Good 5 gallon pail fluid pump?

I use a kerosene pump designed to fill heaters. It runs on 2 d batteries and I think I paid 15 bucks for it.

The Northern one does not seal the top of the container. And it does create condensation if it's in a damp place like my barn. I went to top off my tractor and got water.

Now I store it on an empty bucket in the drier shop/garage.

I've used this 12v pump for diesel and changing the 10 gal of hydraulic fluid for years. It's so cheap, I actually bought 2 thinking it might burn up after pumping the hydraulic oil, but no issues at all.
It has a 3/4" outlet, so it fills my 9 gallon diesel tank in about a minute.

Still have the 2nd one, new in the box, in a cabinet in the garage.

YES, that's what I use also.
Super little rig, just right for my CUT and fits most 5 gal containers.
Like it so much I have a second as backup but no signs of needing one so far.
Not super speedy but just OK for my CUT.
From an offshore site (slow delivery) only in the $10.00 range. (Alibabba)
I highly recommend it.
I used synthetic radiator hose since they don't include any and rad hose stays flexible in the cold.
Nice feature is when shut down the hose contents simply drops back into the pumped tank thus avoiding spillage.

I highly recommend this for your CUT's.

They take 5/8 hose which matches 1/2" copper pipe so I made a nozzle like end using short pipe and a 90 deg elbow.
Also have an external 12 volt connection for convenience.
Fuelling is now a pleasant chore!

Those little gems are also available in 24 VDC.

Dataway, this is the 5-gal pail Westward pump I've used for about six years. Excellent manual pump for hydraulic oil.

You can get the Opti-Lube pump from AES Industries on Amazon or Ebay for less money. Opti-Lube charges shipping charges. This is the best price I found from Ebay .... free ship and with taxes for Michigan residents.... a boot $30 shipped to your abode. The problem with most other 5 gallon pumps I have found is that they do not fit into the pail unless you split the spout some because they are too big in diameter to fit the normal cap size.

The reason I recommend the Westward pail pump and those of like design is that it replaces the plastic cover of the bucket and fastens to the lip. That gives lots of rigidity when you're pumping with one hand. Makes topping up quick and spilless between changes, but still delivers high volume for complete fills. Note, though, that they aren't intended to provide a tight seal on the bucket like the original plastic cover. So with a new, full bucket of fluid, you cannot slosh it around. :)
