Good Boots?

If your looking for lineman boots, Google "west coast boots". They custom make them to your foot. They also will rebuild them up to 3 times for you. I can't tell you what they cost now but I'm sure they are over $300. Halls also makes quite a few line boots, very similar to the redwing model.

I only wear 8" lace up. Do not consider $200 expensive for boots either. US made reebok are good. But I also like Chinese Red Wing King Toes. Have them non insulated and 400g. I like the big toe box, though wish little tighter in middle. I try lots of different boots, but if I need something fast kind toes are it.

I have tried most name brands but never Georgia boots until this year. I picked up the eagle one composite toe Wellington for about $230. When back and bought two more pair, best I have put on my feet. So far, 9 months and still waterproof with no assistance. Most of my boots seem to start leaking with 6-9 months of wear.

I'm sure many people will scoff at this, but I wear Hubert work boots from Walmart. They're waterproof, and they hold up well to me wearing them everyday on my farm. I've had 3 pair and each pair lasted me over 2 years. I wear them in all weather while I do chores, they're comfortable and my feet don't get wet. I've had various brands of much more expensive boots, but none have worn as well, or been more comfortable, and I'm very hard on my boots, or as my wife says, "You use your boots heavily". When I first started buying them they were $35/pair, but now they're gone up to $45/pair. The pair I have now were 2 years old last month (I keep track) and they're just starting to separate on the top of the eyelets, but I'll probably get a few more months out of them.

If they work for you Rich, I'm not going to scoff at you. My mechanic buddy laughs at some of my tools, but they work for me.
