Good deal?

I know of a 2004 NH TC40A with loader, R-4 tires, under 100hrs for $18,000. Is this a good deal or the going rate?
Does anyone have experience with this machine/transmission. Thanks, Erik

Few simple questions:

1) Does the Loader have a quick attach bucket?
2) Hydrostatic or Gear
3) Is it still painted Blue ? (The blue ones are worth more)
Edit 4) any rear hydraulics ?

If it is a TC40A, not a D or DA, then it is 12x12 Synchronized Shuttle Shift. I have a TC35A which is the same, only 5 less HP in the engine and PTO.

Just my $0.02 worth.

I kind of figured on that, however I also find that people sometimes get confused about the exact model letters that they are looking at, but few get confused about whether it is gear or hydro drive. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

The machine is blue, standard bucket (not quick-change), no rear remotes, and transmission is standard shuttle. Thanks, Erik

Seems high to me but your in that North east area and from what I found prices typically run higher there. So hopefully someone in your area can give you a better idea.

Your price of $18,000 is about 12-15% off what that tractor would have sold for when new. With only 100 hours, it's not a bad price, but I'd offer a little less and see if the dealer might budge. $16,500 or $17,000 would be a very good price. You might try to negotiate at least a two-year warranty also. If you can't get that warranty, then low-ball your offer.

Essentially all I'm saying is there is always room for negotiation. If you paid the $18k, it wouldn't be a bad deal, but if you can negotiate a better deal, you would not be asking the dealer to take a hosing either. You can figure the dealer probably gave about $15k-$16k for that tractor.
