I saw that a few days ago and then yesterday there was a fire on the "Farm" here. The mega keg (40 spout building) had an electrical short and was damaged yesterday before I got there. They were fixing the damage all day yesterday still looks pretty bad. Also a tragic incident in the neighborhood, a guest of a resident was playing pickle ball, going back and fell on his back and head, blood out of ears, not expected to live.

Our Daughter is planning to spend the weekend and Monday in Lithuania, Vilnius before she heads home. Helo, I was wondering if you have some recommendations for what to see around there? She likes museums, theater and artsy things. I realize you are in the next door country but you likely would have some idea of what to see.
Hi

It's hard to recommend anything if I dont know preferences. Is she more looking to see "old stones" or looking for some fun ?
Geanrally Vilnius is great city. Old city is nice, like Literatai street | Go Vilnius
Must see Gedemino tower - it is city symbol.

I like Užipio respublika - it's city's district "owned" by hippies, declared independence from state. You can live there, if you are nice person, etc Home - Republic of Užupis

Nearby Trakai castle is interesting, few movies has been shot there. Recently Anna Karenina - Anna Karenina (2012) - IMDb Really loved that movie. And place is nice. Inside there is interesting pub. (I hope it still is a thing, I have been there 10 y ago)

Good morning! 37˚F. It will be a sunny day and 70s. Machine day at the Plant based meeting. It might be an expensive day if the others have machines that are highly recommended that I don't have.

Perfect day tractor driving yesterday, few people so no restrictions to enforce, no dust, very little mud, sunny and 65˚. Only one mother had problems with her stroller. It was a small wheel stroller and she had taken it in the mud and the wheels no longer turned so she had to drag it around. One of the pumpkin valets had to help her after I dropped her off at the pumpkin patch. On weekdays it takes 15 employees to run the customer part of the Farm and on weekends 60 employees. There is also a farm crew of 5 that works daily maintaining the agriculture part of the farm.

Good morning

Colder but not freezing as it was forecasted 40 going to 50 or so for a nice cool day

Picked up the Makita Chainsaw yesterday and put it to work on the clean up. Great saw, works really well, love it. It will do 90 percent of what I need a chainsaw for and with the extra set of batteries it will not run out of power.

Told daughter looking for extra job to only consider restaurants that are always full and often have wait lists for table. So she applied to this Texas style steak house that fits the bill. Her daughter was at a camp for acting and plays this summer that she really liked. Her interest goes back to when she lived with us at 5 years old we had her go to theater classes for kids.

txdon, I was thinking about your new gig when I saw the pumpkin farm fire. And your accident brings up the risks at these events.

Scaredychicken, good suggestion on the bench. I will see if it is possible with the placement of the firewood shed.

Helogabals, thank you for the suggestions. I will pass them on to her and will report back on what she decides to go do.

Yes there is a lot of "what if's" being talked about after the fires and identifying water sources, extinguishers and closest fire companies. The grass is really cut short in the parking lot area with lots of gravel drives unlike the other pumpkin patch up North.

Good Morning
It’s 33 outside with a high of 50 forecast. The overnight low was 32.5. A nice clear day.

Yesterday’s trip was a slow ride to Florida, winds aloft were over 100 kts starting off on the nose and later turning more westward, but made for a long ride. It helped us some on the way home, but not as much as it hurt going south.

Our routing saved some miles, but but us about 160 miles off shore over the Atlantic. That portion of the flight was mostly over clouds, so we couldn’t see the ocean.

The sky cleared as we moved northward affording a great view of Cape May, NJ as we crossed the Delaware Bay.

Stopped at Costco on the way home from the airport and picked up two full packer briskets and a couple of pork shoulders to smoke for Friday’s rehearsal dinner. A couple more chores after getting home and called it a day.

Today will start off with breakfast with the professor, wife is coming as well. A friend dropped off his passenger Sprinter van for us to use as a shuttle from remote parking to the wedding, I would like to wash it today after it warms up. I will clean out and load the fire box on the smoker to get it ready for tomorrow’s overnight cook. Hopefully get the mowing done as well. Also need to pull out and stage the PA equipment they will be using.

Now that I’m typing it, I see that I will busy today!

Morning all, well it had to happen sometime, first frost this morning.
High in the mid-50s

Day job is taking day and night, oh well.
Worked a little bit on getting halloween decorations out and ready. But not energy to do anything else.

No rain until Sunday - hope it stays that way

Kyle - feel better soon
That's sad to hear TXDon - falls can be so devastating.
PopG - sounds like busy day - Sounds like you got it all handled and ready, should be great fun.

Back to work for me- have fun, stay well and heal for those on the mend

Good Morning Everyone.

My "Hockey Injury" has given me a few challenging days, with the pain managed by left over T3s and some back / muscle pills as needed. Still, I have managed to accomplish a few things. The burn pile (pending Oct 28) continues to grow. The dump load is also growing. The Sea Can is getting a few things ... off season tires, stuff cleared out of garage, car parts that are ready for the next swap meet ...

Other plans in the weeks ahead are to 1) empty out an old leaking trailer and move the stored contents (already in totes) to the Sea Can 2) destroy said trailer down to frame and axle for future use as utility trailer (burn the wood, salvage the tin and windows for recycler, toss the insulation 3) move the rabbit hutches into a corner of the chicken coop and 4) dismantle / destroy / burn that old shed. That will clean things up nicely. 🤠

If I can manage it physically in the days ahead, the tractor will be used to tidy things up and level out some other areas on the property. Otherwise, I wait for eager friends to assist.

I'm not sure how it happens, but the burgundy coloured 40 foot Sea Can essentially disappears against the green treeline on the edge of the driveway. ❤️ People (including wife) have not noticed it when they drive in. Wife knows that it is there now :) I think that she sees the practical value of having it.

28°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 53° today. Another cold night tonight, then we start warming into the 80s for the weekend.

Got the trash gathered and rolled a full can down to the road yesterday evening. Hmmm ... seems like I just did this. With any luck, they won't skip us this week.

Helped The Wife get some more stuff done in her new sewing room. She wanted to hang all of her cutting mats, and required a substantial hook to hold them. We had one, but it was bigger than the holes in the mats. So, a 3/8" drill bit opened them up to just the right size, put new holes in the two large ones, and voila ... happy Wife. Also hung a large framed poster for her, with pictures and descriptions of all the AKC recognized dog breeds.

She'll be out late this evening, so I'll get some quality studio time in a quiet house.

Sorry to read about the farm and neighborhood incidents, Don.

Nice pics, Paul.

Good morning, gents.
