Is that an EA grapple?
Yep, sure is a wicked 55.

BEF, glad you got that tree moved. Sorry you can't use all of the firewood.

Could you fill the tanker half way and just circulate from the pump back into the tank with out a nozzle, maybe a valve partially shut to build pressure. Let it circulate a while then pump it out to flush the system?Good Morning!!!! 71F @ 6:30AM. Plenty of sunshine. High near 95F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.
No rain in the 10-day forecast, but at least the Red Flag Warning has expired. There was a fire six miles from here, a structure that spread to the surrounding brush, but firefighters and aircraft got right on it and stopped it at 2.5 acres. Winds were blowing with gusts to 45 MPH, and I was directly down wind. Whew!
If you liked that sushi, Kyle, look for unagi next time. It is smoked, broiled eel, and it's delicious.
I sure hope all these shortages and delays are not the new normal. Here, at least, the CV19 hospitalization numbers are still climbing, and less than half the people are fully vaccinated. We could be in for a very bad winter.
If it's a Wicked 60, Paul, the wait will be worth it. I have yet to bend anything on the 66 I got earlier this year, and I've abused the heck out of it. Still good as new, but missing a fair amount of paint.
Geese aren't known for their good housekeeping, Eric. There's a campground in the foothills that the geese take over in the winter. It's in wine country, and in years past we'd visit the local grocery store just prior to Thanksgiving to stock up on local wines they would have on sale. Then retire to the campground for a cook out and more wine tasting. Always had to be careful where we stepped, and not much sleep due to the continuous honking.
The past few nights, a mouse has been raising a ruckus in the attic above the kitchen. Likely it's gotten into the vent piping above the range, again. Might have to take it apart and see what I find today.
On top of that, the neighbor now seems to be using one of those agricultural canons to frighten animals away from his marijuana crop. It runs all night, with a loud bang going off at random every 10-30 seconds. Very considerate, no?
Got some seat time grading out the trench line and spreading fresh gravel around the pump house area yesterday. Then moved the fire truck back to its spot, and got it fired up. It started easily, thanks in no small part to the Battery Saver I keep hooked up to it. Used it to pump a 50 gallon barrel full of water, then moved the suction line to the barrel and added a pint of Ivory Snow soap. I let it run at about 1500 RPM for a half hour, then moved the suction line to draw off the line up to the new high tank. Installed a nozzle on the discharge line and let fly. Had a good strong stream reaching out about 50', then it choked off to a dribble as the nozzle filled with rust. The fine screen mesh I had over the intake line had some rust particles trapped in it, but evidently the mesh was not fine enough. Another mesh screen in the nozzle was blown out, and the rust clogged the aerator portion of the nozzle. Think I'll give the folks that made the pump a call today and see if they have any suggestions for cleaning up the pump.
Happy Hump Day, folks!
That's pretty much what I did yesterday, using the barrel instead of the tank. I thought the gauze like stainless steel mesh over the intake hose would be enough to catch the rust, but evidently not.Could you fill the tanker half way and just circulate from the pump back into the tank with out a nozzle, maybe a valve partially shut to build pressure.
