You are correct...it IS downright unAmerican!!! At the very least he should have a few cans of Red, White, & Blue beer...

This is the warmest morning we have had all year, it's 54 degrees now. Was out in the garage until late last night installing new rear brakes on my Saturn, among other things. I can spend HOURS out there when it's warm enough and of course I have a mini-fridge that is usually stocked with cold beverages, both cola and beer.

Got coffee poured. 51 degrees with periods of fog and clear skies this morning. Heading to 69 with clouds and sun all day. Yesterday was a wash out. Rain all day. But better weather is coming. I can now plan projects that require more than one day to finish.

Got some pain in my lower (really low, just above the tailbone) back. Manageable, but annoying... Somehow started during church yesterday, doing nothing more strenous than sitting in a chair...

Yep, like Roy on the other side of the White Mtns., it's going to be another great day. It's actually getting on the dry side here, the fire danger is pretty high until things green up.

I know, not having any beer in the house is a shortcoming that I will have to work on. :laughing: All that talk about Shiner Bock in TX makes me want to try some of that.

Farmgirl19 all sorts of antibiotics and steroids can increase sugar levels in diabetics it is a fine line you have to walk to keep your levels under control. It is sorta funny that toppop52 name Randy is mine as well

You guys are correct and my wife being a doctor I should know better than throw out advice without knowing the whole story. I too am diabetic and the two conditions seem to be hand in hand often times though not directly connected. But diabetes promotes many other conditions such as kidney disease, eye problems, cardiovascular, nerve, immune system (which it is it's self), etc... However, depending on your diabetes level and your doctor's advice, you may still be able to use prednisone short term. I often see a rise in BG/dl when on antibiotics, though I take 5 mg of prednisone daily for arthritis since I can't take powerful NSAIDS. Relefin landed me in the hospital in the middle of the night in '05 in congestive heart failure with a huge blood pressure spike and lungs full of fluid, my pulse 02 was 73%. If I had not been in excellent physical condition from working out daily as I did then, I would have been in big trouble. Many things contribute to gout, many things can help gout, but each person reacts differently to both gout and diabetes, there is no one size fits all. I threw away my diabetes pills after the second crash in 3 days, less than a week after I started them in 2000, haven't taken a med for it since and maintain 88-120 glucose pretty much all the time unless I'm sick.
