Good Morning!!!! 62F @ 4:00AM. Partly cloudy skies this morning will become overcast during the afternoon. High 83F. Winds SSE at 10 to 20 mph.
A steady, soaking rain moves in tonight, lasting through Monday, forecasted to leave us with a little more than an inch. Then it's dry and warmer, with highs in the mid 80s by the end of the week. A nice string of perfect spring days.
I aspire to have enough free time to make sheep out of curly queues, Eric. Another case of CoVid-19 inspired stir crazy?:confused2::laughing:
How many bicycle miles this year already, Mostly? Seems like you're really piling 'em on!
Fire season is already here; there are call outs almost daily now. I still need to mow, and clean out the gutters, but the coming rains are giving me a breathing spell.
I was at a Yes concert in Cincinnati just a few weeks before the infamous Who concert where several fans were crushed. People had piled up against the main entrance, then the organizers opened different doors instead. The mob pressed so hard, I remember pulling my feet up off the ground and getting carried along, and having difficulty breathing.
That's a LOT of wood, Thomas! Ever have any problems with termites in the house as a result?
Any automotive paint store can supply plastic primer, David. The ones I've used have a very short "open" time, after which they need to be reapplied before the paint can be put on. The Vanagon had a lot of black plastic exterior trim, and all of it had turned a chalky gray. I roughed it up with red ScotchBrite, shot it with plastic primer, then gave it a coat of two part black semi-gloss, and it still looks like new today. If you're bent on painting something blue, you could put a coat on the underside of the new cover, where you'd see it and the sun won't. I'd have to tunnel under way too much concrete to ever get a plumbed propane connection for the BBQ grill. I can think of worse problems to have...
Someone reading your posts would never guess you were enduring knee problems, Ted. Good on you for not letting them slow you down, but you need reminding that you're makin' the rest of us look bad (again). At the end of the tank filling video, you missed the part where the liquid propane comes out of the vent valve. I suppose that's why you see all the "NO SMOKING" signs around propane filling stations.

Managed to get the rest of the piping assembled for the solar panel rack yesterday. I think measuring twice paid off, as there were no more unexpected surprises. The thing is as solid as a brick outhouse; I don't care how hard the wind is gonna blow, those solar panels aren't goin' anywhere! I'm also feeling a lot more comfortable on the new tractor. Using the new inclinometer, I've seen 17° of side tilt so far with no signs of wheel lift or tipping, or stained shorts.

Not sure I'd want to push it much beyond that, though.
Did a little more digging yesterday while waiting on some saw cuts, and got the trench cleaned up close to the pump house without hitting any big rocks or concrete. Just have a little work with the demo hammer this morning before I can finish laying the new conduit, and get the repair pieces in place as well. With rain on the way, I think it's better to have the conduit in the trench in case there's a cave in.
Hope everyone, especially Drew, enjoys their weekend!
