Good deal on chainsaw scabbards

I went to order a new scabbard for a Husky 562. Balking at the $12-17 prices I was seeing online, I remembered that Home Depot and Echo dealers used to sell 20" Echo scabbards for $6, which can be cut down in 2" increments. They are orange and very nicely molded. I had bought a couple many years ago when Stihl started giving out those lousy/useless scabbards with their new saws. Well, Home Depot still sells the Echo scabbards, and they are still $6. I picked up two. If you're in need of scabbards, I don't know of a better deal around.

What a deal,so off I went to my local Home Depot. Should have called first. Some districts carry this product others do not. Western Ohio stores do not carry any. Back to the internet as I have seen some pretty cheap. I have two saws with 42 inch bars that do not travel well in the back of the dump truck.

Sorry to hear they are not in all HDs, but Echo dealers should carry them as well.

I have found these work well for long bars if you buy two and cut the tip off one. Actually, from two scabbards I was able to make a short 12" scabbard for my climbing saw and then combine the scrap piece and another scabbard for the 28" bar on my Stihl 461.

I just stopped in the husky dealer and a 28" cover was $9 My 20" and down covers are $5 and under.
