84 heat index 93 already, I hope we don’t get too much rain today, we have a 2% chance of rain.

Wife and stepdaughter are planning a rather big yard sale Saturday. They spent yesterday gathering stuff. I’ll be glad when it’s over so I can have my tractor shed back. But in their defense they did get all the baby furniture, strollers, pack and store, bounce toys and crib out of my attic. It is all very high quality with very little use, hopefully someone who can’t afford new can get the stuff. I told Ellen if someone appears to really need it and doesn’t have money, give it to them. The feel good factor is worth way more than the few bucks it will all sell for.

Got a few things I want to do before the heat gets too bad.

I hope you all have all good things happen today.

So .. how do you use your NC headphones .. with your new hat?

My Tilley hat squishes down nicely over my JBL headphone bracket, and keeps the ear pieces nice and tight against me head. Very effective, and I can listen to tunes while I’m on my somewhat noisy tractor.

68°F and foggy this morning, going up to 79° today. Some rain and storms forecast for later today.

Some rowdy storms passed through yesterday evening, prompting me to shut down early in the studio. Still got a lot done yesterday. Productive time.

Apparently, there was a rowdy storm in north St. Louis city on Saturday as well. There are a bunch of damaged buildings, trees, and light poles along our street at work, including damage to our buildings. One supervisor told me this morning that he was at work when it hit, and said it sounded like the whole building was coming down on him. Lots of stuff to clean up today. Some of our metal awning parts were found across the street and the next block down.

We had a contractor once bring a bunch of kids with him while he was doing some tree work at our place on a Saturday a few years ago, Paul. Same deal, kids were all over the place. My Wife went out and pulled a couple of nut gatherers out of the tool shed to keep them busy - and out of the way - picking up black walnuts. Nothing like having to babysit other people's undisciplined kids.

Mornin all, busy weekend-went to a Polo Match at Tinicum park. Got some mowing done with the flail. Trimmer some large overhanging bushes with the pole saw and got some nice walks in.
First zucchinis in the garden are pretty big and found our first horned tomato worm, which is now taken care of.

Uncle's hip replacement seems to have gone well.
Took a bike ride to Van Sant bridge and down some of my (short) mountain bike trails, only about 3 and a half miles, but hilly.

NHBX - happy anniversary!
Phil - had to take our simplicity engine to do a head gasket too, same blowby. Used the time to teach my kid about valves, pistons and such.
Wngsprd - we have 2 bugballs with sticky covering- both are pretty full of deerflies- have been bad and painful this year. Good to hear your able to walk more.

Stay safe and be well.

I had a 'feel good factor' today too. I left a shopping mall and it was a very cool day. There was an elderly chap sitting on a stool on the sidewalk playing his guitar. I have seen him before and noted him chatting to folks as they passed. Anyway he had a hat in front of him with some $2 and $1 coins and a $5 note. Now normally I do not carry cash with me so I had just walked past him other times. Today I did carry cash so I dropped a $20 note in his hat and said, "you deserve this for sitting out in this cold".
Well, he looked at the money then he looked at me and then the money again and nearly fell off his chair standing up. He said' "Oh mate, are you sure you can afford that?" I said sure. He shook my hand saying thank you. He was nearly in tears poor old bloke.
I sure felt good that he obviously really appreciated it.

A late Good morning from me. This is the time of year when I seem to do lots of walking to try and keep on top of ragwort in the hay fields. Spot spraying when the grass is short earlier on in the year is not too bad, now the grass is taller the stuff is almost ready to seed by the time it shows, so I have been doing a lot of pulling by hand. Not my favourite job, but I suppose it keeps me out of trouble.

Drew, sorry you had to sit through the England v Spain game if you don't like football. I much prefer to watch cycling and that has been a real thrill these last few days. Mark Cavendish has done something which was thought impossible, equalling the great Eddy Merckx total of 34 stage wins in the Tour De France. An incredible achievement which got very little coverage here.

Wng, I ought to see if your butterfly net trick would work on our horseflies. It is not so much the actual pain when stabbed, it is the apprehension at which tender part they will seek out next. Taking a pee outside is so much safer in winter :)

69°F and .03 inches rain. Overcast, possibly just a morning shower.

Need to change gears and start another round of mowing before it gets too overgrown like last time. Wx dependent of course.

Quite pleased with the shower/Durock. Likely go to town later in week and pickup the missing plumbing fittings. Need to figure how much tile.

Zoom Happy Hour this afternoon.

Gathering restrictions has eased, but danger lurks. Over 100 new COVID state wide cases each of last 2 days, going wrong direction. Vax hesitancy. Yesterday the news reported an 80+ Oahu man with multiple complications died in hospital. Of course the headline was that he was our 1st fully vaccinated to die. That’s 1 of over 500. Geez, he was probably just ready to go or passed from one of his underlying conditions. It’s time the media started highlighting that 99% of new cases/deaths are unvaccinated.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Drew, maybe time to chat with the Honda manager, maybe even in person. Could be the salesperson is no longer there.
