Good morning!!!!

71 going to 93. Not as nice feeling as the mid-50s recent mornings.

Buppies, prayers said.

Scott, I bought two similar O-ring kits from HF...nice kits, but only once have I found one of the O-rings in the kits fit my application, most recently to stop the leak on my water hose nozzle. But I'm hopeful next time.

BEF, hadn't heard of the steam engine train excursion...sounds good. That ride (Staunton/Goshen) is beautiful...it's the one we took last October.

Lou, that sounds like a nice set of tractors...you must take goood care of them.

Kyle, sorry about the finger...nice your work is gonna clone you.

PJ, real nice hoist.

Thomas, crazy the hornets built that nest. I've had wren nests, mouse nests, and wasp nest built in mine, but never anything like that. I think my hornet problem is over, except a few strays that come to the hummingbird feeders.

Funny how after the trillions of dollars that have gone into wind and solar, worldwide CO2 has actually increased 12.5% over the last 20 years. I read this week that Alberta has halted all wind and solar projects for the next 7 months to study their impact on the grid, the environment, and what they call their pristine viewscapes, and to determine how operators must deal with the solar arrays and wind turbines when they stop working.

We've been doing a lot of painting and sprucing up projects. You might think there was a big baby shower scheduled here in just over a week, or something. Also had a nice visit with my mom...drove her from Virginia Beach to the little town where she was born and raised, and to the cemetery where most of our relatives, on her side, are buried, as well as my dad, and two sisters.
Somehow the people who scream at us here in America seem to have no problem with China opening two new coal -fired generating plants every week…

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

68F going to upper 80e maybe low 90s, chance of stray T-storm later in the day.

Several storm cells basses just east of us yesterday afternoon, we stayed dry, briefly touched 90F yesterday afternoon. Might have to run generator and pump for irrigation later.

Hot tub tech never showed, when I called around 10QM to get a handle on schedule I was told that it would be after lunch. 3PM I called office and was told service manager was not available but he would call me back. 4:15 I called again and was told he was probably in the bathroom and he would call me back. No call back…

so the afternoon was wasted, we could have run down to Georgia to pick up a Home Cheapo order, could have gone to woodlot and cut more logs down to splittable pieces and done oil change, but instead wasted afternoon getting sunburn and mosquito bites waiting for the tech…

i did get to du the annual application of loaned oil to all the shovels/rakes/etc and a couple other odds-n-ends, but generally a half-wasted day. Not that spending an afternoon on the deck is , in and of itself, a bad thing, but not when there are other things that could have been accomplished—- especially since I will be sitting on the deck AGAIN while the tech is working…

Harry is going to Doggie Daycare today to burn off energy with other energetic dogs, and trip for aforementioned Cheapo pickup. And reschedule hot tub repairs…

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe blessed day!!!

71 outside this AM, heading to mid 90's. 94% humidity. Just started to sprinkle a minute ago. Can use the rain.

Walked with the weed whacker for a good part of yesterday. Ran out of gas before I ran out of energy. Had to make the trek back to the house being unproductive just lugging the whacker back. LOL.

Hope all have a great weekend. Special thoughts to those in need.

I like to walk out to the far end before starting (when I a, rested and full of energy 🤣) and work my way back in, so when I am beat up, dirty, and tired I have a shorter trip 😎👍

Good Morning! Very hot, very dry. For specifics I'd have to look at the weather and that's just depressing so all you get this morning is a general weather report.
Costco run did not happen yesterday, my knee was acting up and I could not put weight on it, had to resort to the three wheeled walker. Feeling better today, but it will be an easy day, don't need to crash before my knee operation in November. It was feeling so good on the 3 mile hike I was thinking of postponing surgery, not now.
I need to get to the estate house to get it ready but it will have to wait.

Prayers Buppies.

Edit: Looked at weather 77˚ heading to 103˚, it will be in the hundreds for 7 hours today, no rain for the last 8 weeks grass is crisp, except in irrigated yards. My one day of irrigation watering was yesterday and I did take advantage of it. Neighbors trees are dying, he does not water enough. There was one lady in the neighborhood (not on my street) who died in January. Her daughter came from Australia took a few things from the house turned off all utilities and left. The yard and all trees are dead, the vines on the house are brown and it really looks haunted. We figure it must be a reverse mortgage house. The HOA might have to step in to get it to community standards.

Yeah, but if I am carrying something, I'd like to use it.

There must be some math involved in this scenario with the weed whacker cause I find myself in the middle of no where with no supplies and less energy. After all these years you would have thought I'd have figured it out.

At least if I pass out, the wife can see me with the binoculars. She of course would think I was just being lazy. LOL.

Good Morning
It’s 68 with a high near 80 and cloudy. Heavy rain just passed through, got over 1/4” in less than 15 minutes, total overnight was 3/8”. About 1/4” yesterday. Chance of thunderstorms later.

Yesterday was productive, it was dry in the morning, so I mowed before startling on the transfer switch. Managed to get everything but the pastures mowed before the rain. After blowing off the equipment and putting it away, I got started on the transfer switch project.
Here’s the control relay and the socket with the harness I got made up before lunchtime.

Fortunately, I had the relay, socket and DIN mounting rail in stock. Also had the drawings for the Onan switch, which made determining the connection points for the relay much easier, but still required a bit of study. The switch used clearly labeled barrier style terminal strips so connecting the relay was straightforward, I labeled the leads with where the connected to. It actually worked properly when I was done, I’m ready for power outages again. The new wiring is in white, most of the old wiring has been abandoned.

That project took me until there was a break in the rain to gather up the trash and recycling and get it to the street, and a little time to start putting things away before dinner.
Had some pulled chicken, fresh sweet corn on the cob, tomatoes and cole slaw. Gave Zoe some much needed attention before calling it a day.

Today is off to Martha’s Vineyard again, this time by way of Ogdensburg, NY. Should be home in time to accomplish some more cleanup. I think that all the lightning damage has been discovered and repaired, but we shall see. I’ll wait a week or two before telling the insurance adjuster I’m ready to settle the claim.
