This weekend my project was to get a new aerator up and running in one of my ponds. Included trenching 200' of wire, anchoring and floating the pump and setting up all the connections. I also had the enjoyment of watching my neighbor hay our fields, start to finish. This is only the first cut, I have never seen the grass so tall, the weather has just been horrible for mowing up here.

I hope you find the pictures enjoyable. The time span was Friday AM through Sunday afternoon.

See if you can notice how many different pieces of equipment were used.

PS. if anyone can teach me how to gang all the photos into one post I would appreciate it. Thanks

Mike

Alan,
I totally agree. It is a nice area here. I just wish I owned more of it.

Mike, can you tell me more about the aerator? I built a pond last year, and want to put an aerator in it, but have no idea what size or brand to get. My pond is roughly 2.5 acres, and is 15 feet deep at the dam. Any help is appreciated.

My aerator is a Kasco Marine F3400A/Fsurface model 3/4hp 110v, aka "a splasher". I put up a picture of the aerator close up.

Kasco can be found www.kascomarine.com

My main pond is 2 acres 23 feet deep.

I would suggest you go to www.pondboss.com and register. There is a section devoted to pond aeration. The site is a wealth of information about all phases of pond care.

Fell free to email me if you want more information, I don't want to bore our TBN friends with an unrelated issue. I bought mine mail order and saved some $'s, they are not easily found off the shelf up in my part of the country. I also had it made up with a 150' cord, standard is only 50'.

Mike, thanks for the info. I'll check out Kasco Marine. I visit pondboss.com quite often.
