what a picture Ron, (y)

PT and supermarket done, now killing time til 11am when a local cigar shop opens and I'm headed there in Lahaska.
Never smoked one in my life and unlikely ever to, but it's my brother's birthday and he is hard to buy for.
don't know whether to get him a sampler pack or one expensive cigar. Really depends upon their stock, chain store with 19 locations.
And here we are with a father who died of laryngeal cancer from smoking cigars. (Don we can lead them to water...)
I suppose I'm encouraging/enabling his bad habit but we're in our 70's and I think we are going to enjoy some of life's pleasures a little more.

At least he and his wife are healthy eaters and very active, so some risk factors are lower.

Lovely day out, PT went well, Helga made me groan but all good. Slowly the shoulder is loosening up but she sure finds all the sore spots.

My SIL is from NM near Ted and she was complaining in some general way of Texas restricting water in the Rio Grande so NM got less. ??
Anyone downstream always complains...

I guess I can't imagine what living without enough water is like. East Coast never seems to have this problem.
Geez it looks grim for California, RNG best wishes everything stays away from you and maybe you should start wearing your mask

66°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 88° today. No rain in the forecast here for the foreseeable future.

Everything here was a wet mess from the rains on Thursday and Friday, so not a lot of options on outside tasks on Saturday. Going to need a few days of drying time. Spent much of the day working in the studio, and it was productive time.

Sunday was originally planned as a kayaking day, but waiting for other people kind of spoiled that opportunity. Not a lot of 82° days in the middle of July, but so it goes. I did finally get to take the line trimmer for a long walk, then pulled some weeds and trimmed up some tree branches on the other side of the pond. It never got very warm, but the 80% humidity made me feel like I was swimming around the yard. Pores definitely got a good flushing.

The boy finally got the rest of his stuff moved in last night. Wife is already stressed over it. He was one of the people we waited on most of the day, and he didn't show up until about 8:30pm. Wife gave him a good tongue lashing over it, noting that we didn't go kayaking because we were waiting on him. It's apparent that not much has changed responsibility-wise since he moved out, which is what is stressing The Wife. The "plan" is for him to stay with us long enough to save some money and find another place that he can afford without a roommate. I honestly don't see this working out very well. But, here we go.

Happy (early) Anniversary, Phil.

I’ve noticed your post times in the past. You are indeed an early bird person.

Do you not need much sleep or do you go to bed early? I’ve known 2 friends over the years who needed little sleep - like 5 hours a day. They went to bed around midnight and woke at 5am.

I'm up early so I can get a cup (or 2) of coffee, spend 45 minutes on the internet and grab a shower before heading to work.
I work 50 miles south of where I live, so that's an hour's drive in good weather.
I like to be at work by 0600 (an hour before my official start time) to catch up on e-mails and such

Always was an early bird, since my Navy days. I'm normally in the rack by 2000 nightly

PJ
You will need the Patience Of Job.
And the humor of Rodney Dangerfield
And the forgiveness of your supreme being.
I'm sure you will do fine. ;)
At least at times you can put your headsets on and just
go off in the wonderful musical moment. You might find our other Paul there.

I was thinking...is the audio quality on Zoom high quality digital? Can two people in different locations
see each other playing, all playing together , and hear the combined result realtime?
Lag/latency would likely mess that up.

Yesterday morning, when the air quality was rated Hazardous, I was spraying Glyphosate while wearing an N95 rated spray mask that also sported charcoal canisters. Couldn't smell a thing, except when I took it off in the garage before I came in. Since the Glyphosate lawsuits started, I've been wearing that mask, regardless of the air quality outside.

This morning the air still looks to be a mess outside, but with an Unhealthy rating of only 159 PPM, it's a LOT better than yesterday's peak of 440 PPM. It's been mostly good overnight, too, enough so that the Dyson filter in the great room shut it self off until just a few minutes ago. Now it's going full blast.

The view from the front porch yesterday afternoon. First time I've been able to see the Dixie Fire cloud from the house.

Just checked, and the fire almost doubled in size overnight, going to more than 30,000 acres from 18,000. It's covered ground north of Bucks Lake that escaped last summer's Bear Fire, but firefighters are going to have a real battle to save the lake.

In other news, PG&E has been linked to the start of the Dixie Fire.
