Good morning, a wet day ahead with a fast rising wind.

RS, great service to get that bearing replaced again for free after a year of use.

Thomas, you can't mind too much getting muddy boots if that tells you winter is over.

Don, thanks for that trip down memory lane, 20 years for us since gas prices passed 4$ per US gallon.

Alien enjoy your rain ! Toowoomba, what a great place name - sounds like a hip swaying dance :)

Anyone remember when gas was 25 cents a gallon? I do.

I remember when it cost me 10/- ($1) a week to run my car to work every day. My rent was $10 per week. That was for a house. 1968 - 1969 era.

Kindest thoughts to Buppies.

I remember 35 cents when I was really small. I remember when it went over 1$, right when I got my first car :-(

55°F and rain this morning, going up to 57° today. I actually left the house without a jacket today. A light rain passed through early, then the storm front followed later. As Drew noted, it was a rough one, and hit just as I was approaching the bridge to cross the Mississippi River. On the bright side, it didn't last long, maybe 10 minutes. We're looking at rain and more storms all day, and probably for the next five days. That will definitely launch us into mud season here.

Amazon driver was kind enough to leave yet another package on the door step yesterday evening, right below the sign directing it to the box just to his left.

Check, I remember 59¢/gal when I was growing up. I also remember my parents ranting when it hit $1 for the first time. We're at $2.89/gal here. It's been slowly climbing as the weather warms. I heard one prognosticator on the radio recently suggest we'll likely be back to $4 by summer this year. Fortunately, if that does happen, I'm driving a car this time that's averaging around 45mpg, instead of the Jeep that was getting 22mpg at best last time it was that high.

I worked weekends in high school pumping gas for a full service Atlantic/Arco station in Dresher, PA. I worked the summer of '73 when the prices started at $0.25/gal and by the time I started commuting to college everyday, had jumped to $1/gal.

The gas station operators had revolted over the 4th of July weekend owing to them not keeping their margin as the price went up. My station owner and one other in the Philadelphia region remained open for the 4th of July weekend. I had the privilege of working alone that weekend. I had cars backed up for 2 miles and had to make the decision to only sell 5 gallons. I ran the tanks dry. The boss came back and was furious with the damn kid who ran his tanks dry and he could not get a delivery for another week.

I was so busy running, I could not get the pumps shut down. That was fun! NOT!

In FL waiting for the passengers for the return trip. Hope the return goes as smoothly as the trip down.

There is still a differnce in the legs and breasts but the breasts do resemble dark meat more.
I have read that the difference is do to the amount of muscle activity that a bird does,
more flying makes for darker breast meat.
I have modified my turkey dressing methods with wild turkeys;
I do not pluck and remove all the pin feathers.
I skin them and remove the breast and just cook the breast.
The legs have so many tendons that it is a job just getting the meat off the bone
after it is cooked.
I enjoy wild turkey meat but my wife will not even consider trying it.
I never have and will not spring hunt turkeys because of were they feed all winter long,
right behind the manure spreaders. I have seen over a 100 picking through the manure
behind a manure spreader.

He should have been furious with himself, not you, didn't leave good directions or communicate effectively.

Popgadget, on one of these trips I'm going to have you snag some stone crabs for the both of us and I'll treat.
Then some fresh Kelchners cocktail sauce or perhaps a spicy cream sauce. I've been to Joe's in Miami just once, and had
wonderful memories. Way over my price range. Something like 10 dollars a bite.
I'm just not a ten dollar bite guy... ;)
The Wagyu cows are safe from me.
