Good Morning!!!! 43F @ 7:15AM. Sunshine and clouds mixed. High 61F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.
Still no rain. Had 0.01" in August, and have to go all the way back to June 13th for the next quarter inch. The ten day is calling for rain through next weekend starting on Thursday.:dance1:
That looks like a small fortune in free pavers, Phil!
Hope your genny arrives safely and they can put it where needed, Drew.
I've been looking for a balloon tired dolly for a while now, Paul. Mind sharing make and model number of the one you have?
Sex lights in your foot wells, Bill? I thought this was a family friendly list...
Looks like a happy blue jay, Ron.
Nice buck, RS.
Glad you solved the siding puzzle, Mike. Can't even tell the whole house is off...
Rough wood soaks up a lot of paint, David. Will the top coats be some shade of pastel, or will you leave it white?
Robots are great for repetitive tasks, Chris. According to Elon Musk, soon we'll have to pay people for doing nothing. Or have we already started?:irked:
Glad HD got the mess straightened out and gave you a deal, Ted. How 'bout getting Jeff to shoot some video of the unboxing of the new one?
The T-Mobile Home Internet modem showed up yesterday afternoon, but refused to find any LTE signal in the wiring closet, or in the office. So I put a long extension cord on it and put it out on the patio outside the office, and got two out of five bars. That was enough to surf the web and even stream video better than the satellite connection ever did, but I called their tech support to see if there's anything they could do to make the signal stronger. It took 45 minutes on hold to get through, but the support person thought it odd that the modem was connecting to a cell tower six miles away when there was one three miles closer. So he started a trouble ticket so see what could be done. Then he asked if I could leave the modem on so their engineers could test against it. It's not out of the weather out on the patio, but I have an extension cord running into the Vanagon for a battery maintainer. So I put the modem on the dash of the van, and now it's getting three out of five bars. Not a realistic solution, but I can build or buy some sort of container for it and put it up on the north side of the house without too much trouble. And so far I've been able to sign on to the modem's WiFi everywhere inside the house. In fact, there was an iOS update available for the iPad, so I let it run. Took two hours and sucked down a couple gigs of data, but it worked first time. Trying that on the satellite usually takes multiple attempts, and I usually have to start it in the wee hours of the morning when traffic isn't so bad. Fifty bucks a month for "unlimited" data is a pretty good deal, but at 50 Gbytes they start throttling the speed down. I usually use a bit over that each month, so we'll have to see what happens. Maybe I need two of those modems?:confused3:
I'll probably get up in the attic today and run some ethernet cable for the new security cams, and a link for the LTE modem. The temps have really cooled down and it shouldn't be too unpleasant up there now.
Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!
