Good morning!!!!

Good Evening.
Been a hectic day, started with a trip to the Vineyard, got out just ahead of Air Force 2. Kamala was just getting to the plane when we taxied past.
There are some serious thunderstorms south of Long Island that we had to circumnavigate. Tops were over 40,000 feet. But we got out there and back, had another Mission BBQ lunch.
Then onto damage assessment and control at home. Had a lightning strike around 1am that woke us up and did some damage.

So far I have found a 16 port gigabit POE+ switch, the Ethernet interface on my desktop PC, the KSU for our Nortel phone system, and 4 APC Ethernet surge protectors. There is probably more, but I won’t know until I get a new switch and see what works. There is a batch of POE cameras and two outdoor access point that are also POE powered.

This is all in the shop, except the KSU. I managed to get things going in the shop with a 10/100 switch I had on the shelf, that got the mesh Wi-Fi on line, I connected the desktop via WiFi. No cameras or outdoor access points, but do have control of the thermostats and outdoor lighting.

The Amazon Sprinters will be up and down my lane for the next couple days, hopefully I’ll have the time to install stuff as it comes in. Have a busy week with the FAA, at least a couple of nights we will be out past midnight.

It will be a struggle keeping up with GM, but I’ll give it a try. Might be from the Wi-Fi in the plane..

Good evening. Another 107˚ day on the road and 103˚ in the cool grass in the valley. I was hopeful of a cooler day this morning because there were clouds in the sky but they all disappeared by noon.

Went by Costco for a bit of shopping and to get hearing aids cleaned. The hearing aid counter is closed on Sunday. Good thing the new town Costco is close and I did not waste much time. Gasoline was $3.239 a gallon at HEB grocery. With all the trips to the estate house I'm filling up 3 times a week.

The drought is persistent and every day has been an "excessive heat warning" day and a "red flag" day.
Humidity started out at 91% before the sun came up, but went down to 28% at 5pm. :(

I almost hate to mention it, but we have a chance of rain on 8/22. 9 days from now. I'll be praying.

Sorry about your lightning strike. Often, they take out the garage door openers too.

good morning all
I know I'm up early when I beat Buppies or Ron.
should be a nice day today, high of 89 with another round of thunderstorms coming in tonight.

Popgadget, sorry you got fried. Hope you don't find anything else not working.

slept well last night, very tired from heat, need to remember to drink more water today

have some errands to run this morning, not much else planned. I have a loose connection on my rv backup
camera, which I'm pretty sure is behind the unit in the dash. Means pulling radio unit out of dash and looking behind.
need to find a youtube how to video. Every time I hit a big bump I would lose signal, and when I tapped on radio, usually came back.
So unlikely it's at the camera in the rear, just a loose connection up front. Everything comes loose on these rv's...

think I'll take my Makita cordless chainsaw and cut up that wood picnic table today. Then what to do with it...

First cup of coffee is cooling. 63° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 75° with evening showers. Did a conserve energy day until afternoon. Went to neighbors and worked on cutting up large cherry tree and hauling limbs to chipper pile. Todays plan will be similar.

Good Morning All.

Morning all!
62 heading to 81.
Rain in the forecast for the next two days!
Happy birthday and anniversary to all I've missed!
Between the constant rain storms and the cut with a knife humidity this stupid deck project is taking forever! I finally have it almost all complete. Just need to mount one more stair rail and final cleanup. Not sure of I posted this one. Didn't get a final pic yesterday was to beat.

Spent some me time down in the woodshop keeping cool. A few of my latest projects.

Think today will be kind of a rest day as my arthritis in my hands and fingers is really acting up again.
Neck issue is pretty much the same and wife's voice is still not back to normal. She might have to go to a voice coach or we will have to learn to live with it.
Hope everyone stay safe and healthy!

66 outside this AM, upper 80's expected today. 69% humidity. Nice fog bank over the pastures this AM.

I took a closer look at the chimney yesterday on the Milk House. With a ladder. It's built pretty tough. Still in good shape as none of the bricks were loose. Cut into the concrete wall on the inside. Still don't see any support structures for it. It floats! LOL. If the weather cooperates and I hear from the roofer this week, looks like sledge hammer time on the roof.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe.
