Good morning!!!!

David,
may you do as well as I did with the motorhome ride.
It ran like a champ and responded to my every input...;)
And I did talk my way onto the Parkway, got it up to 70 and then
to my dismay we immediately flew into a poorly marked construction area,
the road cuts hard to one side, skinny lanes, barricades on both sides, zero clearance anywhere
and i think I saw the salesman's eyes get a little wide...:D
We did fine, likely because everyone around me scattered out of my way...

It was great fun, we pick it up next Thursday and leave on Friday for a couple hour test drive to a friends in DE.
And there, and boy do I think this will be fun, we are going to a blessing of the fleet. Not the blessing I'm used to with boats, where everyone
idles past a chaplain on the shore, but this time a parade of combines and tractors. No way am I going to miss that if I can.
maybe i can get the motorhome blessed.

and yes, I'll take pictures.
enjoy your weekend.

Coffee is brewing. 65° with clouds and a passing drop of rain. Going to try and put a little time into my retaining wall project. Need some late July weather were every thing dries up. Then dirt will be a lot easier to move.
Drew, congrats on the RV. If you decide to travel to MI. Stop by, we have hookups for our RV/tractor friends to visit.
Good Morning All.

Congrats, daugen! Enjoy the "test" drive.

thanks! At least it comes full with eighty gallons of gas, so the first drive is on them.

when we had our boat and kept it in the Chesapeake, every Sunday morning I would make a special breakfast
while Nadene slept, and would wake her up with the beginning tunes of Out Of Africa. She always knew that music meant a nice
breakfast was ready, but also a little melancholy because it meant it was Sunday and we had to go home that afternoon.
So we are hunting around for that old CD, I might have to get another.

So when the music starts, and she wakes up, she hears the soothing sounds of the orchestra and smells those arguably famous little sausages frying in onions and garlic, well that's just one of those good memories/traditions in our marriage. Almost Pavlovian by now.
Maybe I can do it one more time.

getting hungry? can you smell the garlic? :D

A friend I used to work with bought an RV--a huge diesel pusher--and decided that was the life for him event though he lacked the rugged mindset required. He was a white shirt corporate financial guy.

Anyway, he pushed everything to the limit and tells a harrowing tale of driving 70 is a 65 and going trough the squeeze down concrete barrier lanes of a pre-construction site. The sign said 45 MPH but he knew better and they said a "MAXIMUM WIDTH" OF 106" (?) and no exceptions. Anyway, he said those signs always give you a fudge factor so he would have plenty of room at his 102" and not to worry about the speed.

Well, the sign was correct and he went in with almost no room on either side and pedal to the metal. Said parts of his life flashed before him and he careened somewhat out of control while he tried not to rub those concrete lane restrictors. White knuckles the whole way.

He did kiss the sides of the concrete, although he is slow to fess up and we never heard much about the RV life afterwards. :)

Slept in...felt mighty fine too!

59 right now with a high of 82 predicted. Reckon I'd better finish up the mowing today as we will probably get rain on Sunday.
Before I mow (when the wife gets up), I'm going to head to a local place called the "Sugar House" which, at one time, was a sugar house for processing maple syrup (which is a cottage industry here in Vermont). The place looks pretty ramshackle from the outside, but they do have a fine breakfast and I reckon I'll have some.

Well Drew, our car club does the car show there on the river. Come on down and and enjoy some redneck river jousting, heat, humidity and lots of food! I'm president of the club so I kinda gotta be there! Come on down! I'll be the chunky bald dude in the baseball cap, you should be able to sort through the 75-100 of us fitting that description!:D
