hey us old Guys have to watch out for each other.:thumbsup:
Good day today. I got a bunch of chores done a the shop today, then came home and had to seperate our 2 roosters. The younger one was trying to kill the old guy. The young gun is now in a seperate cage, while the old dude gets the run of the coop. I guess I feel sorry for the old dude...:)

Good Afternoon. 1755, thunderstorm, 86F. Forecast low of 68F tonight and a high of 91F tomorrow. There is a 27% chance of a shower today, but we have just sat through over an hour of very heavy rain with thunder and lightning. A lady who lives straight across the river from us said on Face Book they had lots of hail at her place. None here so far, and my garden is thankful for that.

We got off early to Panama City, got our shopping done, brunched at Bonefish Grill and was back home a little after noon. I have 50% more racing to watch than Ron. I'm also a F1 fan, and today is the biggest day in racing with the Grand Prix of Monaco, the Indy 500 and the Coke 600. I slept while I watched F1 practice, exercised while I watched F1 Qualifying, and am eating supper while I watch the GP. I also have a NBA playoff game to watch after I'm done with all the racing. I will be doing a little fast forwarding, I'm sure.

Watched the F1 race early this morning. Not a huge fan but I love watching the grand prix of Monaco. The backdrop of all the boats moored to watch. Really good camera work in HD. I had a better seat in Texas than the fans there. :)

Hi guys, haven't been on in a couple of weeks, hope you're all well. Beautiful weather the last few days after some severe storms and tornadoes late week. New job and chores have me tied up a lot and I'm to tired to stay awake when I have time. See you soon.

We call him "Lucky". He has survived 4 fox attacks. We still lost a bunch of hens, but the little guy took a azz whooping every time the fox came around. After all that, I saw a fox in the pasture, about 100 ft away from Lucky. He got on top of the compost pile and was tring to crow, and flapping his wings!! He still telling the fox, "bring it on!!". I shot at the fox 4 different times, missed each time. Then my boxer girl tried to get the fox, missed by inches, ran herself right into a fence trying to get the fox. Getting shot at 4 times didn't faze the fox, but a near death encounter with Sydney, the boxer girl, convinced the fox to go elsewhere. I think a bullet is pretty abstract to a fox, but big teeth and Sydney running at full emergency boxer power is right in the DNA as something to avoid. The fox never returned to give Sydney a 2nd chance. She's killed several squirrels, woodchucks, and 1 coon. She is a pretty good dog. This is her on the left, with her dad, Bubba. We lost him last year.

52 right now a light shower passing through. The prediction for today is a high of 80 and cloudy.
Got the mowing done yesterday and I do have some trim work to do today.

/ Good morning!!!! #21,908
Got first cup of coffee poured. 50° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 81° with a sun all day. Plan to get out early and spray weed killer in areas where I do not any vegetation growing.
Watched the F1, Indy and NASCAR races yesterday. Good relaxing time.
In between races I pulled the Water Hydrant in barn apart. Hydrant has been in place 40 years. No parts available. Replaced o rings and put back together. Still leaks. Looks like I will need to dig it out, inside and outside of barn 4' down to replace hydrant. All hand digging. :( Put on bottom of the list for a few days.
Good Morning All.

55*F with clouds and a bit of rain this morning. Maybe some t-storms later today, high of 78.

I finished the bit of mowing yesterday morning. It was too sunny for attic crawling yesterday, today looks better for that. It's not my favorite thing to be doing. :)

We have some oak furniture that has faded in the sun, so I have been rubbing on some Formby's tung oil in small stages to keep the smell down. Amazing how that brings the finish back.

Cut a little firewood yesterday evening. Have to get started on wood for 2015-16. With the emerald ash borer next door in NH, it isn't hard to decide which trees to cut. At least ash is easy to split and reasonably hot firewood.

I haven't seen a post from Thomas lately ???

good morning all, going to be a lovely day here up into the low eighties. Might just go do some more field mowing. I remembered to take my little camera yesterday so I got some nice shots of the deer playing in the field.

Had a delightful dinner at my stepbrother's yesterday with guests from Egypt. Mom was a highly educated pediatrician who was now a translator for the UN, her two lovely girls who were there, dressed beautifully, always smiling, remarkably polite (sounds like a normal US teen...??) who went to the UN school on the upper east side of NYC. And they were in the US for one more month until they could go home to their father near Alexandria. A separated family that clearly had two girls who were going to propel themselves at their Dad when they got off the plane. Even if one of them had her bachelors and masters in EE from Fairliegh Dickinson Univ. in NJ.

Have to clean up the little VW Golf today, leaving it at the Toyota dealership tomorrow while I take home an Avalon to try out, make sure it fits in the garage, as my garage is not long enough for the suburban, for example. Needed a more comfortable car than the Golf, though I love the diesel performance. It's not an expensive car, I won't get a lot of money on a trade, so I'm wondering if I should just keep it. Wondering if future snowbirding might call for it. but since I rarely get on planes, and will likely drive where I'm going, I'm having a hard time justifying the expense of a truck and two cars for one guy. As would most folk I think. Unless the third car was a pure toy, and nothing wrong with that.

The Toyota Avalon is boring but big and very comfortable and amazingly, gets to sixty in 6.1 with a fairly small six cylinder engine.
And it handles decently after they reworked it last year. Reminds me of a Buick Lucerne I had, with the V8 and GM's electronic suspension. The Avalon is a slightly smaller version, gets fifty percent better gas mileage, and accelerates faster. Technology at work.

And lastly speaking of technology, I was delighted to be able to get the model without most of the electronic nannies, no buzzers on my butt or ding dongs when it thinks I'm driving incorrectly. With all the weaving that goes on around here still due to bad roads and potholes, those nannies would overheat, and surely overheat me.
But the backup camera with guidance lines works fine, and that's all the stuff I wanted.

ok, back to regular programming.

Good Morning. Beautiful sunrise. Solar cells make lots of juice. Supposed to be in the upper 70's. Remembering those who gave everything so that we can live the way we choose. ~S~

I haven't seen any yet this year. Some years it can be hard to be outside, my dogs suffer also.

Good Morning. 0930, sunny, 80F with 75% humidity. Forecast high of 89F with 75% chance of a late afternoon thunderstorm, and a low of 69F tonight. I had to finish watching the Coke 600 this morning, just couldn't stay awake until the end last night. Margie is off with Cousin Dee doing the shop/lunch/shop thing, so I'm going to try to catch up on some of my outside chores while she is gone. I have about three days worth that need doing.

A big thank you to all the Vet's out there. This great country wouldn't be what it is with out the men and women who have served in the armed forces.

Drew, I looked at the Avalon before I got the great deal on my Camry. Two of Margie's friends whom she rides with to the various conferences around the state have them, and they are a very comfortable ride. But the deal I found on my used '13 Camry was too good to walk away from. {it had a little fender bender {{which was repaired}} 3 months into a lease with 2.5K miles for $17.6K}
