My niece and her infant son have come down with covid. She was vaccinate. She has lost taste and smell and the baby's temp got up to 102.5. They were coming for a visit this coming weekend.

Which vaccine did she get?

Good Morning
It’s 68 headed to 78 with isolated thunderstorms today.
We got a little less than 1/2” of rain overnight.

Yesterday was hot and humid with rumbles of thunder all day, but for the most part the rain missed us.

We got the steel plates up and in place, as well as all but 4 bolts installed. The trick was getting the 12” wide beam drilled dead square so the holes were aligned with the plates on both sides. Slow going, but with only 4 to go they all lined up. It was no fun lifting the steel up into place, but we got it done.
IMG_6841.jpg

There is about half of the beam visible in the picture, it continues to the left past the post. Hoping to get the last 4 done this afternoon.

Today will be in the shop until I get the call to finish the steel. I’ve only got one speaker in progress and no confirmed orders, as the supply of materials is pretty much the same as Drew’s Ridgeline.
No drivers, and crossover components are spotty. I’m honestly looking forward to the calm, I’ve got quite a bit of cleaning and organizing to do do.
Big excitement is that my mechanical contractor buddy is most likely going to buy a new Kubota KX057 excavator today.

Good Morning!!!! 70F @ 4:30AM. Sunny. High 102F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph.
Yesterday's high "only" made it to the century mark. Looks like more of the same today.

Looks like you made out pretty well on the router, RS. Not a lot left in terms of accessories to buy, 'cept maybe a router table.

Good on you, Doug. There are a lot of folks out there that are down on their luck just looking for a hand up.

Glad to hear of Cavendish's come back, Eric. He's had a string of disappointments in past years, and it's good to see he's finally figured out a winning combination. I'm a fan, but don't have time to watch the start-to-finish coverage being offered on the satellite channel. I think Doug is offering you some sound advise for next winter. 😄

If it bleeds, it leads, but it's too bad the media still needs to take that tack with CV19. This new variant is more virulent, but from what I can gather, the fatality rate is much lower, especially for those that have been vaccinated.

Sounds like you've got a good system for dealing with the deerflies, Billy. Maybe need a hat with a chin strap, though? Apple gives away the OS now; didn't used to be that way. But they're still monkeying with the underlying disk formatting, and that's what's killing off older versions of the software. My Adobe stuff is really old, and they've gone over to a subscription basis now, so it's time for me to move on. I feel pretty safe with the new power system, and the generator's so quiet I seldom notice it coming on for the every Friday run tests. I've got a bad feeling about the chances of another fire here this year, especially with all the new starts I'm seeing every day. And the Sugar Fire out of the Beckworth Complex is another example where the Forest Service screwed around trying to get containment while it was still small instead of jumping on it and putting it out. The wind came up and it's now almost 100,000 acres, with very low containment, and the poor people of Doyle have lost their town because of mismanagement.

Had to replace the rubber boot over the front u-joint on the zebra bike yesterday, a fiddly job that's more ritualistic than most. The drive shaft is an aftermarket improvement on the original that comes with zerk fittings on the u-joints, but it has to come out of the swing arm for lubrication. Getting it back in can be a problem because it's a tight fit and even the slightest bump to the rear u-joint will knock it out of alignment and the splines won't slip back together. Yesterday I held my tongue just right and got it on the first try.(y) The new boots are stiff and sized such that from the looks of them you'd think they'd never stretch enough to fit. But if you set it up just right and use the right hook, they'll pop right on. It took a few tries yesterday, but I've done much worse in the past on that part, too. I was done with the job before lunch, and it wasn't even that hot out in the garage.

Might have found a pretty good deal on the wire I need, but haven't heard back from the seller yet. McMaster didn't get the extra fittings I needed into the box that showed up yesterday, but the gal there says they'll be here today. Dinged me for an extra ten bux shipping, but that's my fault for not getting 'em on the original order.

Not sure what's on the agenda for today, just take it as it comes I suppose...

Good morning! 68˚F heading to the low 90s. no rain yesterday, cloudy today.
Covid cases are increasing in our county and we have moved back up a level to the orange level. Most people coming down with covid are 18-30.

Thanks for the well wishes and prayers for my niece and her baby. Wngsprd, she is Christy's sister and Randy she had the Pfizer vaccine.

Road trip to Mom's today if it does not rain and maybe get some tin up on the damaged barn. Dad's slightly used tin pile is a haven for snakes so I am ready for a snake surprise.

Continuing the second quarter in H&F I'm in 3rd place after the 4 wins last week. Two people got 5 wins. I only had 3 wins last night and most likely slipped down on the ranking's list. All 5 games were very close.

82, feels like 94 T 8 AM. High of 94 later. No rain here since Friday night, none expected until at least Saturday afternoon.
Discovered a low rear tire on the Toro, seems the valve stem is bad. I ordered a valve stem kit with several tools and stems, caps and cores. I lost all mine in the fire four years ago.
I was goinG to take the wheel off today but the a/c is not cooling the shop very well in this heat lately. I have a guy coming to look at as soon as he catches up, probably fall. LOL

Drew, you might as well wait for a 2022, no sense in paying a premium to get a year old truck.

Nice Ranger Alien. I don’t know how you fit sequential stuff in a housing that size, I’ll be interested to see that.

Better get started so I can get a bit done before the heat gets unbearable.
Have a good and safe day.

Yay!! Signed sale on Friday, Drove home today. My wife has ordered lots of goodies for it. Wheels, led sequential tail-lamps, flares, Raptor grill, and some other bits. I ordered a tub lid. It is getting painted before delivery. Build date is June so it got here pretty quickly.

Nice look to the tailgate, Alien. Congrats!

70°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 82° today. Humidity is at 87% right now.

We got a little more rain yesterday evening, though most of it went around us. Lots of rumbly skies most of the evening. We are supposedly done for a few days now, at least until Friday. Hope that holds true, as I have about four acres of grass that needs to be shorter.

Wife has been threatening to make Rice Crispy treats for the past few days, going as far as staging all the stuff on the kitchen countertop. I decided to beat her to the punch and made them after I got home form work yesterday. She was rather pleased when she got home later in the evening. I spent most of the rest of the evening piddling in the studio.

I was referring to local coverage of cycling, Mostly_. You can find coverage of pretty much anything on satellite or cable, but local coverage of anything other than Cardinals baseball is pretty much nonexistent. Even in the winter months, the local sports guys talk more about baseball than they do hockey ... even after the Blues having won the Stanley Cup just two years ago.

Nice score, Doug! Are your Fords locally made, or are they imported from the US?

Drew, you might as well wait for a 2022, no sense in paying a premium to get a year old truck.

Normally I would agree but 1)I'm not paying a premium, negotiated a decent discount off list and
2)they just refreshed this model so it will be years more before any more changes
Not like an F150 or Silverado where they seem to change styling a lot more

This price for a loaded Honda is about half of what a loaded half ton Limited truck would be so it's got a lot of built in value.
Of course it's not as fancy inside. Most of the truck is built on a Pilot suv chassis and I'm guessing a lot of truck's cost is amortized there.

Doug's Ranger is very nice. So is Don's. Sure not many of them in stock locally either. Not a good time to buy a house or a truck.

Maybe the good karma of my mower showing up will spread to the truck.

Rice crispy treats, yum PJ.

TXDon - I hope your niece and son recover quickly
