Well that certainly took longer than expected. The pigs hadn’t just opened up an entry point but a super highway, about 40 ft where the bottom of fence and barbed wired lifted enough to pass through. I patched with runs of welded wire pushed into ground and then fastened to existing wire. Likely a temp fix at best. I think they look for a dip in ground where they can force their snout and then work it. the barbed wire is not great deterrent. Guess they find spot in between barbs. I’d like some sort of hooked stake I can drive into ground between the posts. Possibly have to make from 3/8” rebar. Made some temp ones with 18” of that heavy fence wire used on chainlink fences. It’s what I had.

This is my recent damage.

47F with a rain shower @ 21:00, headed down to 40F for the overnight low.

Got the leaves blown off on about 3/4 of the portion of the driveway I needed to work on and then the wind came up ... which made it pointless to continue. So I went up and did a little more grading on the part of the drive I was working on yesterday. Still needs a little more detailing but it got wetted pretty good with the rain today ...

After that I dropped the bucket off the loader and threw the pallet forks on and retrieved the snowblower from over in the woods and brought it up to the house. Scoped out the snowblower manual and then took some measurements for the hydraulic cylinder for the discharge chute deflector.

Placed an order for small two hydraulic cylinders (leaf blower and snowblower) and two 1" stub axles for the grass/leaf vac build with Surplus Center.

Refilled all five bird feeders.

Got email from Rural King: yoke for the blower is on the way ...

Then I made up and placed an order for bird food for Menards, which definitely has the better deal on black oil sunflower seeds now that TSC has jacked up their price by $5 per 40 lb. bag

After that I got cleaned up and headed out for Sam Winer's to return the one yoke.

Once that was done I headed over to the new Tallmadge/Kent Menards (just opened a week ago this last Monday) since it was fairly close by at that point and picked up the bird food order.

Hit the Lakemore/Springfield TSC on the way home and returned the second yoke. Grabbed some 1/4" Grade 8 bolts, lock washers, and nuts for the shear bolts on the blower and a couple other items while I was there. Plus 5 four-packs of Boyer Smoothies ...

When I got home I fed the cats and warmed up a couple of The Woman's stuffed peppers (one yellow, and one medium hot ...) for myself.

Just finished unclogging the Vacu-Flo for The Woman.

Have a request to build a roost box so might due a little research on that before I hit the rack.

Hope everyone had a great day.

There was a reported flash in the eastern sky and now at least 10 neighborhoods are out of power for the last 30 minutes. I am using the UPS and still have 155 minutes before I even think of firing up the generator, or just go to bed. My wifi and weather station are going strong it's 67˚F.

edit:
137 minutes of battery power left on the UPS. More areas are reporting power outage - one person on a hilltop cannot see lights anywhere it may be the whole town.
The light company is not answering and the power outage maps are not working. Aliens?

edit: power back on, was off for 1:15, only used 11% of battery from the UPS. I guess I'll find out tomorrow the cause of the wide spread power outage.

Good evening all. 66F for the start, overcast, windy. Wind gusts topping 30, overcast almost all day, and high temp was 74F. No rain, and low temp will be about 55F at midnight. Slow start, finished sharpening chain then ran 1/2 tank through the chainsaw working on wood pile. Have a lot more kindling to process and cover the wood rack. Did get nap and attend fish club meeting tonight.

My grandparents house still has a wood cook stove in it.

Early voting here is only 1 week.

Today is oldest sons bday, 25.

Happy b'day to your son!

Eric, I've cooked on a stove similar to that....so I can knock that off the bucketlist.

Rick, hope you figure out which one you want. IIRC, they had the full cab AC/heated Gator on sale for less than $20K stock show special, at one time here. The dealer told me when they came out with it, he figured he'd only order a couple to sell....then they started selling like hotcakes he said. They had sold like 16 of them in the first few months. I said "Who can afford them?" he said it's mostly elderly, that want to ride around their property in comfort year round. This was over a year ago, so I have no idea how many more he's sold.

Barely missed hitting a large doe this AM. I saw the first one run across the road, and I slowed and kept looking...because you know there's usually at least 2 or more. Well, the 2nd one darted out right in front of me and I slammed on the brakes, just missing her. Good thing I had already slowed down or I would have totaled my 2nd car on a deer.

Bupps, prayers for your health and drain line problems.

Randy, does that town have a lot of those NO TELL MOTELS???? I should video my wifey's expression when I tell her we are going to Intercourse Pennsylvania.....
