Good morning, 53 going to 77 today no rain

Taking a rest day from PT for the shoulder to get a chance to heal up a bit before continuing.

The plane crash is suspected caused by lack of oxygen. Should think there would be alarms for that

Daughter may come out today to help out

The push back with the minix is very useful. I rip up pulling forward and then push it back

I'm supposed to be doing outdoors barbecuing in this grey mess,
filet and tuna on the grill.
just packed extra face masks...

I would think in any pressurized cabin a low oxygen alarm would sound.
very sad.

multitasking while chewing on breakfast. showered and shaved and now fed, time to pack last bits.
and water outdoor plants.
one small flower arrangement of roses goes in a cupholder on the drive, not sure if I can take that big vase with me.
likely to find rose petals everywhere

should be in Millsboro DE at 1pm. I'm in no rush, not a pleasant drive for most of the way, just stay in right lane and let everyone
go by. Besides, my left side is my good side, bandaid doesn't show...;)
slow and steady wins the race
and today, include a good supply of eye drops

Morning all, 54 going up to 78 and hazy.
Could smell the fires last night and this morning outside.
Did some general cleanup and watering, mostly worked day job.

Have a good trip Drew.

Be well,

I guess I am being affected by the fires. This is the sun 15 minutes ago. At this time no problems with eyes or sinuses

. Popgadget, do small jets like a Cessna Citation have a "return to home" feature like a drone, after the cabin pressure fails, or due to a time limit with no input from the pilot. Strange it made a 180 and returned south in the direction where it started after flying hundreds of miles, and even past the destination airport.

No.
It followed its flight plan, the last fix before the Islip airport was CCC which is the Calverton VOR, a ground based navigational aid. There was no arrival or approach programmed, so it went straight to the airport without descending and with no further route or guidance, it just continued on the heading from CCC to the airport (ISP) until it ran out of fuel and crashed. There are alarms for cabin altitude and the oxygen masks deploy automatically if it gets too high.
The crew has quick donning masks that they have to put on themselves. It is likely that whatever happened was not a sudden event, and that the oxygen system was not properly serviced, possibly even as simple as a low or empty bottle.
Another noteworthy that the restricted airspace in DC only goes up to 18,000 feet and they were at 34,000. That is also noteworthy because their filed altitude was 39,000. That would indicate that whatever happened was before they got their final climb clearance or pretty early in the flight. It’s also not uncommon for airplanes to loose communication for a while, but usually can be reached on a monitored emergency frequency called “Guard” of 121.5 mhz. The northeast track on the right was the route to Islip, the southwest track on the left is just a straight line from CCC to Islip continuing to the crash site.

I still do not understand how it turned around in New York but my knowledge is limited and experiences took place a long time ago.

Beautiful picture Ron

The autopilot was just following the programmed route, which brought it to the north side of Long Island and then turned to the southwest direct to Islip airport. After that it had no further guidance, so it just followed its last instruction and continued on that heading.

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

49.6F, going to low 80s, late-day T-storms forecastEd.

Mrs just showed me a Bobcat 743 for sale on local FBMarketplace…. I told her she would ABSOLUTELY have to step up and learn to drive it because I cannot drive everything (she is skeered of machinery) and still work efficiently.

Today will be more root-picking, and start burning some fenceposts for electric fence around the Victory Garden.

When we get back, I need to start cutting down all the thorny-grabby-bleedy vines that are taking over one part of our land at the house - and I have to do it by hand because part of the thorny-grabby-bleedy vine variety is some blackberries that are putting out a bumper crop - but aren’t ripe yet - and I definitely want to keep them!

i hope everyone has a happy healthy safe blessed day!

Good Morning
It’s 56 with a high of 75 forecast. Visibility is less than 3 miles in smoke.

Yesterday I was at one of airports taking delivery of some new snow removal equipment. A Wille 865 with a 14’ plow, snow blower and Broom. It is a pretty impressive machine and very stout. The machine is made in Finland, the attachments are Norwegian. I was unfamiliar with them.

Today will be breakfast with the professor and then who knows what..
