Roy.
Tractor's ready to be delivered once the rear wiper kit (which was delivered to the shop yesterday morning) is installed...really hope to see the machine in my drive this afternoon...crossing my fingers...

Looking forward to pictures later today. :)

60 and dense fog...may linger until 11am again, like yesterday...as it gets up to 78.

Ron, great cardinal pic...state bird of many states, like mine. They are the most numerous bird at our feeders, except when huge flocks of cow and blackbirds come around. Heard our first white-throated sparrow singing the other day, and then finally saw him yesterday. The striped pattern on their heads always reminds me of Univ of Michigan football helmets, although the colors aren't right.

BEF, maybe your wife could treat you to a meal on the deck of the Skyland lodge looking over the valley tomorrow for your birthday.

Spent some time on the tractor yesterday...but only to hitch, move and re-hitch some implements as I reorganized to make the best use of a very small tractor barn. I think I counted 16 steps to complete the job, and 2 hours.

Eric, I've never used any diesel treatment. Besides what's in the tanks, only have a 5-gallon container I bought 16 years ago. I don't think the diesel I buy is bio-diesel, and like rip, I use it up relatively quickly. I do use cha-ching in my gas container, since I use it much more slowly.

Like wng, I treat my gas using Seafoam because 6 gal might last 3-4 months or more. My diesel gets used much quicker, but I do treat it in winter when it sits more.

Tore about a 2”x 3” flap on my arm last night when I bumbled into a car mirror in the parking lot at the ballpark. Ellen did a nice bandage but it bled through overnight and got on the sheets. Guess I’ll call the doctor this morning to see if I get antibiotics and or tetanus shot.

Happy birthday tomorrow BEF!

Got to get moving morning chores are waiting. Have a great day.

Good Morning!!!! 65F @ 4:00AM. Sunny. High 87F. Winds light and variable.
We've graduated to a Red Flag Warning, lasting through Friday. The usual story of low humidity and gusting winds.
Two fires were contained to small sizes yesterday, as extra firefighting resources have remained in the area for just such a contingency.

Work on the North Complex Fire, formerly the Bear Fire, has transitioned to a recovery mode, where bulldozer lines are smoothed out and measures to control erosion are put in place. They're also "back hauling" some three hundred and fifty miles of hose, cleaning, inspecting, and rolling it before putting it back into storage, ready for the next big blaze.

Count me among the SkyView users. I particularly like being able to put it into red mode to preserve my night vision.

I miss cardinals, Ron, thanks for sharing. Always wondered why none have made it over the Rockies. Sparrows and grackles haven't had any problems moving west.

I hope you have many pleasant surprises as you unpack that trailer, Drew.

I don't remember ever seeing so many bar clamps in one place, Ted, even in high school wood shop! Looking forward to more progress shots.

That flat water was letting that kayaker make pretty good time, Paul. I remember it being pretty good exercise, too, or at least being pretty sore after the first day or so of a week of kayaking down in Baja many years ago.

Speaking of sore, I'm feeling yesterday's many trips up and down a ladder. Installed two runs of additional drip tube up on the roof to cover areas where the tiles leave gaps for embers to get underneath. I have one more run to do this morning.

Gave the ol' credit card some exercise yesterday afternoon, getting a new box blade on order from EA. Overbuilt with lots of steel, some 800 lbs. still won't be enough ballast, but a couple hundred pounds of old railroad track will help.

Hope everyone enjoys their Hump Day!

Drinking first cup of coffee. 54° with rain this morning. Heading to 57° with mostly cloudy skies. Got over 1/2" of rain overnight. Thunder woke me up at 2 am. Got some work on cellar door done yesterday. Back at it today. Much bigger project than I planned. Biggest problem is finding where I laid a tool down. Primary care Dr got me an appointment with ENT Dr in 2 weeks. Lots of people seems to need it this year.
This guy made my day yesterday.

Drew, good that your getting your stuff in one place.

Buckeye, have a Happy Day Before Birthday. Hope your sister is OK.

Roy, hope tractor arrives today.

Ken, tree looks great.

David, my signal is poor. Helps to have fiber optic internet service. My house is concrete block and barn is metal. There is a 2' fiberglass light panel around 2 sides of barn. I mounted my extender in that area.
Both phones are set on WIFI for phone service. Works good it I do not walk around in house. When in the house I use my 2 iPads to answer calls. Also switch to them when making calls. Verizon is suppose to put in a new tower near me next year. Hope it solves problems I have.

Don, great pictures.

Eric, we have to wait another week to change our clocks. Nov. 1.

Buppies, I bet a lot have called it Latrine.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

Beautiful pic Ron. Also loved the drone lake pic.

BEF, happy birthday and prayers for Covid patients.

Getting caught up at work.

Have a blessed day all. I add 2 stroke oil, 1oz per gallon to my diesel. But I don't buy in bulk.

Good morning,
the temp is 36°F and going to a high of 52. Wind ENE 12 mph. Periods of rain.

I made a quick run up to North Bay yesterday. Met up with the guy that I haul with in summer and took him in the Dodge to supper and a pot shop I know of. We have GPS tracking on both the trucks AND the trailers, so he didn't want the tractor to get spotted at the pot shop.

Thanks to the rain, I don't have much to do today.

I use Power Service in the white bottle in winter. 1 oz to 5 gallons of diesel. I put the oz in the tractor tank then pump the fuel in. I share my fuel oil with the house furnace, that is why I don't just dump a quart of PS into the oil tank.

Have a safe and healthy day all

It's foggy this morning. It sounds like it is raining under the big pines.

Good morning all, 59 going up to 74 and had a bit more rain that is still not in the forecast. I wish they would look out the window :)
Raked and seeded the area around the new tree and where I removed the 10 or so stumps. So rain was welcome overnight.

TXDon-that is one nice looking greenhouse - do the windows get washed everyday ?
BEF - Happy birthday and many more!
RNG - smoke alarm batteries seem to be timed to go off between 2 and 3am. Seems I always miss one battery and find out the hard way
Roy- new tractor almost home ? Waiting for pictures
Eric - I use powerserve like L4N- white bottle in my containers. and now that our clocks are shifted a few weeks thanks to that jr. Bush guy, all my international meetings will shift and be a mess until we are back in sync with the rest of the planet.
Ron -great cardinal picture - we have had 2 cardinals over the years who fight with our windows very early in the morning thinking another cardinal is on their turf, not the brightest, but very dedicated to killing the bird in our window :confused2:
Randy - hope your arm heals quick- need to bubble wrap you

Stay safe and be well
