Good morning!!!!

Good Morning. It's 73° here this morning and will get to about 82° this afternoon .. with rain in our forecast this afternoon.

I spent most of yesterday afternoon, in the shop, running some more parts thru the ultrasonic cleaner filled with EvapoRust. Everything came out rust free so .. rinsed and set all out to dry so I can hit everything with primer this morning.

I did get tractor / ZT maintenance done in the morning but, little else with the on / off misting of rain all day.

I need to get back to pressure washing patios / porches then spring window washing .. not my favorite job.

Hope everyone has a safe productive start to your week.

Prayers to all.

Good Morning!!!! 64F @ 6:00AM. Sunshine and clouds mixed. High 86F. Winds light and variable.

Send some of that cool air back here, will ya, Billy? Supposed to be back in the hundreds by Wednesday here.:fiery: The fence lizards here are gettin' sparky, too. Gonna be fun seeing the tiny ones running around soon.

Welcome aboard, Ray. The more the merrier!:welcome:

I'm glad you're getting the support you need right now, Drew, so you can focus on getting well. Progress now may seem like little steps, but make enough of them and you'll be out of there in no time.

How big was that bee, Ron? It looks huge in the picture! Tell your aunt she has good taste in tractors.

Hmm, posting photos seems to work fine, Eric. This is a panorama I took last Friday evening.

No refunds from any of my insurance companies so far. Just more bills.:irked:

You all have sure had some interesting jobs! And now Bruce shares he used to make ammo box parts!

Nice truck, Phil.

There's no rain in the ten day forecast, and the solar contractor is supposed to show up today, so first job this morning is to get the tarps and plywood off the trenches. I think they'll be bringing some equipment with them that'll need to tractor and forks to unload, too, but I'm not sure what the rest of the day will bring.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start!

59°F and mostly clear skies this morning, going up to 82° today. Looks like we're warming this week, and will be in the mid-90s by Wednesday. I guess Summer's not going to wait a few more weeks here either.

Got home Friday evening to find a CAT 953B Track Loader sitting just off the end of the driveway. New guy's apparently not wasting any time.
CAT 953B Track Loader.JPG

Got most of the grass cut Saturday, with the exception of half of the pasture that was still pretty soggy from last week's rain. My camera clamp mount finally arrived as well, with no explanation as to why it was 2-1/2 weeks late.

When The Wife and I were sitting down in the sunroom Sunday to eat lunch, we noticed a strange car parked back by the barn, and some older guy walking around the pond area. Hmmm. Had an idea who it might be, but was aggravated that he didn't stop at the house before just driving back there. Walked out to talk to him, and it was who we thought; the father of the guy who is going to finish the pond work. Before both father and son worked for the construction company my Wife was working for before she retired, he owned his own excavating company. He told me his son had asked him to come by and take a look at the project and give him some advice. I explained to him the timeline of events, and he was appalled at both the seeming lack of direction of the work, and the condition in which it was left. It was nice to hear from a seasoned veteran that what we'd always thought about this project was indeed true; the landscaper had no idea what he was doing. We talked for a bit, super nice guy who seems to be enjoying his "retirement," and they plan to start correcting the mess this week. Wife and I later went over the itemized quote from the landscaper, and based on what he did (some of which has to be redone) and what he left unfinished, versus what we've paid him so far, we have it basically at break-even at this point. So, she's going to contact him this week and let him know his services are no longer required. With any luck, it will just end there and everyone moves on.

I went out and finished mowing most of the other half of the pasture late Sunday afternoon, after it seemed mostly dry enough. There was still one low area where I didn't dare push my luck, though.

Good to hear from Drew again. Sounds like he has a decent plan in place.

That's a nice-looking new truck, Phil. Congrats.

Pretty slick mod on that ammo can, RNG. I've thought about painting one of those LS blue and replacing the right side steps with it (controls on that side make it almost impossible to use that door, even if I lose about 100 lbs ;)).

We have iPhones and I have an older iPad I use for music, but all of our computers are PCs. We both have HP laptops we bought back in 2014, which seem to still be working fine, and our HP printer/scanner has worked great as well. I have a Dell Inspiron all-in-one that is my studio computer, which I bought used from a local (St. Charles, MO) vaping store that was "upgrading" to Macs. Got it for $200. Even though my initial computer experience was on the Apple IIe back in the '80s (remember Apple Basic?), I've always owned PCs. The music industry was once ruled by Macintosh. Not so much anymore. In fact, there are now more PC-related programs available than Mac, at least in music production. Besides being prohibitively expensive for noobs, it seems the newer crop of Apple products are not nearly as service or modification friendly as PCs.

Good morning to all! Low was a warmer 56, going up to 86. No rain or t-storms yesterday, looked threatening, but none developed into much.

Got the generator transfer switch and related plug all hooked up followed by a test run... all good! Almost had to use it, the power again went out around 8 pm. I let it go for 45 minutes, then when I stood up to go switch everything over to the generator, power came back on. It went off again sometime in the middle of the night, all the appliances / clocks showed messed up times this morning.

The sons completed the tear down of the old shed, all usable materials stacked, and all the debris hauled off to the dump. I was able to squeeze the tractor back there and dig 2 holes for posts to repair the existing fence ( where shed was ), and for a new gate to go in another section for back access to the garage. That was successful and posts are set.

Not sure what I will get into today, a bunch of small misc. stuff could be done, run a couple errands, etc... maybe do a rain dance... every little bit might help to get some rain going....

Everyone have a great day!

RNG, good short Touch Bar tutorial.
Touch Bar First Look

Thanks for passing that along, Don. I've had a MBP since 2016, but never much used the TouchBar except to unlock it with the fingerprint reader. That's mainly because I use a full sized keyboard and monitor with the MBP in the office. In other rooms, though, it's just the laptop, so I'll start paying more attention to the TouchBar. Who knows, maybe this old dog can learn a few new tricks?:confused2:

63F and sunny @ 11:00, high for today predicted to be around 71F. Highs are headed up to the low 80's for the next 4 days after today, chance of rain each day.

More progress made up in the shop yesterday, although not nearly as much as I would have liked.

Trip to HFT postponed until today ... to avoid the weekend crowds.

Plan to handle a couple of things here at the house, then trip to HF and maybe hardware store then probably work up at the shop.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Is it too muddy to be digging out the pond right now?
