inch of one another. A second set of two (2) 3/8" minimum Grade 5 Bolts are to be installed within two inches of the first set. (Horizontal portion of the exhaust pipe.) Those should be installed at 90 degrees to each other and are to indexed 45 degrees from the first set of bolts.
I love tractor pulls. Seems like they aren't as popular here as in Ohio, Wisconsin, Tennessee, etc.

our fair has them. too loud for me..
My brother is going to take his Allis WD45's down and I'll be climbing up on one in the morning it looks like at this time.
The out of the field or "field stock" are not very loud and I hadn't noticed any of the diesel tractors being very loud. Now the modified with several big block gas motors are a bit loud, but the super stocks and stocks don't seem to be to me, anyways.
Almost all of our county fairs have them as well as several different pulls for benefits and such.
Many of the fairs have several pulling events on different nights, one night for pickups, one for modified trucks and tractors and another for out of the field tractors and maybe enhanced tractors and then a day and night of super stocks.
The out of the field classes tomorrow will be starting at 11AM and run till 3-4 in the afternoon, then a pause and a start again around 6 or 7 PM, they usually run the lighter classes early and the heavy weight classes in the evenings.

I used to enjoy tractor pulls as a kid.
Our local fire dept usually has one each year also.

It’s chilly on the porch. Now 70° with strong breeze from the northeast.
Grass starting to green up again, will probably mow later. I skipped along the creek last time, so it probably needs it.

69°F and .2 inches rain.

Sophie’s home. yayyyyyy

Nice dinner out after picking her up at airport. The 3 fickle furry boys unabashed showing their joy. And here I thought I took good care of them.

No real plans for the day. Relax and enjoy.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

69F and sunny @ 12:45, heading up to around 74F for the day's high. Low this morning was 52F. A little taste of Fall.

Ten Day says 3 days with highs in the 90's coming up.

Didn't get much done yesterday, was pretty much overcast and cool the entire day. Did finally get a shave though ... ;)

Also got juice for both sprayers filtered and the sprayers refilled.

Plus another bill scheduled for payment and meds doled out for this coming week.

Woman hauled more stuff over for the yard sale.

Not sure what all on menu for today.

Feeders definitely need refilled.

Winds are fairly light so may do some spraying.

Have more mulch that needs spread.

Hope everyone is having a decent Thursday ... (y)

Good Afternoon!!!! 88F @ 12:30PM. Partly cloudy. High 94F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph.
Showers are in the forecast for tomorrow morning, but only 0.07".

Had to be at the DMV first thing this morning to have the VIN inspection redone. After a bunch of paper shuffling they handed me a pair of license plates and a sticker, so I'm good to go in California. Stopped for groceries on the way home, and now I'm good for the rest of the week.

I did look at those compact rivnuts, Paul, but they're still about 8mm too long. So I'm going to make a rubbing of the existing holes and drill the steel plate to match. That'll make six rivnuts anchoring the plate, and it'll just have to be good enough.

I also got the anchors for the cargo net installed, and I'll hang the net once I update the steel plate.

My motorcycle shop friend thinks he might want to haul off the parts Vanagon for his new project. He was planning to cut the nose off, and now wants the back end to make a trailer. I need to keep the carcass around until I get the camper furniture installed in the other Vanagon, and he suggested we team up to get that done a bit sooner than it would otherwise. He's done a couple of these before, and could probably save me quite a bit of time. He'll be here tomorrow morning for another early start and we'll try to figure out what makes the most sense.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!
