Didn’t feel like it, but got battery replaced in the truck. Have to unbolt a bracket above battery to get it out. As soon as I connected negative the horn alarm went off. I remember that from last battery replacement.

Didn’t see date on battery, but truck is 2008 with 49k miles, and this is 3rd battery including original.

Got the scag running, not sure if just the contacts or the switch itself, but have a new key switch on order. I managed to spray some contact cleaner inside (accidently) before I tested. When it tested OK, I d
Figured I try to get a bet better inside before reinstalling. Wasn’t sure what I was going to test next, maybe solenoid, but gave the key a twist and it started right up. Did get a couple hours mowing with it. Sure was a beautiful day to be out in the sun and air.

So that's about 25,000miles per battery. With batteries in the range of $125 and up that's about .5 cents /mile.

Good early arvo. Woke up to a wee fog, 2C low. It's now clear sky, 16C and calm.

Laundry day (doing my "dhobi" = Navy slang :) ) and a dental check-up later on. I'm tempted to mow the front exercise paddock before a rain event is predicted for Thursday/Friday.

Take care all!

I figure 7 years for a battery is pretty good.

Good evening all. 74ºF for the start, partly cloudy, windy. Windy day gusting over 30, mostly clear sky, and high temp was 89ºF, HI 99ºF. Fish shocking called off due to high winds, went for bike ride, forgot spare tube, and tire lever broke take tire off :( got ride back to house from friend, changed out tube, patch failed, changed tube again, now it is holding. Found 3 objects embedded in tire, at least one caused flat. A/C guy showed while working on tire, Freon fixed A/C. Had repair crew coming back to area this afternoon and they put stop-leak in system. Finished bike ride when 2nd tube worked, ordered two new tubes and levers from Amazon. Cleaned chain and fresh lube getting ready for Katy trip. Thought I was going to see former coworker on trip, today found out he has pre lymphoma, and undergoing chemo. Possible get together on way home, will know Wednesday when I call as I start home. Did get nap in.

Randy(wag) hope dental visit went well.
I've got an old fashion, get-off-you-arse-and-look-at-it, tubular gauge mounted out in the corner of a paddock. It's well away from any trees or structures. :) The official BoM 'automated' gauge at the aerodrome only measures in 0.2mm increments and I'm sure that it 'rounds up'.

As to the dentist, all went well and, regarding the teeth that I've got left, I'm doing great. The dentist really didn't need to do much of a 'clean' and no 'scaling'. He did encourage me to consider a "Metal" lower denture to support some upper molars. I'll think about it and call my health insurance to see how much they'd cover.

The front paddock mowing has been put off until tomorrow.

Good morning, low temp is 53 and going to a high of 75°F. Wind SE11 mph. Sunny!

Off to the garage this morning to get my annual oil change and tire swap for the Dodge. I am 14 days early this year.
Normally I don't get that done until after May 24 weekend.

After the oil change I will go to the hydraulic shop in Sundridge and see if he will drill the holes on the channel iron for the trailer. One of the holes on each piece is 3/4" and I don't have a bit that big.

Tomorrow is a trip to North Bay and the spring shop, get new glasses and some mid month grocery shopping. This will be juniors last shopping trip in North Bay until I come home in fall. He doesn't drive and the neighbour that he was relying on for that trip just scrapped her car. It was a PoS anyway. Pretty much everything was wrong with it and she couldn't afford the $1,000.oo it was going to cost her for a new fuel pump.

The platform that the greenhouse sat on has been dismantled and will get repurposed as a floor in the tractor shed. The greenhouse had a 6x8' footprint. It is all packaged up in the original carton and is ready for the pet rescue place to pick up.

All you that are ailing, get better soon.

Have a safe day

A typical spring morning here. 34F and no rain, snow nor hail - yet. It 100% overcast - sure could use some sunshine.
