RNG, have a safe ride this weekend. Double check those lists, you don't want to get there and and say "aww nuts... I forgot...." You know Mr Murphy is watching.... Are you going out on the BMW you were riding last year?
I spent a LOT of time in Albuquerque on business, and agree that an unfortunate number of the drivers there make it a dangerous place to be on a street. Even made a couple of motorcycle trips there, and it was like a competition to see who could kill me first.
My lists are good, but I seem to always forget at least one thing. And sometimes more. I've forgotten medication, tool kits (that was yesterday), tent poles, and even a passport (didn't really want to go into Canada that trip, anyway). Wonder what it'll be this time?
My ride for this trip:

This was taken last fall in the little town of McKitrick, home of one of the largest oil fields in California. My friend Dave and I had just spent one of the coldest nights camping that we could remember, on top of a mountain to the south. So cold, a leaking canteen left on the picnic table made a solid icicle that reached the ground in the morning. We were supposed to spend two nights there, but when I stuck my head out of the tent that morning, everyone in camp was almost packed and ready to leave, including the guy that was supposed to feed us. I usually don't drink coffee, but that morning I had several cups just trying to thaw out!
