Good Morning!!!! 85F @ 5:15AM. Chance of a shower or two during the morning, followed by partly cloudy skies this afternoon. High 107F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 30%.
We're also under a Red Flag Warning due to lightning accompanying the showers. A new fire start Friday on Highway 70 northeast of Reno went from zero to several thousand acres in less than an hour, causing a firenado and closing the highway and US 395 north of Reno. It's now grown to more than 20,000 acres with very little containment.
Traced out the evaporative emissions hoses on both vans yesterday, and removed the charcoal canister from the parts van. I'm making a list of parts I'll need to install it on the Syncro. A fellow that used the same engine swap kit I did sent me a diagram of how it's supposed to be connected, something I should have gotten from the ex-mechanic, but didn't.:muttering: Heck, the idiot should have installed an evap system, but he didn't.:irked: I don't know how he got the van past smog testing last time, but I'd sure like to know.
Got the old gun safe unbolted from the floor and up on the hydraulic dollies yesterday, with the new lever bar on wheels making the job a lot easier. Neighbor should be here around 9 o'clock to help load it on the trailer.
Spent some time trying to get three WiFi cameras back on the network yesterday, but only one of them would cooperate. None of them is compatible with the new security cam software, but one of them will keep its job as weather cam for Weather Underground. Still haven't figured out how to get the three Ethernet cams on the network, as the Chenglish instructions I've been able to find are quite impenetrable.:mur: It's OK, as they were all inexpensive cameras, and I can probably get close to what they cost on ebay if I want to fool with that.
It was 106F on the patio yesterday evening, 116F on the front porch. Perfect time for running shorts, flip flops, and margaritas! The outside showerhead got a workout, too, but there was no cold water to be found. The walls and attic that the pipes run through were so hot they acted as water heaters.
Not sure what's on the agenda after the safe move, but it's an opportunity rich environment.
Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend!
