Good morning!!!!

Cool weather sticking around here 37F low and went to 56, sunny and low wind, so really nice.

Thanks for all the birthday well wishes for my son. He had a great day. I took 4 of his friends to play paintball. It was the first time for all of them. There were people of all ages and color there. It was great, friendly competition. After that, I took them to Popeye's fried chicken which was $125 for 7 of us. Ouch. But, it's my son's favorite chicken place. I love the red beans and rice.

Went to 2 church services today. Early service at our regular church, then later service at my friends new job pastoring at a neighboring church 20 minutes away.

Rich, that flat tracker Dallas Daniels seems to have some great skills for such a young guy.

Hope you all have a great day.

Good early (Monday) arvo. Overnight Low of 8C and it's presently 23.4C (which is a heck of a lot more than the predicted 17C. Sunny with light winds (again, better than the predicted 33-40kph)

Now the reason that I'm a wee bit late today is that one of our parishioners, yesterday at Church, asked if I could help at his vineyard putting netting on. He was shy one worker so I said of course I would... although I've never put my hand to anything like this. We started at 0830 and it was, indeed, a learning experience but nothing that I couldn't handle.

I was 'let go' (with 3 bottles of wine in tow) at noon, as that was the only task that required an 'extra hand'.

Seeing as I'm 'dressed' for work I'll go and find some work to do around the property.

That's about it, take care all.

I had a frozen culvert about 25 years ago. I used a column type electric sump pump on the flooded side and extended the discharge hose (1.5" rigid PVC pipe) to the dryer side and stuffed the hose into the pipe. About every 2 hours I went and stuffed the hose in farther until I had a hole all the way through to the deep water side. Job done.Running water will melt ice. The following summer I installed a 24" culvert and haven't had any trouble since.

Good morning, the low temp is 23 and going to a high of 32°F. Wind WSW 8 mph. 40% chance of flurries. Accumulation less than an inch.

I gotta get junior to call Bell on my behalf again, they have been promising me a paper bill for the past 3 months and I have yet to see one. They are switching to e-bills and you gotta be over 65 to get paper. I will never see 65 again, therefore I meet their criteria. I get him to call because he has more patience with them on the other end of the phone than I do. Damed immigrants cant hardly speak english and then put the onus on me to understand them and wont upgrade the phone call to someone that can.

I will wait until after my trip down south to put the backhoe on and clean out the mouths of culverts and knock a few snow piles down.

Back down the you tube rabbit hole for me.

Have a safe day all

Coffee is brewing. 25° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 47° with sun and a breeze that should make snow piles melt. 1 year old's birthday party was fun yesterday. It was nice outside with bright sun. Going to be same today. Only much warmer. May get out and pick up some of the branches that have broken off pine trees.
Sandhill Cranes are back at feeders. Snow was gone by end of day.

I have the sneaking suspicion that this will be entertaining—- for varying values of “entertaining” . . .

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up to badly…).

currently 19.4 F, May struggle into low 40s later.

Yeaterday, when we took bog to woodlot, I let Mrs & dog go up and down the hill while I did an oil change on the tractor. It appears that an oil change had not been done for some time…

I ran the tractor for about ten minutes to warm it up, then pulled the drain plug - and nothing came out! Meanwhile, the dipstick was wet. Then, slowly, a blob slowly emerged from the hole and then dropped into the pan and the oil started flowing like it should.

I can only imagine what the bottom of the pan is filled with.

Then, when I filled the oil, I put the funnel in the newly-accessible tube, and dumped in some oil - and it was air-locked. Now, I don’t know if it was because the jug of oil was cold and thick, but I pulled the dipstick to vent the air. I am hoping that is all it was and that the drain-back holes in the head are not clogged! It has always maintained good oil pressure, so enough drains back while it is running, but at some point I guess I will have to open her up top and bottom. . .

But at least there is new oil in there now. so I guess I will be ordering up some gaskets for future maintenance.

After work to-do list includes: call shed guy and arrange site inspection prior to ordering shed; calling vet in anticipation of new puppy; calling shelter for additional administrative/technical/operational info; picking up all the chewables from the living room-dining room-kitchen-office areas, purchasing pads, sheet plastic, puppy food etc.

time for another cuppa jumpstart-the-heart and get ready for the cube farm once again. . . Yay. Happy Monday.

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe productive blessed day!
