good morning all
lovely day today, sunny and high 80's. Should be a great day for parades.

came out yesterday afternoon to find my neighbor's landlord had brought his zturn over and he mowed the big mess next door, thankfully. So less for me to do.

headed downtown to supermarket, not much planned for today

Youngest brother and his family stayed the night.

Dennis, nice bushhog pic, I always worried about critters in tall grass.
Almost hit a baby deer when mowing fields as teenager, though you would think the noise of tractor and mower would scare the
critters away.
And usually a hawk would show up to make lunch of the moles I stirred up.
I think the tractor running was like a dinner bell to the hawks.

Good morning.
It’s 65 and going to the upper 80’s under sunny skies today.

Yesterday went well, nice view of Philadelphia on departure-

Lots of thunderstorms to the east of us over the Atlantic, a few building to the west.

We elected to make the return trip inland to avoid them all.

Got home early with plans to grease the Progressive mower and add slime to some of the tires, but wife decided we were going to make a BJ’s run. After we got home and put all the plunder away, we got a call from DIL asking if we could watch grandson for a while. That was all the excuse I needed to postpone the mower maintenance. Plan to do that this morning, and then likely mow.

time to get moving, be at hardware store at 8am when they open. Forgot to pick up little flags yesterday.
They may be sold out of them by now.
But it will be a flag day anyway since I have a new flag to put up, one that rotates and hopefully won't wrap around my outside
light fixture like the current one does.
Almost every day I have to go out and unwrap the silly flag.
Told my neighbor across the street about it and she scoffed saying "who cares?"

I am reminded today of how important it is that we all care.
I don't fly a flag for politics, I fly it for those million servicemen Wingsprd spoke of.
This is all about respect.
Today is in their memory, so good day to hoist a new flag.
They are always brighter than what you take down, look like they are starched.

While the flag I fly on the side of my house was made in USA, I doubt the little stick flags are. Maybe.
I'm calling first...cheaper than burning 5 dollar gas to find out they are sold out.

hope you all have a wonderful day with family.

Paul, your pics are always amazing. The City of Brotherly Love. If only it were true.
Going to be mighty warm and sunny out, might have to turn up the a/c dial one notch.
Your grandson is one lucky kid.

Good morning. 65 and going to a high of 88. No clouds in the sky right now.

Remember and honor the reason for Memorial Day.

Got beans to plant today. Probably some cantaloupes and watermelon too.

Made steaks on the grill last night that were exceptional tasting. Used Jack Daniels Beef Rub and a chunk of real butter on top of each one. Very tasty and tender. Wife made a salad with leaf lettuce from the garden. Was quite good.

Everyone stay safe out there!

Nope, they won't move until Mom comes...
When I'm mowing the field, I normally see toads, chipmunks and assorted other small critters. Only saw a fawn once, by the tree line, IIRC. That was a few years ago. I just slow or stop for a minute or so and let them move on.
Last year, my stepdaughter convinced me to leave half the field natural. She's a animal rights freak that, surprisingly, eats meat (I'm the vegetarian of the family...and I'm not 100% vegetarian).
As the only thing I do (other than mow) on the field is shoot at a small pistol range I constructed, I was fine with her request.
This year, due to diesel prices, I think the critters will have the whole field. If I want to shoot, I'll use the Gator (also a diesel, but very frugal with fuel) as my shooting stand

Morning all , sun is out for another nice warm day.
Got the trimming done along the road and shared driveway and planted some more tomatoes and forsythia.
Seem the deer like to eat the forsythia, so not very deer resistant. Ours eat almost all the listed "resistant" plants, only the poisonous ones make it unscathed.
Though something did try and eat a few daffodils and probably was not happy for a few days.

Happy Memorial day. And remembering some of my Air force buddies today.
