64 going to 72, and rain coming in for a couple of days from trop Sally. Probably need some, and forecasted amount isn't too bad.

RS, hope you're not too sore today...BEF's idea of bubble wrap on implements is good, but sometimes I think I need to make a suit of it to wear.

Kyle, the hike up Hawksbill is 860' elevation gain from the skyline Drive, so not too bad. If you hike from the bottom, it's another 2,100, but I did that part the easy way with a V8.

Touching story about Duncan. Great neighbors.

Thomas, sounds like you might be getting ready to sell.

Good Morning!!!! 67F @ 4:15AM. Plenty of sunshine. Expect widespread areas of smoke and haze, reducing visibility at times. High 88F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph.
AQI 280 outside, 117 inside, a front is supposed to come through today with light winds that I'm hoping will move some of the smoke along. :crossfingers:

There are two hot spots on the fire that are giving fits to the firefighters, mostly due to the steep terrain in the mountains. Containment on the west side where I'm at continues to increase, and the equipment being used locally is being redeployed. We could see the Evacuation Warning dropped in the next few days if things continue to go they way they have been.

It's a good thing you're so healthy, RS, or you wouldn't be able to keep up with yourself!:laughing:

That's some real good news you got yesterday, Drew. And congrats on completing your chemo regimen. Looks like a clean slate and a good plan going forward.

That fire ring might correct itself when it catches the cedar on fire and it burns down, Don. Hopefully it won't take the rest of the park with it.

Sounds like some delicate, and tiny, work there, Kyle. CNC or are you turning cranks?

Duncan had a long life, David, good right up 'till a quick end. We should all be so lucky.

Thanks for sharing the pics, Ron. That's some really bright pink!

Satellite modem seized up again this morning requiring a power cycle to get it going again. I took the opportunity to plug it into a smart switch, the idea being that I don't have to go into the office to do the reset any longer. But it also opens the door for the script I use to monitor internet connectivity to power cycle the modem as well, but that'll take a little more homework.

Town run today; haircut, too, the first since May:shocked:

But first I'll be making a call to Rigol with some questions about their oscilloscopes. I finally got through, after almost two weeks, to a tech support guy at Siglent. Pretty much figured out that my use case for their scope was never considered with the software design, and the features I was hoping for just aren't there. But once again, reading the Rigol user manual really didn't make it clear that their scope can do what I need either.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

Drew, good news on treatment and house. I like the Yamaha. But no dump bed in back.

thanks Ron, and yes, have to have a dump bed. I know they have another model of this with the dump bed but
maybe not so high horsepower. Rick needs to get to the back forty in a hurry some time...the suspension on this UTV
with Fox shocks really looks state of the art.

Chuck, owls are very cool. But not for mice or little bunnies, remarkably capable raptors
I saw a video on top ten deadliest birds and two were owls.

RNG, when you opened the pressure relief screen was it clogged full of rust flakes?

Expensive .. and they won't haul anything.

I was thinkin' that too, Rick, until I read at the very end of the review that a hydraulic dump bed was an optional accessory. But I have a hard time imagining it being of any size, but maybe using the space wasted on the two back seats for the four seater could fix that? Good point about the price, though. You could buy a decent small pickup truck for what they're asking.

Expensive .. and they won't haul anything.

it can tow up to 2,000 pounds
same as Kubota's most powerful gas model
I'd rather go slower and have a bigger bed in back for picking up tree debris

I found the hitch on my
rtv 400, which was a light duty model only, didn't stick out far enough and always wondered when
I would ruin the muffler with the trailer
I had a 6x12 single axle utility trailer that worked great with mine, but just had to be sure not to overload it.
