Good morning!!!!

Good morning! 37˚F in this hill county valley, clear skies, heading to the 70s.

I did not get to start the dill kale chips last night because it called for overnight soaking of the cashews before blending them with the dill. The first thing this morning will be to get the coating blended and the kale cut and start the dehydrating process. I was going to take small packages to the WFPB meeting but the last batch only made 4 packages after we "sampled" them, at that rate I would need 15 days to make the 60 bags.

While walking the Whip, my phone Ring alert alerted that someone approached the front door. Whipper's walk got cut short as I was expecting my wife's Christmas present from UPS. I got it before she saw the alert. Whew, close call . . .

RS - " . . .something launched in the transmission/drivetrain of the Kubota."
RS unless you're Elon Musk, something launching is never good.

Good morning, low temp 43 and high to 46°F. Wind SSW 9 mph. 30% chance of showers. It is raining now.

My M 416 trailer is full of junk from the neighbour ladies shed. Although she has a receiver on her heap, she doesn't have the necessary connector for the lights nor does she have a pintle hitch for pulling the trailer. This is a good thing. IF it isn't raining too hard me and the young lad will take it to the dump today around noon or so.

My PC crapped out last week. New motherboard and cpu, new ddr4 ram on its way to me. Then yesterday my Sennheiser headphones crapped out. New ones on their way. I'm using beats right now but I don't like them. Sennheisers are way more comfortable to me.

About all I am going to do today is the dump run.

Have a safe day all

39°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 49° today. Possibility of some snow flurries later today. Cool for the weekend, but back in the upper 60s by Tuesday.

No idea what that tube is they're bending in that video, Drew. We're making heat exchanger tubes for a furnace manufacturer on ours, using 2" round 18ga aluminized steel tube.

46F and partly cloudy @ 10:30, headed up to a high of 56F for the day. Calling for winds out of the Southwest with gusts @ 15 - 25 mph. Will factor that into any leaf clean up activities ... ;)

We had 0.58" of rain yesterday, ground is probably still wet ... but it might not be too bad, given how long the dry period was that preceded it. The winds should help to dry it up some. High ground is probably decent, low spots probably need to be avoided.

Need to get those two sunflower tube feeders filled today. May go ahead and relocate the pole that those are on, over closer to the hopper feeder.

Also trim up that apple tree that the buck tore up and get a cage around it.

Plus more bulb planting. Some of the bulbs I have are pretty small (squill, grape hyacinth, some of the daffodils) and don't need to be planted all that deep. Think I may have one of Grandpa's old auger bits - probably 3/4" inch - up in the shop, will have to see if I can located that. Using something a little smaller will probably help on the battery life.

Beyond that, further research on Kubota problem. Several observations related to that:

1. All three ranges in the transmission work and will move the tractor. But it will sometimes make a grinding noise and can lock up hard (won't move)

2. Changing ranges has not always gone entirely smoothly in the past.

3. There is a driveshaft that I can see from the operator's station. Could either the output shaft from the engine/clutch to the HST or the output shaft from the HST to the front axle. Need to verify which it is. It spins whether FWD is engaged or not, need to verify whether engaging the clutch stops it from spinning. Also want to check and see if both the mid and rear PTO's still spin under power.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... (y)

61 and hard rain/cold front just passed through, but just light rain now. Should clear up and hit 69.

Nice ... (y)

RS, sorry about your tractor...and you seem to use it everyday

It does get a lot of use.

...do you have a back-up?

Nope.

Nothing beyond the Cub Cadet at this point.

Cub can be used for some tasks we used to use the Kubota for, but it ain't gonna blow snow or do any loader work.

Consolidated all my To-Do lists into an Outdoor one and an Indoor one...that about wore me out. 😁

Enjoy the weather while you can ... ;)

Very fond of kale chips. But somehow there is just not enough of them to justify the work in making them. LOL

RS, about an hour from here West of Philadelphia are some amazing gardens that most of us locally have visited
at some point over the years. Their Christmas displays are magical, hopefully they will be open this year.

Quite the place ... very beautiful ... (y)

as you keep planting away, I keep thinking you are making your own Longwood Gardens.

LOL ... I wish ... ;)

If one is a gardener, it's great fun. Particularly with a good cordless auger planter...

Yes, I find the activity of gardening incredibly enjoyable.

Even though there is a good amount of pain involved due to the bending over.

and you will be happy to know they say now is the time to plant bulbs.

Yes and no:

Glad the ground isn't frozen and there's still time to get it done.

Not too excited about being out there in cold doing it though.

Good luck on the cheese ... a good cheese is very hard to resist.

primary doc just upped my statin dose because I was just over the line this time. No. Up for over an hour last night with leg cramps, had to sit in shower with hot water running
on legs to get them to relax, the very reason I reduced the dose last time. I really don't want to have to have mustard on my dessert every night... this is the third time I've tried to up the dose
and have had to retreat. Guess I'd better cut back on the cheese...

Cheese is the number one food source of cholesterol raising fat.

good cheese
good bread
so much I shouldn't eat
I'm going to try tuna and chicken salad for awhile, skip the lunchmeat, which is usually turkey,
and the two slices of swiss or mozzarella on top. I guess that adds up to a lot of cheese if you do that
four or five times a week.

rain is done, sun is out with some mid day brightness lighting up the low lying clouds fying by.
what's interesting is the lower clouds are going in one direction and there is an entirely different layer of clouds higher up
going in almost the opposite direction. Lots of fluffy and wispy white clouds flying by
.51 on the rain gauge
