Good evening all. 76ºF for the start clear sky, light breeze. Light wind, mostly clear sky, and high temp was 97ºF, HI 103ºF. Dog sitting main part of agenda today, had to go get dogs, then bike ride, did not get mowing in. Had to get puppy out of house every 2 hours to avoid accidents, she has not learned to signal it is time yet. No dogs again till Thursday. Slight rain chance in 10day forecast.
RS sounds like you had a great day. Summer temps will be a shock :(

Buppies that is a lot of pills
Billy nice day trip. "R" rule? nice pic.
Scaredy hope you get the Z-turn and truck parts soon. looks like a good thing to let little chic grow bigger. Hope you get wife back soon
Thomas where is video camera when you need it. Love the Boo story.
Lou Hope you can handle being helper till job over.
Drew carbide will be very easy to crack in hand held drill. Stick with cobalt.
RNG glad you are making progress on loose ends on solar system.
PJ good to hear no 100's, sorry about the humidity returning.
Ken good to hear fields mowed, pool time sounds nice. good luck with ground hog.
Drew rain water collection is illegal, City of Dallas already has water rights to it :(
RS Glad Tuesday went well.
Drew Sorry about all the trouble with the spare tire project.
David sorry about hands, glad you are making progress.
Ted glad you got planter installed. Sorry about knee, hope they can help the knee.
Drew not enough pressure will work harden many steel types. Probably why you ended up dulling so many drills. Step drill cuts down on pressure needed to drill.
RS hope Kubota work went well.
Drew glad you are getting reinforcements on that project.
Thomas takes a while for everything to heal and recover.
Dennis nice to be able to work from home.
Drew diamond does not hold up drilling steel.
RNG there are different grades of HS steel as well. And different grades of carbide. The harder the material the better wear resistance, and more likely to crack or chip in none rigid machining setups.
Randy(wag) hope town run and cheese run went well.
RS glad you worked out the replace driveshaft sequence to get it back in tractor. Hope you can get it done soon.
Doug I have tried 3 styles of face masks, Nasal, F200 full face and F30I fulll face. Have had the best luck with F20 full face, staps hold it in place better than the others.

Good Evening

what a wet day... Friday promises to be nicer weather

Sushi for dinner, coffee to follow

rswyan - I use the kiddie pools for the chickens, ducks

Alien - you were close ... apnea - my wife uses a CPAP machine also

mostly_gas - thanks for all of that, I seem to be waiting on a few things. your posts continue to be a great summary for me

it was a busy day, prayers for all concerns

might get a chance to watch the Hockey Game tomorrow.

edit - today was the first time since my badly dislocated left shoulder injury in Sept, that I have had my Buck Knife on my belt. In the past 12 hrs, I have probably used it 7-8x. I had no idea that it was that handy, it's been awhile, I guess.
also update - shoulder is sore, easily tired, but getting there, physio therapist says things are looking good, but recovery is a slow process ... at least 6 more months, I have 4 different exercises with elastic bands, and my next appt is on July 6... I can open most jars now though. oddly, it is still exhausting to pump gas for the vehicle, so I am using my right arm at the gas / diesel pumps. when possible I use full-serve, there is ONE such station in town.

good morning all
61 going up to mid 70's today, clouds and maybe some showers later.
Rain was threatening yesterday and never showed up.

headed down to hardware store for a wheel spacer of some sort, Rube meet Goldberg.
Then home to wash the car.

most of you don't realize how amazingly well equipped Popgadget's shop is. A toyland for most of us.
Plus he knows how to fix just about anything. Might be visiting a friend up his way this week and might take the trailer with me.
Old friend struggling with cancer, first time in months I can see him. Bet he will look gaunt but I'll say he looks great...

RS, I watch some car repair videos and I was thinking of you fixing your tractor, which only a handful of guys here would be capable of doing.
You think you are all ready to change out that part and find out you need to take off six things to get there. And don't lose any ball bearings....

hope you all have a great day, particularly Toppop who we all miss. Get better buddy.

Woman provided an extra set of hands and did some detailing on the B2910 removing grease and goo

wow, now that's a good wife.

65 and mostly cloudy. Humidity returns today and then likely storms as it hits 90.

Buppies, hope your wife is doing better. Usually takes a while after a bad fall.

Kyle, you be Miller man now rather than Steiner man? ...or Steiner-Miller man? Hope kids are staying productive while school's out.

Mostly, what kind of dogs? The R rule is not eating oysters except in months with an "R" in it...essentially cooler months...couldn't wait until September.

Now that the second set of phoebes fledged, was able to get under the shelter and split that recent load of firewood I cut. Still need to build sides on another pallet to stack and move it. Then voted and went to a couple of stores...got a pack of zerks and some diesel and groceries. Voted for a man we've known since he was a kid...feels funny thinking of a kid as your elected official...but now he has kids. It's a great feeling voting for someone you believe in.

Thomas, you have your own zoo there to entertain you. it's wonderful.

My Dad loved his cigars. He died of laryngeal cancer. Moderation. Moderation...it tastes and smells good but it's hard on your throat for sure.
My next older brother is a heavy cigar smoker, just like his Father.
None of us in family have ever smoked cigarettes, so you just hope this venture into tobacco heaven doesn't hurt you.

Until you see your Father sitting at Thanksgiving dinner not able to talk, and not long for this world, it is sort of a shrug. Then it gets personal and you worry
for others. Says the almost obese guy with cancer.
stay healthy everyone. We all know it beats the alternatives.

off to the local hardware store. To get there shortest way is down steep Solebury hill. 35mph and without touching the gas you are quickly going way too fast down
the hill. Some tape lines on road for local police to show you they mean business. (they just applied for a radar exemption. PA local cops prohibited from radar)
So one has to drag one's brakes all the way down the hill. I hate using my brakes, try to predict traffic to minimize use if I can, but am always thinking
wish I had an EV going down this hill, would be regen braking all the way and at least the batteries would get charged. Not now, just grinding off the pads.
So....I go the long way around. Less stop signs, more country.

Good Morning.
It’s 65 and might make it to 75 today. Clear skies now, clouding up later with rain becoming likely by evening.

Yesterday started with a frustrating meeting at the FAA office in Allentown, followed with lunch and a service call with my mechanical contractor buddy. After that, helped him pick up a car (he dropped me off and I drove it to his house).
Next stop was to the airport, the repaving work was completed and we re opened the airport. It took 9 days to mill up the old runway, make repairs to the sub base, and then pave and mark the runway. It used 200,000 tons of blacktop for the job, and it was completed a day early. And….. it was just one of many projects that the contractor had going on. I was impressed with their capability and resources.
