Frits, have you considered suspending posts from excavator with a rope looped around, maybe something like a clove hitch or double half hitch? Something that would hold it straight but loosen easily.

Probably too late to help, but pharmacist told me if I got those symptoms from the booster to drink a bottle of water as quick as I could get it down And take two Tylenol, which never help me. The next morning, i had a headache and sore arm. Did as he said and within a half hour headache was gone and arm was much better

I did take an ibuprofen this morning and both arm and head are fine.

I got both sides of the driveway cut back. Did it all with the hoe. Knocked a 6" Pine over after undermining a bit. I have been wanting to do that for years.
Got a low down V notch cut in one of my dead trees that is now a widow maker. It is busted about 40' up. Where it is designed to fall it wont hurt a thing.

Tomorrow is tin work.

The hour meter mystery solved. When in doubt look at the manual. Number without engine running is hour, number with engine running is miles

David good idea

Morning all, 52 going up to 70 and sunny.
Finished planting the Forsythia, all 25, while the rain kept hitting here.
Finally got something done !

Today off to Brewfest on the river with a bunch of friends and then to a Kentucky Derby party. Hopefully it's not as muddy as last year. Not sure how much I will get done tomorrow.

Alien - good to see you back and sorry to hear about your ailments. How are your hands doing, did the operations help?

Mostly so close yet so far. I guess no way to modify engine to work? Hope you find a suitable replacement

KC - glad back is getting better

I have a wood dolly for my backhoe, it takes a while to swap since everything for the 3pt needs to fold up etc. but building my dolly certainly helps. I need to keep the BH on for a while to move some tree trunks then it's time for the flail and forks to move the branches and rocks.

Be well,
Thank you!

Thanks, RNG. This is a pipe post 2 3/8 diameter. I think it will be a series of overlapping short runs as I’m challenged maintaining a consistent distance over about inch. Not overhead, the break is near ground level

Also note I need to determine how to stablize my hand, especially the side away from the concrete.

Raining now, so practice, practice, practice.

OK, did have a pic of the temp fix

The exhaust connector inside, held in place with a couple screws. I can clean the surface rust well with wire brush. Get to use the concrete for stability for half.
For stabilization, if you have ever seen any old-times with painters, a rod/stick placed one end on a surface away from “target area” while held with supporting hand can provide something for working hand to lie upon while performing the take, and you can move the stic around for optimum support.

We've had some memorable threads concerning "hours" on a tractor.
Some tractors the hours tick off whenever the key is in the ignition and just turned on, even if the engine is not running.
Some tick off whenever the engine is running.
Some tick off depending on the engine speed. You can idle for hours realtime with little change on the meter, but when you get up to "pto speed" they start counting.
And of course there are many older tractors where the hour meter is broken.
And my 1962 Case - with original Case gauges - does not have an hour meter.l.

Don’t forget Cow Hitch or Magnus Hitch, depending on texture of the pole… 😁👍
