Made it to southern OH and went to evening viewing. Long trip. Hotel is across road from a major train track. Several trains already blowing their horn for a crossing. Had good burger at local restaurant. My brother has been fighting stomach bug so is not doing well. Not many people at viewing.

Howdy stranger!

Nice!

Love the outdoor theater, until it gets too cold. (around 68F for me :) )

Busy at work, just wish I had energy like when I was 40 still. I overdid it a little this past weekend.

Roy, hope the leg gets better.

My wife woke up 2 days ago with neck pain. This is somebody who works out often and is in shape. She's never been to a chiropractor, and is asking to go to one. Do any of you have any experience with going to a chiropractor infrequently?

I spent most of my working life in construction running and working on big equipment so had my share of aches and pains. One time I really messed up my back and on the advise of a good friend went to a chiro. which seemed to work for a while but then I developed a pain in a hip that kept getting worse, he said I have a special treatment for that and laid me out on his table and gave my lower back a big hard twist. Was out of work for a week before my wife found an exercise on the net that had me up and running in no time. Since that time I have found that stretching exercises, often with guidance from physical therapists helps me more than anything. In short I would avoid a chiropractor after my experience and observing friends go through the same thing.

Two Physical Therapist have made some self help videos. My wife uses them and they do help. Just google "Bob and Brad neck pain". The more specific the better they have many YouTubes.

Good evening all. 65 for the start, some clouds, windy. Wind really strong today, partly cloudy, and high temp was 77F. Cleaning lady prep this morning, then leaf pickup on concrete, then mulch the leaves in the yard. Did get a nap in today.
Covid update: Cooke unchanged, Montague unchanged, Grayson unchanged.
Starting with yesterday 11/08 10:49 post 121561:
David enjoy your football.
Dennis I hate it when MS does that!:censored:
Kyle might want to try a hotter spark plug while working on jet issues. Also check that coil and points/condenser and magnet are up to snuff. I had a Kaw 175 with electronic ignition, step son had Yam 250 with points, could take his fouled plugs and run them for a month or 2 before they would quit on me :)
Roy sorry you could not visit neighbor, hope you get markers out.
Drew glad service went well, I always enjoyed outside service.
Buppies glad trip went as well as it did. Truck got 25 miles to the gallon
Drew pretty tree
Bill 50 is still too early to let them out!!
Ron glad there is a diagnosis on your son. Hope plan is worked up soon. great bird pic
Mike what is wrong with wife on ztr? glad you can take day off
Paul what biplane is it? HS buddy's dad had a Waco YMF-5 (I think) got to ride in it in the 90's to Oshkosh
Thomas sound like Boo's brother is a kleptomaniac, sorry about not getting chains on
RNG hope you get your claim finished, have fun on bike trip
Lynn good to have you back
Ted weather has gone downhill in a hurry, good to hear progress.
Don they are very proud of their work!
Paul nice plane looks aerobatic.
PJ sorry to hear about Lynxx hope you can get tool box done soon.
Drew good work on tool box.
Ken nice report on saw mill, hope you can use it a lot
Randy I hear the switch can be issue to stay engaged :2cents:
Kyle I don't have experience and the wife found one she really liked, he did work for Rams when in STL. left fr Colorado and she has been looking since.
Dennis good you made it, sorry about train tracks I grew up in house that had double tracks (more trains) and crossing nearby. So trains don't bother me much :)
prayers for all, especially Jay/Peg, Kyle's daughter, RNG/fire, Ron's son, and Country.
stay safe and healthy you all.

Roy did you get all your functions working on the app?

No, I didn't...the phone pairs with the radio...no problem. But the app won't connect. Reading the reviews of the app "jHD", this seems to be a fairly common problem. The developer of the app wants me to pull the radio and send it to them. I'm not going to do that. The app would be convenient, but not a necessity. Seems like all the radio's functions work OK...but I'll mostly be using the Bluetooth and CD functions

36 right now...high in the low 70's today (if it makes it the far...didn't hit the predicted high yesterday)

Neighbor was supposed to text me if it was OK to visit yesterday...he didn't. My wife saw a number of cars over their place yesterday...I guess all those visitors tired her out...:(

good morning all
up too early but wide awake ?

what concerns me about chiropractors is the willingness to go in and start moving your spine around before an xray or mri disproves more serious issues.
In my home town local chiropractor almost killed a guy who had an embolism in large vein/artery in lower back and when treatment did not help and patient in severe pain,
mri showed what the real problem is. Sever the spinal nerve with bone fragments and wind up an invalid for rest of life. If they take xrays first, I have no problem with chiropractors.
It's the one procedure fixes all approach and emphasis on coming back constantly that raises great concerns to me. I also realize many folks have been tremendously helped by this style of medicine which typically avoids heavy use of drugs for treatment. But as in so many things, a little diagnostics done up front is usually the smart approach.

good friend and I are headed up to local lumberyard this morning, oldest family owned one in US located in, of course, Lumberville, just North of me.
Tinsman Brothers Lumber - Home
Going to get some 1x6's and 1x8's for making birdhouses.
Have used clear pine and oak before, will see how crazy the prices are now. Plans are to stain with dark walnut and then put several coats of spar varnish on top. My past attempts at painting birdhouses pretty colors didn't hold up, paint peeled too much. I also think there were issues with birds not liking the smell of the fresh paint.

Tinsman Lumberyard is pretty special to me, run by fifth generation brothers, who used to be my BIL's when I was married to their younger sister. We have remained friends all our lives and all went to same local school. My father was president of local school board when their mother was VP. And my ex wife was in my sister's class. In small towns, everyone knows everyone...
My ex and I are still very good friends.

I need to research easy to build bird feeders too. I like projects this size as not too heavy and easier on my arthritic hands. Plus the final result doesn't have to be perfect and the birds
don't seem to care...

electrician said parts for my gen install still not in so I have to be patient. Am still going to fire it up this weekend to check it out, run several electric heaters on it for test.

Foggy 46 degrees out now going up to 73 today in clouds, then good bit of rain coming in Wednesday and Thursday.

Good morning, it has been foggy here too Drew and an exceptionally mild 12C/54F last night, didn't need to light the woodburners.

After tea yesterday my wife was watching dancing on the tv and with the workshop still smelling of drying paint, I looked around for something semi useful to do. For the last couple of weeks the car has been telling me the key fob battery needs replacing. I had a hunch that the one I keep as a spare for a Leica telescopic sight could be the same size. Sure enough it was and changing it was straight forward.

I opened the back door and pressed a couple of buttons, expecting to see the car lights come on. Nothing. Stepped out a little further and tried again - still no response. I had checked the old and new battery with a voltmeter to confirm that was the problem, so what could I have done wrong ? Maybe the fog was affecting radio reception ? Kept pressing buttons while walking ever closer. Nada. Not until I got within a few yards did I realize my charcoal gray Subaru was not just sulking in the fog - it wasn't even there ! Clean forgot I had left it out front instead of the usual place, when I turned my head to look in that direction the sky was lighting with a nice orange glow each time I squeezed the remote

Kyle, when a pretty girl decides she wants a boyfriend, she is going to find one before long. The only uncertainty that you as a dad get to influence now is will it be a nice boy she is keen to show off and bring home for mild interrogation, or will it be someone of totally unknown character to you, who has to be kept a secret? I am sure you brought her up right, now you just have a few years of anguish to get through as you watch her grow up.

Ken, well done with the Granberg mill, you sound to be learning fast. Is ash a durable timber where you live? Here it starts to rot and attract woodworm if left outside for much more than a year.

Good morning, the temp here is 60ーF and going to a high of 64. Wind SSW 13 mph. 30% chance of showers.

One of the guys I work with suggested I rough up the dash some first, then stick the tape on and the lights to the tape. Did that yesterday and will see if it held when I leave for the printers today.

This is what I want put on sticky vinyl so it will go on the outside of the windows. About 4" high by 12 inches long.

That is about all I will get up to today.

Have a safe day all
