Hope Coco has a good dr visit. It’s tough when pets get sick.

When I went to grill, there was shade and it didn’t feel that bad out. Chicken was really good with oven potatoes and carrots.

Mowed back field / yard from creek up to the house. Had a couple rabbits watching, but couldn’t dig phone out of pants pocket easy with seat belt on. Mowed along road also.

Front yard getting brown in spots, need rain.

Good evening all. 73F for the start, partly cloudy, light breeze. Moderate wind this afternoon, mostly cloudy this afternoon, and high temp 92 feels like temp 105F. Birthday today, started day with Men's meeting, then bike ride. Nap after lunch, could not talk myself into weed eating in heat.

So was I... rv builders buy the chassis in bulk and had a lot of the 2018's left over, then they put their body on top of them.
Was never told there was downside to having "older" chassis, which I understand is identical to new one except for headlights and nicer
glass dash. Prospect is very bright, did good due diligence and found out older chassis did not transfer warranty to new owner. Dealer of course
told me none of this. So I dropped the price some more, would like to sell to this guy but at some point I'd rather keep the unit and not take the hit.
The price has now come down enough not worried about selling it, but also want to get it off next door neighbor's property within two months, hogging up his driveway.
I bought the unit in Sept 2019 and thought full bumper to bumper warranty went from there. Yes, apparently, but for original owner only.
I'm such a full disclosure guy that this caveat emptor attitude of dealer sure rubs me the wrong way...

Drew, here's what you do. But only do this for a price that is not lowered due to no warranty. Read all the way through.

Just for ease, lets say you sell it for $100,000

Owner finance the deal to the new buyer for $99,996 down Zero interest. Charge them $1 per year payments for the life of the warranty. Give them the blue title (buyer's non-negotiable title) or sign the real title and hand it to them. Help them get tags and such.

Keep technical lien holders ownership. If there is a warranty problem, let them drive you down there, so you can ask for warranty.

You might have to tweak some stuff, but the gist of it will take 2 parties that trust each other.

Sounds simple enough, Rick. Just need to figger out what button/valve/lever does what, and get the steps down in order. Then practice.

I was on hold with VOX tech support for an hour and a half this morning, and finally gave up and left a message to be called back. Temps are well into the 90s now, so some homework sounds like a good idea right about now.

This truck came from a small town fire department in Ohio, near where I was raised. So no foam, but something of a miracle it ended up with me. One of those small world things.

We have VFD Apparatus Check 1st Monday of the month and drill on 3rd Monday. Come on down and we'll give you a free lesson.

It was still low 90's when we did our checks Monday evening. Pumper, Big Tanker, Small Tanker, Brush Fire Truck, Polaris Ranger Brush Fire Vehicle, 2 x station air compressors, Ambulance we use as our Command Vehicle / Cooling Area, and trailer for the Ranger.

Each unit has a Captain but .. we're all expected to be able to run everything .. and we do.

During the virus lockdown we went down, in two man teams, to do our checks. We're finally back to normal operations again.

Good luck with your research. Sounds like your pumper is a simpler one. Simple is better .. when you really need to use it. Operation has to become "muscle memory". Trust me on that.

Local reports said the kid was lost in the woods overnight, not just three hours. Apparently the killer didn't know any of his victims; he just shot them, then drove away in his side-by-side. He was shot and captured; sure hope this one gets the death penalty, but it's doubtful under the present administration.

In other news, they arrested another arsonist yesterday, captured at the scene of the fire. It was a woman.

Another arsonist was caught just the day before, a man.

Both fires were contained to less than 20 acres, but it's very disturbing that there are people out there doing this. Not surprising, though, as there is basically no mental health facility in place to hold those that aren't safe to be on the streets. There are small scale treatment programs, but when a patient plateaus out, they get kicked out onto the street. Most re-offend. Wash, rinse, repeat.

On July 4th, a woman was arrested for catching a home's landscaping on fire with fireworks. Apparently she has a history of arrests, and is a more than a few bricks shy of a full load. Why anyone would give her fireworks, and alcohol, is beyond me.

It the attack / murder was in a National Park, Refuge, etc. can the Federal Govt. prosecute him?

Finally, success at PO.

Ophthalmologist really pleased with Sophies eye. Reduced meds and don’t have to return for a month.

Amazing how we treat our furry kids... next week is Kalani’s birthday. She’ll be 13. That’s great for a boxer. So I’m thinking, ought to really celebrate, maybe even splurge for a steak. A bit more thought and maybe a steak would be nice, but she doesn’t chew as well as she used to. Picked up a nice package of lean, local, ground beef (same as I get for me) and will have it ready on the 16th. Candles?

The problem with working from home, my wife just dropped a “ can you grill some chicken in 15 minutes”. I’m still at work. It’s 91° out and the grill is in the sun.

Get ya an air fryer. And an Instant Pot.

Great news for the wifey!

Coco sounds a little better, if she's able to walk 1/4 mile. I hope she keeps getting better.

Wifey made salsa to go with home made tacos (store bought shells). she got jalapeno juice on her hand and it was burning the fire out of her. Net said to wash with soap and hot water a few times. Then they said milk will make it feel better. It's better now.

79F and mostly clear @ 22:00 ... attic fan is still running trying to cool things off.

Was Taco Night here as well.

Got a very brief shower this afternoon as a thunderstorm popped up, not even enough to really wet the pavement though.

Put in new juice for the hummers after cleaning out the feeder.

Lid for the Northern Flicker nest box has been sanded and given a couple of coats of BLO.

DRST has all been sanded and component parts glued with Titebond Ultimate, some of it is still clamped. Parts of it have gotten the BLO treatment. Will get some of it reassembled before I knock off for the night. Probably install the mounting flanges for the Gilwood Slot box and DRST base board as well.

Found some powdered calcium up in the cupboard to put on the mealworms.

Hope everyone had a great day.
