64F and "Fair" @ 23:45, heading down to 61F for the low overnight.

Went down to the NAPA and got the hose for the loader made up then came back and got it installed.

No leaks ... (y)

Swapped out the bucket for the pallet forks and moved the MMM out of the way.

Got tiller mounted on the 3PH and brought it over in front of the garage.

Cleaned off all the grass and weeds that were wrapped around the center shaft on the ends.

Leveled the tiller and checked gear oil in the top/center gear box, was kinda low (1/3 instead of 1/2 full) so I filled it up with some Sta-Lube 85W-140 I had up in the shop. Probably the same stuff I used to fill it originally.

Checked gear oil in the side gear case, was oozing out even before I got the plug all the way out so I went ahead and tightened it back up.

Then I started what ended up being a several hour extravaganza trying to get my old Coleman pneumatic grease gun to push grease. That ended with no joy ... :(

Ordered new Lincoln pneumatic grease gun from Amazon, should be here Wednesday ... (y)

Killed off the last 3 ribs and a baked potato for dinner.

Then we took the trash and recyclables up to the road and put them out.

Neighbor called this evening and wanted to know whether I wanted anymore manure, told him that we'd take all of it that he wanted to get rid of.

Since I really don't want to run the tiller without greasing that side bearing, I'll probably spend a good part of tomorrow screening compost and making more room for the incoming crap.

Was going to do the welding on operator floor/deck on the Kubota tonight but was having hand cramps so that's put off until Wednesday when they are calling for thunderstorms.

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

Mostly the flow meter was a no go on the water softener.
The flow meter was out of stock and has been on back order forever. Good news is that the control also can be set to days instead of flow so the flow meter is not needed, problem solved by resetting from gallons of flow to number of days for regeneration.

103˚ today and still 95˚ at 9:05pm.

Kind of a slow day. Still very hot, so after my errands in town, dog and i retreated to the house.
Eventually worked up the energy to deal with recycling and trash ... start of another load to the dump.
Friend stopped by with some old produce for the chickens, helped me feed critters and gather eggs - earned a cold beverage :)
Critters are managing in the heat.
Not sure how to fix the oven on the used gas stove that we bought 10 months ago. Does not get to temperature, I think a button was pushed in error, perhaps a blown fuse, I don't use the oven, so not sure yet what the problem is. There are no appliance repair places in town that I can call either. I think it is probably some simple answer or a re-set, but not sure yet.
Getting some new leads on how to get my GEO Tracker running again ... weird, but worth a shot, thinking fuel / tank issue, perhaps a wire.
I've been patiently waiting for my Zero Turn to be ready - fabrication takes time, but my friend (farm equipment repair / service owner) has beenhaving heart issues, a recent heart attack a few days ago, and he is now scheduled for open heart surgery this week. Praying that all goes well. In the scheme of it, the lawn can wait.
My truck tires and rims should be ready shortly - I am learning patience there also
Planning to visit Daughter, SIL, and Grandson tomorrow. Haven't seen them for almost a month, but they are home now, so I will try to spend most of the day with them.
More Bookkeeping to do.
Have a good night everyone.

65° now dew point 55° high’s in the low 80’s today.
Yesterday’s storms dropped .80” rain 👍.
Only had one power blip just enough to reset a couple of clocks, some towns around us had weren’t so lucky and had some tree, pole damage. Most had power back last evening, despite the complaints from some newcomers the electric co-op does a pretty darn good job.

Soon as it dries up it will be time to start the mowing/trimming cycle again. I’m pretty sure I could see everything growing as it was raining yesterday lol.

Enjoy your day everyone

good morning all
the heat has broken, for a little while, 70 out only going up to mid 80's today. Nice to not hear the a/c running last night

friend in hospital gets second scope this morning, upper was clear, almost unfortunately. Lower may find real problems.
Apparently he crash carted the night before with super high BP. He's going to need a heart monitor, maybe more. Strong guy, he will do well.
He's in ICU so I can't go visit but we talk and wife texts me pretty constantly.

I don't eat tv dinners but was fun picking out a whole bunch for neighbor yesterday. Same old stuff, will Salisbury Steak ever go out of style?.....
They also like watermelon so got them some of that. She is not doing well, rejecting a part of new hip and they have to go back in and do it again, or something.
She's lost a lot of weight, and her SO can't drive, severely handicapped from bad motorcycle accident. So they are having a tough time when she can't shop.

One friend going through chemo, one who is trying to get out of ICU and a neighbor not doing well. I'm going to count my blessings.

I really need to mow the lawn but it's just too dry out. Have been waiting for rain that just hasn't come.

those first cherry tomatoes were really yummy, taste totally different from stuff at store.
Onions are disappointing, I can only seem to grow little ones. Never had luck with growing larger onions. Maybe more fertilizer?

up early, drinking leftover coffee with grinds in it. Yuk. going to make a fresh pot. Read somewhere that coffee may be aggravating my tinnitus. Hmmmm.
tough choices

David, hope you are less sore today. Remember we don't bounce like we used to.

74 cloudy and some fog, leftover from yesterday's storms. Got a lot of wind from different direction than usual...more like a hurricane. I was racing to get the chicken off the grill as I saw the wall of rain approaching much faster than usual.

Did some clean up, need to get chainsaw out once things dry out some.

Power was out 6 hours, longer than usual for this type storm, but the map showed a lot of small outages...ours affected 31 customers, but was a subset of an outage group over 1,000.

Buppies and BEF, and others...just read that a new train excursion is opening up on August 4...2 different trips out of Staunton by the Buckingham Branch Railroad Company...uses a modernized 1940s passenger car. Buckingham Branch is the largest short line railroad in Virginia...they run a section of track near me.

One trip takes you through the Blue Ridge Tunnel through the Blue Ridge Mountains and turns around on the Charlottesville side, the Other through the Alleghany mountains and farmland.

3 hour trips, meal, dessert, beverage.
