Working on my international license and all the hoky for visiting europe.

BEF - Didn't you wear you gang colors so hospital neighbor felt more at home?

Boss meet was strange- I hope she is more seasoned then this meeting showed.

Stay safe and be well,

Breezy 21 going to 28...muted sunshine through thin clouds. Ground is really frozen. Snowed most of the day, but melted on contact...still have a little on the ground from the last storm.

Roy, I read that movie info...sounds interesting based on a true story.

Raccoons stole the cedar bird feeder I made for peanut butter/suet/corn meal that I make...I found the other two feeders they took down last night. They've been well behaved until now, just eating seeds off the ground.

Buppies, seems that weather models that are looking out only a day or two and climate models looking out years aren't always correct. Mother nature and the big yellow sun like to fool us sometimes.

Did get a short hike in during the snow...surveying more of the tree damage from the storm back on January 2...plan to take the tractor and chainsaw and work on it today.

With all the talk about riding trains, I guess I'll chime in a bit.

When I was still a baby in 1940, my Dad took a job with the Social Security Administration in Baltimore, MD. He went there alone from Ardmore, OK on a train, found a place to live, started the job, then sent for Mother (remember no telephones, no cell phones in those days, just the US mail, or telegrams, for contacts) so Mother took me on the train to Chicago, changed there, and on to Baltimore, hoping Dad got her letter and would meet the train; he did. Now my sister was born only a year and a half after I was, and before she was born Mother took me on the train back to Ardmore, OK. And as soon after my sister's birth as Mother felt able to travel, we went back to Baltimore. I'll never forget someone asking Mother if it wasn't a terrible job traveling on the train with 2 babies, and Mother said, "Nope, the trains in the early '40s were always full of soldiers and they played with the babies and i was able to relax."

Very shortly after my wife and I got married, her aunt and uncle, with whom she had been living in Dallas before our wedding, moved to Denver, CO. He told us that if I would drive one of their cars from Dallas to Denver for him, he'd buy us train tickets back to Dallas. So in 1965, we took an overnight train ride from Denver to Dallas; the only train TRIP I can remember.

But I sure spent a lot of time close to train engines. My paternal grandfather met every train passing through Ardmore, OK for many, many years, put the outgoing mail on the train and took the incoming mail from the train back to the post office. I went with him many, many times as a youngster and as the train stopped, he'd pull right up beside it to off load the outgoing mail and load the arriving mail. In later years, when I worked for the post office in Dallas, I sometimes had to go meet the train (wearing a pistol that I'd have never used under any circumstances) to receive or send vauable registrered mail.

Good Morning.
It’s 12 outside, clear skies and going all the way to 24.

Yesterday started with my breakfast date, then the rest of the day in the shop, except for a lunch excursion. Got a lot done, air system is holding up great. Finished up all the documents I was working on, now just have to wait for the review. Picked up an improved air filter for the new compressor and the last chore was to exercise the carryall and the trash toter lifter to put the toters out at the end of the lane.

Today, I drew the short straw and get to go to Ogdensburg, NY where it will be -12. The good news it that they don’t have either a heated hangar or ground power unit, so we are dropping the passengers off, and going to Burlington, VT to wait until 8pm for the return trip. It’s far more civilized there, we will be able to get a car and go out to dinner, and wait in a nice lounge.
Other than that trip, which departs at 1:30 I’ve got nothing planned for the morning. Probably get gas in the car which will add to the hour drive to the airport, so I won’t get into anything complicated.

I think I'm around the Florida line, can't tell, still dark out and train tracker doesn't seem to work.
Drew on my short train ride I just hit the "map" on my iPhone and it told exactly where we were and even moved as the train moved.

Good morning! 23˚F mostly sunny heading to the 40s. Getting mentally prepared for an Egore session.

Wngsprd no one in the weather world wants to discuss the SE ridge. . It is very strong this year. Cold fronts come warm up happens pretty quick afterwards. I do not see this changing. Snow comes snow goes or doesn’t come at all. The American model is doing much better this year than the once king euro.

Notice; The strength of the high in the Atlantic, arctic front stalls out on coast kinda of unusual leading to possible ice storm in coastal SC

Hopefully I did not bore anyone with this
