Good morning.
75F and cloudy @ 11:30, headed up to a high of 80F for the day.
Dew point is currently 68F, so it will probably seem pretty warm. Pop up showers currently occurring over the NEO region. Isolated thunderstorms developing later this afternoon.
Noticed yesterday grass has already come up in newly seeded problem area with the roots. Warm temps + adequate moisture is a winning combo apparently ... so far we haven't had so much rain that there have been any washouts ... hope that continues ...
Was coming home the other day and as I was pulling up to the house I saw a melanistic (black) squirrel which had a red tail. First time I have ever noticed anything like that. Since then I have seen several more.
Since no rain overnight, should be dry enough to move more composted soil down, finish getting the planting bed prepped, and get veggie plants in.
Lower front could stand to be mowed again ... if for no other reason than a particular weed - think it's plantain - have been putting up seed heads.
Woman commented yesterday "You need to move your Stella Door lilies"
Not sure when exactly they became "mine" (they are hers), but these are the yellow ones I split last year and some of them have begun to bloom.
So I told her of my plan to mix those and the orange day lilies, alternating them along the west and south sides of the shop.
That caused her to point out that there are still hosta (and some woody shrub mixed in) that need removed at the west side of the shop at the north end. My plan is to just dig them up and stick them in a shady area in the woods, making sure the roots are covered until we can get to them.
If rain develops, will likely make the run down to Menards and mower shop.
Dove on hopper feeder, which is unusual - must not like all the company on the ground
:
Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ...
