Good morning!!!!

for those of you who bicycle, I'm sure you've had a few critters come chasing after you, likely
mostly dogs but anything else?
Mostly, I hope you are wearing a gopro if this happens to you:

I believe forever stamps are going from 55 to 58
local post offices rarely have anything interesting.
I special ordered a couple sheets of old pickup trucks, they
were fun to use. After decades of putting the American flag on, using those roles of 100.
when stamps were cheaper...
usually the best I can find are some flower stamps.

Good Morning!!!! 71F @ 5:30 AM. Mainly sunny. High 101F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.
Yesterday's Fire Weather Warning is today's Red Flag Warning, expiring Saturday night. Same story: Low, single digit humidity, 100F temps, and windy. Gonna be some "active" days on the fire lines. At least the winds will remain out of the south and west, which brings moderately cleaner air with it.

Last week I read somewhere that the WHO is calling on first world countries to delay third shots for 8 months so that vaccine supplies to underdeveloped countries would remain available. What I haven't read yet is much about how long immunity lasts for those that have had two doses, or those that have had CV19. Time to hit the MedCram videos and bone up.

Speaking of MedCram, anybody heard from Chris (pennwalk) lately?

Welcome Torvy; sounds like good advice to me...

Drew, I think those numbers for dimensional lumber refer to the rough sawn size. When they plane it smooth, they lose the quarter inch.

Happy to read the new truck is workin' out, Buppies. Braking and acceleration up to snuff, too? That's a lot of weight to be doin' anything quick.

Dropped by a fastener store yesterday while I was in town. For once, there was only one guy in front of me, when usually there are several. They still do things the old fashioned way, asking you what you want, then disappearing back into the cavernous warehouse to hunt down what you need. Then write it up by hand on a paper two part form, update a paper inventory sheet, and ring it up on an old fashioned cash register. Takes longer, but makes time for some pleasant conversation, something that's harder to come by in this computerized wonder age. Guy in front of me had an old Stanley saw tooth setter with what looked like a 10x28 thread he needed a nut for. The store didn't have one, so I suggested he check with Brownell's, who carry lots of odd ball stuff like that.

Exchanged the argon/CO2 bottle while I was in town yesterday, too. Went to the counter of the place to make the arrangements, and they sent a big strapping young man out with me to get the old bottle. He grabbed the thing out of the back and swung it up on his shoulder like there was nothing to it. Dropped it into a rack of empties, got a full one, and rolled it on its edge, giving it a little kick with every other step as he went. Then lifted it for me into the back of the pickup. The last exchange was at a different supplier where the clerk refused to even help me lift the bottle in. I told him I wouldn't be back, and with great service at this new place, I won't be.

TGIF gang!

RNG the truck is two years old first big load I’ve pulled with it probably about 500 pounds over no trouble stopping it and as I’m not aggressive never went over 70 speed limit 65 handled better than my F250. The torque was phenomenal

Morning all, sunny but calling for more storms-lots of lightning last night but no noticeable rain
Took the saw out and started cutting up one of the felled Ash trees.

While cutting through under the crotch (which is easily 3 feet across at the crotch base) the saw clutch started smoking. So got about half cut up. Saw seems ok, but need to slow it down for the CS490 with a 20" chain. May throw the 18" bar on it for bucking and only use the 20" for felling.

I have a agreement with my tree guy, he drops them, I buck most of them, he did chip the branches for 2 trees. But figure I save about $500/tree for the 5 he left behind for me to cut up.

Boy was it hot out, took a long time for both me and the saw to cool down.

Mostly - Great-granddaughter- wow- that is so cool - must be a lot of fun with family get togethers. Our family is small and no grand children yet.

Roy- hope Margeaux pickup goes well, she is going to a great home with you!

Alien - allergies are a pain- almost shut me down a few weeks back. Maybe a room air filter will help

Drew - be careful of the permit police on shed- make sure they "know" you just fixed up the "current" shed that was there. Also, they will expect to see anchors holding it down. I have a few if you need them.

The worst for bicycling for me are birds. had a pigeon fly into my spokes once, stopped the bike quick and wasn't too good for the pigeon either.
Other was a turkey vulture, they loop around when scared off. Car drove by, he took off, looped around and came back right when I was passing by, close enough I could smell him, almost knocked me off the bike.

Buppies - our prayers that these spots are easily removed and done and not cancer

Stay safe and be well.

I’ve been looking at modern TIG welders to replace the Miller DialArc HF that I’ve had for the last 30 years or so. I’m looking at a Primeweld 225, it appears to be a very capable machine with great reviews, other than being Chinese, there appears to be no downside. Does anybody here have any thoughts or experience with the Primeweld?
Never heard of Primeweld, but Miller's been in business forever. I bet you can still get parts for your DialArc, and you might even get parts for the Primeweld now. But what about in ten years, let alone 30 when your son needs 'em?

That thought crossed my mind, I’m not a fan of anything made out of Chinesium, but the Primeweld is so cheap ($825) for a machine with its capabilities that I could buy several and still be ahead. They get great reviews, going back several years, that’s what is tempting. Plus, I’m gonna keep the DialArc.

94/110 just lovely out

might sneak out later for a trip to ice cream shop in Stockton NJ, Cravings, meeting my first wife and her husband
and cooling off the heat wave

storms coming though and a high tomorrow of 75 in more rain, quite the switch
