Good morning, low temp 48 and the high to 45°F. Wind WSW 15 mph gusting to 28. 30% chance of showers.

I have a couple of small jobs to keep me occupied today. Whether or not I get at them is a horse of a different colour.

Ron, If I get that La Cross at amazon.ca it will cost me north of $500.oo by the time I am done with sales tax, shipping and the jacked up Canadian price.
If I get it from amazon.com it will cost me $400.oo or less. Even with the exchange (31%) plus sales tax (13%) plus shipping (?$) I am still ahead to get it from the 'states. I have an amazon.com account, too. But I think it will wait until next year either after I go back to work or after my income tax rebate comes in.
Thanks for the info though.

If it is pissing down rain, then I will stay inside and jump down the youtube rabbit hole, if only drizzling what we like to call 'scotch mist', then I will go out and do something.
Most of my big winter prep chores are done, now for the smaller ones. LED lights on tractor, resistor for heater switch (only blows on high) winter front on tractor, a short list.

Have a safe day all

good morning all
pretty amazing pics Wngsprd

near record high temps today, 74 predicted.
I'll be out doing leaves once the dew dries off

Happy Birthday Mrs Mostly!!

this will be the last week for the veggie garden. Cold temps coming in next weekend.
maybe I'll get another pepper or two this week.

electrician came over yesterday afternoon, he owns the rental house next to me, local, he went to same high school ten years after I did, so we
yakked for awhile. Hard to find an electrician who will show up. His family has been here for generations as mine have, hope it works out.
He's going to have to put in a mini double breaker for the new freezer, no room left on the panel. I'll be glad to get rid of the extension cord I'm using now, but
it's super heavy duty contractor cable so it won't get overloaded. Tired of tripping on it though...
It's crummy work installing the bathroom vent, ceiling pull down ladder that likely hasn't been opened in decades.
Worried about all the crap/dirt falling down into pristine guest bedroom but have no choice. He said he would put a tarp down. No idea if there is a floor up there or not.
All I know is I'm not crawling around up there.

Ken offered to help. I turned him down, will wait for something easier. give your helpers a crummy job and they don't come back...

Frits, so sorry you feel crummy. Hope it goes away quickly.

granted I slept in a little, but it was strange to wake up and have it be light out already.
I'm late! no you aren't...
more time in the morning, less light in the afternoon.

What is people thoughts on Long term care insurance? I can get it now, but cost is 200-300 month for $200 per day coverage for 3 yrs. so if I pay for 20 yrs I would have paid 1/3 of the benefit amount. And then there are stipulation and approvals required before they pay. The diference in cost is 2 different inflation adjustment options.
My parents had it, Mom still does. My dad used his for 2 months and my Mom wants to stay in her house so for them it was/is a waste. The nursing home has to fill out the request for reimbursement for you because of the information required. They bought it many years ago and the coverage was sufficient at that time at $25 a day. They did not get the inflation adjustment. Once you start using it the premiums are waived, how nice. If you want to stay in your home it does not pay for nursing help.

However another VFD friend bought the same insurance with the inflation clause and his mother stayed in a facility for 5 years and it paid off for them.

So the answer is - It depends if you get the inflation clause and you are willing to leave your house.

A bit more research on today's rocket launch, named S. S. Sally Ride...looks like it was visible all the way to Boston, Pittsburgh and Myrtle Beach. It has over 4 tons of supplies, etc. including a facility to advance 3D biological printing of human tissue in space, an experiment that studies if changes space-grown plants undergo to adapt to microgravity can be transmitted through seeds to the next generation.

Good Morning.
It’s 65 under clear skies and going to the middle 70’s today.

Yesterday’s rain ended by early afternoon, son came back and I changed his oil filter for him, showing him the proper tool choice, and making sure that the old gasket came off with the filter.

Neighbor’s electrical work went well, my role was just as an inspector to see that he followed code and workmanship was good. Found one loose connection, so I earned my Diet Coke.

Went to Q-Mart with a friend for lunch, he likes the Gyro stand there. I like their chicken, but am not a fan of the “mystery meat” they use in Gyros. I think they use pork in Greece, but here it seems to be come combination of ground lamb and beef.

He borrowed my Little Wonder walk behind leaf blower, I took it for a walk before loading it into his truck.

Today, I’m off to Vero Beach, so I’ve got to get moving, but it looks like another nice day.
