Good Evening.
Been a hectic day, started with a trip to the Vineyard, got out just ahead of Air Force 2. Kamala was just getting to the plane when we taxied past.
There are some serious thunderstorms south of Long Island that we had to circumnavigate. Tops were over 40,000 feet. But we got out there and back, had another Mission BBQ lunch.
Then onto damage assessment and control at home. Had a lightning strike around 1am that woke us up and did some damage.
So far I have found a 16 port gigabit POE+ switch, the Ethernet interface on my desktop PC, the KSU for our Nortel phone system, and 4 APC Ethernet surge protectors. There is probably more, but I won’t know until I get a new switch and see what works. There is a batch of POE cameras and two outdoor access point that are also POE powered.
This is all in the shop, except the KSU. I managed to get things going in the shop with a 10/100 switch I had on the shelf, that got the mesh Wi-Fi on line, I connected the desktop via WiFi. No cameras or outdoor access points, but do have control of the thermostats and outdoor lighting.
The Amazon Sprinters will be up and down my lane for the next couple days, hopefully I’ll have the time to install stuff as it comes in. Have a busy week with the FAA, at least a couple of nights we will be out past midnight.
It will be a struggle keeping up with GM, but I’ll give it a try. Might be from the Wi-Fi in the plane..
