Good Morning!!!! 73F @ 5:00AM. Plenty of sunshine. High 101F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.
Looks like Florida's gittin' walloped by Tropical Storm Isaias today. Anybody heard from Larro lately?
Good plan just hunkering down where you're at, Drew. Better to stay on familiar ground when it comes to bad weather.
An Airforce buddy of mine is stationed in Korea right now, Ron, and he's had his Mavic Air 2 up to 1500'. Sez most places have no altitude limits, and his photos cover a lot of ground from that elevation! Hope the stings don't bother you too much.
Gave up wearing a watch when I retired, Don, and don't see a need to go back to one now. That might change if my health starts to fail, especially with Apple's focus on turning the watch into a medical snooping device.
Thanks for the SpaceX link, Rick. Be nice to have those boys back on the ground safely.
Hope you get the A/C straightened out soon, Phil. Will the new unit save you some money through higher efficiency?
I have lists of lists, Kyle. I'd never get anything done without them. They sync automatically in real time between the laptop and phone, so they're always at hand to consult or update. Kinda hard on the screen scratchin' 'em off when they're done, though, so I either mark them as "done" or erase them altogether.
Verified that the auto leveling on the
M62 fails at slow boom speeds in both the up and down directions yesterday, and that increasing the RPMs to build better hydraulic pressure doesn't make a difference, either. Also ran the test on the tilt cylinder, and it appears to be leak free. I haven't mentioned the broken eye on the top cylinder to the Oregon Kubota dealer yet, but I'd like to figure out a way to test it as well before I do.
Pulled the plug back out of the firetruck sump yesterday and drilled and tapped it for 1/2" NPT. I found an old brass valve in the junk drawer along with a short nipple, and used them to replace the tiny air compressor tank sized drain valve that was already on the plug. Figure that'll save me some time if I ever have to drain the tank without having to fire up the main pump. I went over the instructions that came with the coating yesterday to see when it would be dry enough to test, and the only thing I could find was to try scratching it with a nail. The nail left a mark, so I let it go another day. This morning I'll put a foot or so of water in the tank and look for leaks, then fire up the pump and see how well that works. If everything checks out I'll get the lid back on and put the grates back in place. There are a couple water lines that get hooked back up as well, one of them went through the material on the hatch that was replaced. I'll need to get back up there with the welder to reattach that one. Then repaint the repairs, but it'll probably be too hot for paint by that time.
Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend!
