good morning all
radar doesn't show much yet but another system coming in this afternoon with more rain. 68 going up to 86.
We sure don't need it. When half an inch of rain is predicted to create flash flood alerts, one knows the ground
is really saturated.

have paperwork to do this morning, still working on laptop software issues, think I have a zoom meeting with a tech late this afternoon.
I have no desire to have anything to do with gmail, this will be for school board communication only, as I've never had problems with my
hotmail account. They probably read my mail too...

hope Margeaux and Whipper are both feeling better

I loaned out my little ozone generator to two friends with wet basements and they both were amazed how well it worked, and both went and bought one
for themselves. Just have to be careful using it and get out of house for awhile. Lot of damp basements around here and the ozone gets rid of the funky smell for at least a month.
I use a floor fan to move the air around while operating, and usually come back to the house an hour later. I'm sure there are things to avoid, like using around plants or pets, but to
kill the mold microbes, this gizmo really works.

64 going to 87.

Hope Margeaux gets well soon.

BEF, new tires are a real treat...too bad so expensive.

Took a long hike and then roasted coffee yesterday. A good day.

Just came in from running a skunk off from the front yard...same one I've gotten on my trail cam the last few days...big white stripe and an unusual gray tail.

Bird, enjoy your cool weather, you are welcome to take the heat back anytime you like.

I am just not used to all this sunshine and humidity, the workshop and shed are uncomfortably warm too. With plenty of leaves still on the branches, I should be spoilt for choice looking for a bit of shade to hide in this afternoon and take time out to do nothing much. Only slight issue is the sheep have a tendency to monopolise the best trees.

You know how people claim places around a busy pool with towels on sun loungers ? Well these sheep do something similar around the oaks by the big pond, except instead of towels they use - poop. I know many like pictures, but you really don't want pictures of that, particularly while the grass is so lush :giggle:

Good Morning.
It’s 61 with a high of 82 and rain showers likely this afternoon.

Yesterday went well, nice breakfast for youngest son’s birthday, got all the mowing done, had fun with my helper, fueled and checked the fluids on the machinery in case one of the boys decides to mow while I’m gone.

This morning I’ve got a zoom meeting, but then nothing else planned until I head out around 2:30. I was looking through old pictures and found this one of my son in front of the same hangar that the picture of him with me and his son was taken.

Now I’ll have to take the same picture with my grandson!

For the next couple weeks I won’t have much to report on, every day will be the same, with the old dog trying to learn new tricks, but I guess I can keep you updated on the weather in Wichita.

Good Morning!!!! 81F @ 4:30 AM. Sunny. High around 105F. Winds light and variable.

Sounds like the grass is getting plenty of fertilizer, Eric.🤢

I haven't figured out a way to avoid spilling hydro fluid at change time either, Ted. I try to keep one of the give away tarps from HF on hand and drive the tractor onto it to keep the oil off the concrete. A couple of 5 gallon buckets catch the oil, and it always splashes at the change over. Funny thing about the fluid, though, any that gets on the cement anyway seems to evaporate in a few days.

Got an email from the Apple repair center yesterday, asking for the firmware password to the machine, and a copy of the purchase receipt. The password was easy, but I couldn't even find an e-copy of the receipt. Fortunatly I was able to download one from B&H Photo Video's website.

I also got a letter from the sheriff's office, accusing me of having an unpermitted alarm system. I downloaded a copy of the cancelled check from June, pointed out that they had both the address and the spelling of my name wrong, and to please update their records. Makes me nervous depending on data sources outside my immediate control, but that's the way of the world these days, isn't it?

Bike ride was really nice yesterday. Temps hadn't quite gotten to boiling yet, there was no traffic on the road, and the fire damage I'd expected to see wasn't that severe after all. I did go by one roadside turnout where they were processing fire killed trees, huge piles of them, leaving behind huge piles of chips. I wonder how much, if any, of that timber will find its way into the construction lumber trade?

With things running so well on the bike, I went ahead and made a motel reservation for Thursday night down on the coast, and from there I'll meet up with the Airheads the next day after just a couple hundred miles of quiet back roads. Temperatures are supposed to moderate as the week progresses, so fingers crossed it's not a scorcher.

No progress on filling trenches, as it was noon and over 100F by the time I got home from the bike ride. Maybe I'll get a start this morning, but it didn't really cool off very much last night, so quality time with the shovel might be limited.

I keep forgetting to mention I finally got the clock fixed on the solar power system. It was still an hour off on the previous attempt, but once I set the time zone offset to Zulu -7 instead of Zulu -8, the generator self tested at noon like it should. Might be the system doesn't really account for Daylight Savings Time like the manual says it should?

Hump Day already!

Morning all, heavy rains predicted for last night did not happen, at all....
Didn't get much done yesterday.

Roy-our dog had bad kennel cough, bit of antibiotics and all well in a few days.
RNG - still get permit warning notices from police at our old house, tell them every year for 6 years that I've moved.

Stay safe and be well

They plugged the tire, it was new a month ago. No cost this time.

Drank both cups of coffee. 56° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 76° with sunny skies. Storm came thru my town yesterday about 8:30 pm. Lost power for a few minutes. But internet was out until a few minutes ago. Also stopped cell towers from working. Town is completely without power. I live out in township. We have power. Have a vet appointment for Sassy today. Annual check up. Will have to see if they will be open. I did get my weeding done yesterday. Need to pick up some branches today.

70F and cloudy @ 09:45, heading up to a high of 78F. No rain since midnight, and they're only calling for a 15% chance today. Better chances tomorrow @ 40%, as the cold front moves through ?

24-Hour Average Soil Temperature back up to 71.3F after yesterday's warm weather.

Ten Day looking good with smooth sailing after the chances of rain tomorrow.

Finished ditch clean out for neighbor first thing yesterday.

Then finished mowing lower front.

After that I worked on screening more compost, screened compost pile fully replenished ... (y)

Hauled a couple more bucketloads of dirt down to the pole barn.

Got a little more than half of the front gutter on the barn cleaned out just before it got dark.

After that I ran down to Menards and picked up order. Was supposed to get three sticks of 1/2" x 20' rebar, they only had two (inventory showed four) Got them to give me two 10' sticks to cover it though ... ;)

Sun is currently trying to peek out.

Agenda for today:

Probably roll dice and try to get spraying done over around pole barn, driveway, woods, and fence line.

Further work on rock wall removal and/or hauling more dirt down.

Then maybe take a stab at PHD mounted on the Kubota and drilling those planting holes for the forsythias.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... (y)
